Interview with director Marc Roussel of Remote
Marc Roussel is the Canadian director behind various short films. One his latest efforts, Remote (starring: Ron Basch, Sarah Silverthorne, George Komorowski, Peter Racanelli, Julie McCarthy, Nadia Di Carlo, Chris Willis, Ruth Barrett and Don Tjart) is a horror / thriller in which a man communicates via his television set to one of the former tenants of his residency. However, as there conversation progresses, he discovers that she was murdered by a vengeful slasher and it's up to him to try and prevent what happened in the past while in the present. With Remote, Marc Roussel showed that he is capable of directing a competently acted short film with a sleek, professional look on a modest budget. Remote also showed an ability to build and craft suspense through dialogue and the actions that the characters take instead of through editing techniques or gratuitous violence. Perhaps Marc Roussel will carry over these abilities into a feature film?...

Use the Remote at Newport for Thrills and Chills April 23rd
Not sure how this one was missed, but horror short Remote will play in Newport this week (April 23rd). The film utilizes isolation and the blending of time, or space to place character Matt at the scene of murder. The show has one showing only at 3:30pm, so if you are interested in the clip below head on down to Newport for the festivities, soon.

The synopsis for Remote here:

"On a cold February night, Matt loses his cable signal during a severe snowstorm. He's left with channel after channel of static, until he comes across a station that is the mirror image of his apartment, but 30 years in the past. He soon discovers that he can communicate with Justine, the young woman residing in the apartment on the television. As the two get to know each other, Matt discovers that Justine died on that very night 30 years ago.
