Image
Julian Brown’s recent disappearance has had conspiracy theorists very curious. He was previously known for creating Plastoline, which he claims is able to turn recycled plastic into gasoline. However, the popularity he has gained now is more ominous. The inventor posted a suspicious video on 9th July on Instagram, claiming that he was “under attack,” warning his viewers to be careful and be on the lookout for him.

Alright, listen, everybody. I can’t go into too much detail, but there is some very, very odd stuff going on. I’m certainly under attack right now in many different ways…I’m still building – nothing is going to stop that. But I’m just telling you guys right now, be on the lookout because I’m under attack.

To add more mystery to the situation, Brown has not posted anything since then, causing many to believe that something bad has happened to him.

Every Season Of How I Met Your Mother, Ranked
Image
Back in the days when television seasons had 20+ episodes per season, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas' hit sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" managed to wring nine seasons and 208 episodes out of its premise. With Josh Radnor as the series lead, Ted Mosby — whose older self, voiced by Bob Saget, is telling his kids an interminably long story about how he met their mom — and Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders, and Neil Patrick Harris as his best friends Marshall Eriksen, Lily Aldrin, Robin Scherbatsky, and Barney Stinson, the show explores Ted's love life in New York City as he tries to find "the one." To say it takes him a long time is a serious understatement.

As with all long-running series, "How I Met Your Mother" had definitive high points and low points from season to season. So, which seasons show off the very best of the ensemble comedy...

Mike Rinder, the former senior Scientologist who with fellow ex-member Leah Remini exposed the organization via a podcast and an Emmy-winning docuseries, has died. He was 69.

“This is the last post on this site. I have shuffled off this mortal coil in accordance with the immutable law that there are only two certainties in life: death and taxes,” Rinder wrote in a final post written on his personal blog. “My only real regret is not having achieved what I said I wanted to — ending the abuses of Scientology”

In June 2023, journalist and Scientology expert Tony Ortega had shared that Rinder had advanced esophageal cancer. The Rings Of Power Season 3 Is Better Off Leaving One Theo Mystery Unsolved
Image
There are many mysteries wrapped up in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but one Theo riddle may be best left unsolved. The Rings of Power season 1 thrived on enigma, teasing the Stranger, Adar, and Halbrand as potential Saurons in hiding. The season 1 finale revealed Halbrand as Sauron, while season 2 launched into the mystery of the Stranger's identity, which was revealed in the season 2 finale. It goes without saying that suspense is a key feature of the show, but Theo may do better left out of this tactic.

The Rings of Power season 3 is surely set to tackle the identity of the Dark Wizard. This is a fair thread to pursue across the season and could easily culminate in another season-ending reveal, but the show may want to look into one big question about Theo as well. Theo is an original character in Rings of Power, beautifully portrayed by Tyroe Muhafidin.

7 Lotr Characters Who Could Be Theo's Dad In The Rings Of Power
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has circled the topic of Theo's paternity for quite a while now, leaving viewers with a few guesses as to who his father might be. Tyroe Muhafidin's troubled Southlander is the son of Bronwyn, who passed away between The Rings of Power season 1 and season 2. This tragic character is left with no parental figure since his father has been absent the whole time. However, a few fan theories posit Theo in some intriguing roles. If these fan theories are true, Theo's paternity could be a big surprise.

Theo and his mother, Bronwyn, were the main figures in The Rings of Power's Southlands arc, which was really put in place to set up the backstory between Halbrand and Adar. Bronwyn actress Nazanin Boniadi exited the show after season 1 to pursue other projects, but it wasn't a major catastrophe, since her storyline had already come full circle.

I Am Begging You, 'Rings of Power,' Please Give Arondir a Purpose!
Image
If there's one character that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power really shafted in its second season, it's Ismael Cruz Crdova's Arondir. This Elven warrior was a cornerstone of the Prime Video series' first season but was left out to pasture in Season 2. While some of that was likely because of factors beyond Crdova's control (specifically Nazanin Boniadi's sudden departure), the lack of meaty material for Arondir this season was a tragedy. Given that he is a completely original character in Rings of Power, it's not as if there are any narrative limits placed on him, but even so, the writers failed to make him a compelling character this time. Going into a potential third season, the series needs to give Arondir a real purpose, something the character has been lacking since Season 1.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Showrunners Debunk Popular "Dark Wizard" Theory - Spoilers
Image
The second season of Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power came to an end this week, and the finale seemed to leave little doubt as to the identity of the "Dark Wizard" played by Game of Thrones alum Ciarán Hinds.

However, all may not be as it seems when it comes to this mysterious and very powerful character.

We know that this blatantly evil sorcerer is an "Istar," and it was generally assumed that he must be Sarauman. Granted, it would be a pretty major change to the lore if this character "broke bad" prior to the events of Tolkien's trilogy, but so would the introduction of another Istari who was never mentioned in the saga at all.

This led to speculation that Hinds might be playing either Alatar or Pallando, the "Blue Wizards" who are never really discussed in any great detail in The Lord of the Rings...

The Rings Of Power Season 2 Finale Review: Amazon Needs To Let Tolkien's Story Magic Do The Work

That's been clear since reports first emerged about creators Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne's five-season, billion-dollar plan for J.R.R. Tolkien's masterworks. To tell a story at this scale with this level of production value, planning is vital. But, part of what makes television so great is improvisation. Sure, it can lead to less-than-stellar results. But improvisation, or lack of a detailed map, has led to some of the best television ever created.

Prime Video has already released a brief promo for this Thursday's season 2 finale of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but an extended version has now been shared online which features quite a bit of new footage.

Spoilers for the previous episode follow.

It's not the best quality, but the video shows more of the fierce battle between Galadriel and Sauron that was teased in the first trailer. The Dark Lord is still in his Annatar form here - but as we've already seen, this makes him no less powerful.

Rings of Power Season 2 Star Explains Arondir and Adar Fight Scene

Spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, Episode 7 ahead.

Rings of Power star Ismael Cruz Crdova recently spoke about the series' epic fight between Arondir and Adar in its second season. He also teased that a third season of the popular Lord of the Rings series is already being developed.

During the fight scene, the character of Arondir saves the day by arriving just in time to free Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) from Adar's (Sam Hazeldine) orc camp. Cruz Crdova spoke to Variety about Arondir's carelessness in battle and how one small moment of weakness spelled trouble for the character. "As the battles go, he gets a little more reckless. That recklessness, thats the mistake that I made. I get super emotional. That allows Adar to get me," he said. "Otherwise, Arondir would have been able to face him in an equal way."

Rings Of Power Episode 7 Kiss Might Be The Show's Most Divisive Moment Yet - Spoilers
Image
The penultimate season 2 episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is now streaming, and despite featuring a massive battle and a couple of deaths (though we'd say Arondir is still kicking), it was a kiss between two characters that emerged as the biggest talking point.

Spoilers from this point on.

Though they never had a relationship in J.R.R. Tolkien's source material, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo) locked lips in "Doomed To Die." Were these Elven comrades simply unable to contain their feelings any longer, giving in to their passionate desire for one another?

Not exactly.

The kiss was actually a strategic play on Elrond's part, as he was able to slip the captured Galadriel a cloak pin that she would later use to free herself from Adar. While some fans enjoyed this moment and are even "shipping" the characters, a lot of others...

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star Ismael Cruz Crdova explains how Arondir's season 2 one-on-one battle with Adar unfolded, and what drove his character in the long-awaited face-off. A new character within the lore of Middle-Earth, Arondir dedicated himself to the defense of the Southlands in the battle against Morgoth, becoming one of the first individuals to face a new Orc force that had been rallying. This faction is led by Adar (Sam Hazeldine) in The Rings Power Power season 2, who turns on the Dark Lord to assume control.

With The Rings of Power episode 7 focusing on the Battle of Eregion, Crdova opened up to Variety about what drove Arondir as the chaos brought him face-to-face with one of his most personal enemies. Despite his feats in the battle up until his showdown with Adar, Arondir ultimately grows more reckless until meeting Adar on the battlefield. When...

‘Rings of Power’ Star Ismael Cruz Córdova Says Arondir’s Drive for Revenge Lead to His Episode 7 Mistake
Image
Ismael Cruz Córdova wishes Arondir and Adar had more time together on “Rings of Power.”

Season 2 has kept viewers hopping all over Middle-earth but thanks to clues and trailers, it was clear a big battle was on the horizon. Episode 7 finally began the long-awaited Siege of Eregion. Among all the fighting and carnage, Arondir finally caught up to Adar (Sam Hazeldine) on the battlefield.

Arondir’s had a rough season, losing his love Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) to attacks from Adar’s orcs. Córdova tells TheWrap his character hasn’t had “the chance to grieve” at all this since the death and has been driven by a need for revenge.

What Córdova says is unfortunate, is that Arondir only wants Adar from a place of revenge. Where all the other characters have written Adar off as a villain for raising up the orcs, Arondir left his encounter with the scarred elf...

The Rings of Power Has Yet to Feature Celeborn, and It Makes No Sense

Quick Links Is Celeborn Dead in The Rings of Power? How Does Celeborn's Story Compare Between the Series and the Books? Will Celeborn Ever Appear in The Rings of Power?

When die-hard fans of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings learned that Prime Video would be creating a prequel series, The Rings of Power, detailing the events of the Second Age of Middle-earth, most were ecstatic, despite some reservations about the adaptation. While this does not necessarily impede the renewal of The Rings of Power, avid fans of Tolkien's writings are still confused regarding certain crucial events from the books.

The Rings of Power, adapted from the appendices (outlining Tolkien's imagined history) of The Lord of the Rings novel, is set thousands of years before the events of the trilogy and primarily focuses on the emergence of the rings. However, we've only seen three Elven rings in Season 1. Despite being a...

Rings of Power Designer Explains Why Sauron's Elven Look Is Different From Other Elves
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power designer Barrie Gower recently explained why Sauron's Elven form looks different from other Elves on the show. In the second season of the Prime Video series, Sauron disguises as Annatar (Charles Vickers), the Lord of Gifts and self-proclaimed emissary from the god-like Valar, to deceive the Elven smith Celebrimbor into crafting the remaining rings of power.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Gower discussed why it was necessary to differentiate Annatar from the other Elves in Middle-earth. The designer explained the practical processes of achieving the future Dark Lord of Middle Earth's otherwordly appearance. "So, we are dictated primarily to giving somebody elf ears that would suit them, but we're covering their own ears basically, or extending. Fortunately, Charlie has very nice ears, so we were able to give them these beautiful, slightly upturned angular ears," he said. "We were...

Is The Rings Of Power Season 2 Setting Up An Original Character's Tragic Death?
Image
Warning: spoilers ahead for The Rings of Power season 2, episode 6.With one seemingly innocuous scene, The Rings of Power may have prepared the board for an original character's death. Taking its cues from The Lord of the Rings itself, Amazon's The Rings of Power does not resort to frequently killing off characters, and this is partly why Valandil's murder in The Rings of Power season 2, episode 5, was so shocking. With Adar's army bearing down upon Eregion, however, further casualties from The Rings of Power's cast are highly likely before the season is over.

One of those casualties could be Arondir, according to a fleeting clue from The Rings of Power season 2, episode 6. Played by Ismael Cruz Crdova, Arondir is a Silvan elf created entirely for Amazon's TV show. After playing a significant role in The Rings of Power season 1's ending, the heartbroken hero has found his status somewhat diminished in season 2 thus far.

Image
The following contains spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, Episode 5, "Halls of Stone," now streaming on Prime Video.

One star of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power thinks his character should never possess a ring. In a Screen Rant interview, Leon Wadham, who plays Kemen, a Nmenorean, in the series, said it would be a disaster if his character were ever given one of the Rings of Power. The series so far, has shown the characters of Celebrimbor (Charles Edward) and Sauron, disguising himself as Annatar, (Charlie Vickers) forging several rings in Eregion while Kemens great city of Nmenor is struggling.

The Rings of Power Hopes to Finish With Five Seasons, Despite the Reviews
Image
Prime Video is committed to producing five seasons of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power as planned, amid continuous controversy regarding lore inaccuracies. The series debuted two years ago in 2022, and Amazon Studios initially announced that it would create five seasons. The second season is currently airing its weekly episodes until October 3, 2024.

Amazon Studios Chief Jennifer Salke recently shared a memo to staff regarding the viewership of The Rings of Power Season 2, which is significantly lower compared to the debut season. The first three episodes of Season 2 have been viewed by 40 million people since its premiere on August 29, 2024. However, compared to the first season, which drew 25 million viewers on its first day, the achievement seems rather underwhelming.

Furthermore, The Rings of Power has been heavily condemned by fans of Peter Jackson's Oscar-winning films and those who have read Tolkien's literature. In fact, the second season's Rotten Tomatoes...

Why the Orc Family in Rings of Power Is So Controversial, Explained
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cannot catch a break, having to face a string of harsh reviews from fans of Tolkien's writing. The series has always been a mixed bag, as it deviated significantly from both the original novels and Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. However, the second season, which has been airing on Prime Video since August, made another noticeable change that sparked heated debate among fans.

The second season is gradually setting up the story as both Sauron (Charlie Vickers) and Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) seek new allies. Meanwhile, Adar (Sam Azeldine) is gathering the Orcs, whom he considers family, to wage war against Sauron. However, during a sequence in the third episode, "The Eagle and the Sceptre," The Rings of Power chose to depict an Orc family in a sympathetic light, something previous additions to the franchise had avoided, sparking a major controversy.

The Rings of Power Season 3 Is in The Works, Not Greenlit Yet
Image
As the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues to make waves for Prime Video, a third installment of the series is already in the works. Season 2 follows Sauron (Charlie Vickers) and his mission to conquer Middle-earth by creating the Rings of Power, going head-to-head against Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) after the Dark Lord's betrayal. The latest season has been generally well-received, but some critique its slow nature and believe it has still not reached its full potential. No matter the case, viewers are still flocking to The Rings of Power, and while a third season has not officially received the greenlight, it has been in the works for quite some time.

According to THR, the third season of The Rings of Power has been in development since before new episodes premiered in late August, and Amazon is content with the current ratings the latest season is pulling.

The Rings of Power Soars to Prime Video's All-Time Streaming Chart
Image
Despite concerns from fans about staying true to the original, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 has recently risen to the top five most-watched television seasons on Prime Video, only trailing behind Fallout and Reacher Season 2. The second season sees the return of Sauron (Charlie Vickers), who has been cast out by Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and is now forced to manipulate his way through Middle-earth to make the Rings of Power. The scale of the second season's success is not restricted to United States audiences, but it has also received widespread international acclaim.

According to Variety, Amazon Studios Chief Jennifer Salke sent a memo to staff regarding the viewership of The Rings of Power Season 2, as well as numerous other top-performing Prime Video shows. Was Sauron Recast in Rings of Power Season 2?
Image
In 2022, Prime Video released the TV the first season of the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series, and fans were eager to see how the show's characters would translate from J.R.R Tolkien's written articulations of Middle-earth history to the screen. Now that Season 2 has arrived, fans are wondering if Sauron, the show's primary antagonist, is going to make a return.

In the first season, he did a lot of malicious work: he went to war with the Elves for their rings of power, left Lindor to attempt to overthrow Mordor, and it was revealed in the finale that Halbrand (played by Charlie Vickers) was, in fact, Sauron in disguise. When Sauron's true identity was unveiled, audiences were unsure whether or not the villain would make his return as Vickers or as another character. Now that Season 2 has arrived, the answer is clear. But is it what fans expected?...

Ismael Cruz Cordova Explains What Drives Arondir in 'The Rings of Power' Season 2 Sneak Peek
Image
We are already mid-way through the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The return to Middle-earth has been, as expected, splendid but far more treacherous than it was in the first season. Some of the wounds and mistakes of the first season have carried on into the second season. A primary example is the decision by Morfydd Clark's Galadriel to trust and introduce the Great Deceiver, the Dark Lord Sauron (Charlie Vickers), to the master elven smith, Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards). It is a decision that will ultimately aid the rise of the Dark Lord. In less monumental, albeit equally traumatizing circumstances, the Sindar warrior elf, Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova) is mourning the loss of his human love interest from season 1, the healer Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi). In this new featurette shared by Prime Video, Cordova explains what drives Arondir in the new season.

10 TV Characters Killed Offscreen Because The Actor Left The Show
Image
Warning: This article discusses topics of racism, homophobia, suicide, and sexual assault.

Over the years, several TV show actors left their respective roles, but their characters deaths ended up occurring offscreen. The demise of a beloved figure wasnt always met with a good reception from audiences, but the most heroic TV character deaths instead made up for their departure. When a character died but wasnt shown on-screen, it was often jarring. However, it was even weirder when it was already known that an actor was leaving, but they didnt get the opportunity to film their characters exit.

Even the best TV shows of all time sometimes had to say goodbye to a character without a proper send-off. Some of these instances were out of production's control and were the result of external reasons, such as legal snafus or budget cuts, whereas others were because an actor actively chose to step...

Everything You Need to Know About Forodwaith in Rings of Power
Image
The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power may have been a mixed bag for fans who have been fascinated by J.R.R. Tolkien's literature, but it succeeded in terms of visual storytelling. In fact, the series has made a valiant effort to delve into the lore of The Lord of the Rings universe, with equal emphasis on the races of Elves, Dwarves, Harfoots, Orcs, and Humans.

Prime Video's series also succeeds in providing us with a few throwbacks, such as the characters of Gandalf (The Stranger) and Sauron (Charlie Vickers), who seem to be youthful yet share the same determination to battle for good and evil as shown in The Lord of the Rings films. In addition to exploring the happenings of Middle-earth and Valinor, Rings of Power introduced us to another significant name: Forodwaith.

While Forodwaith was never explicitly shown in the original trilogy, Rings of Power did...

Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2, episode 4 is now streaming on Prime Video, and among the Ents (and Ent-wives), eerie Barrow-Wights and the debut of Tom Bombadil, the most significant talking point might be our biggest hint yet as to the true identity of The Stranger (Daniel Weyman).

Spoilers follow.

When Nori (Markella Kavanaugh) and Poppy (Megan Richards) get separated from their "Istar" friend after being whisked away by a sandstorm he caused (he still doesn't quite have a grasp of his powers), they encounter a group of larger Halflings who call themselves Stoors (Smeagol/Gollum is believed to have been a Stoorish Hobbit). After some initial hostilities, the Harfoots attempt to better explain who they were travelling with.

After describing the Stranger as "a giant" and "bigger than an Elf," Harfoot leader Gundabel sarcastically interrupts with, "oh, so he's a great big grand-elf?"

The Rings of Power Creators React to 'Tom Bombadil Is God' Theory
Image
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay have addressed whether Tom Bombadil is the most powerful being in Middle Earth, virtually making him "God." Rory Kinnear portrays the character in the Prime Video series, now in its second season.

J.R.R. Tolkien's source material depicts the character as a jolly singing fellow who has been around since the beginning of time. The characterization informed Bombadil's presentation in The Rings of Power, which retains core elements without affecting the show's serious tone. Dialogue in the series' fourth episode hints that Bombadil's demeanor belies his true status in Middle Earth, with many asking if he is basically "God." "We would have no problem if that question was being asked because people say that about the character in the books," co-showrunner Payne told The Hollywood Reporter. "And I think people asked that of Tolkien himself.
