Apple TV+’s latest animated series, WondLa, an adaptation of a sci-fi fantasy book series of the same name, is a visually resplendent piece of media that places itself in a dystopian setting and follows a human protagonist who tries to search for a world that is long gone. Memorable character designs are the most notable aspect of the series, along with an intricate, phantasmagorical settings, which are quite evidently the Usp of the series—the only drawback being the derivative nature of the narrative.

In the distant future, humanity’s greed and exploitation causes a total ecological and environmental collapse. As a result, the dwindling numbers of surviving humanity decides to send the youngest progeny to be raised inside advanced underground bunkers (kind of like the ‘Vault’ system in Fallout) created by the Dynastes Corps as the surface world recovers and returns to normalcy.

Although players can eventually pull 4-star weapons in Wuthering Waves using the game's 'Convene' system, they can also be found scattered throughout the world of Solaris-3. There are five types of weapons to dispatch Tacet Discord enemies with Sword, Broadblade, Gauntlet, Pistols, and Rectifier. Each weapon type has 4-star and 5-star classes, but the latter is usually acquired through Convening or spending loads of time progressing in-game while the former can be accessed after completing certain quests, crafting weapon recipes, and other methods.

It is essential that players first complete all main story quests until Act 4: Clashing Blades since all main quest-lines up to this point provide different abilities to fully explore the world and unlock Rover's potential. Jinzhou should also be mostly explored at this point with unlocked vendors, such as Uncle Wei's weapon shop. It's also helpful to have multiple characters unlocked to try out newly acquired weapons.

Rover is Wuthering Waves' canonical protagonist, available in both male and female versions. Both genders for Rover are equally canon, avoiding developer favoritism seen in other gacha games. The minor difference between the male and female Rovers in Wuthering Waves makes no impact on the narrative.

The newest open world gacha game on the market, Wuthering Waves, bears many similarities to its predecessors in the genre, including a mostly-silent protagonist with a selectable gender and following the trend of other gacha games, one protagonist may turn out to be more canon than the other. Developed by Kuro Games, previously best known for the action gacha game Punishing Grey Raven, Wuthering Waves is the studio's first foray into open world gameplay, and, like Tower of Fantasy before it, takes plenty of cues from Genshin Impact.
