On the heels of being renewed for Season 3, NBC’s La Brea resumed its sophomore run on Tuesday night with back-to-back episodes that involved stampeding buffalo, a pretty random murder, a conspicuously sudden preponderance of red, star-shaped flowers, and the long-awaited revisiting of the Aaron storyline (!) we all came for.

NBC’s La Brea season two episode eight ended with Gavin stopping the virus upload when it was 99 complete. Episode nine, “Murder in the Clearing,” picks up minutes later with Gavin (Eoin Macken) demanding to know his dad’s plan for getting them back home.

James (Jonno Roberts) claims his team’s on the verge of fixing the machine so it can be used safely. The catch? Dr. Harold Moore, the only scientist who understands the formula, is missing somewhere in 10,000 BC.

If Gavin can find him, then maybe they can all go home. And, it turns out, Gavin’s mom knows Harold and might know where to locate him.

Eve (Natalie Zea) shows up inside the Tower and wants to know why the virus stopped uploading.

Twenty years ago today, the world lost one of its strongest voices, Tupac Shakur. To commemorate the anniversary of his death, after an initial teaser, a second red band teaser has been unveiled for his biopic All Eyez On Me. Helmed by Benny Boom (an incredible director name, if I may say so), Eyez is a chronicling of the life and music of one of the most seminal rappers ever to touch the mic.

Newcomer Demetrius Shipp stars as Tupac (and looks an uncanny amount like the late rapper), who grows up seeing a life of police brutality and violence in his neighborhood, and decides to fight back through his music — as well as telling his story by “painting a picture with a pen.” Check out the new teaser below, along with the first poster.

The first trailer has been released for the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me. The film's story will focus on the career of Tupac and take us on a journey all the way to the fatal drive-by shooting that occurred in Las Vegas in 1996.

The trailer offers us an intense look at the film and we get our first look at newcomer Demetrius Shipp, Jr. as Tupac Shakur — he sure does have an uncanny resemblance to the musician. Judging from this minute-long teaser, the movie looks like it could be good. I hope it is and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

There won't be a fourth season of Single Ladies on VH1. The cable channel has cancelled their original series after three seasons on the air.

In a statement, VH1 said, "We've been proud to deliver three seasons of the drama, romance and style that engaged viewers in each episode of Single Ladies. Although we've decided not to move forward with another season, we hope to work again with the talented cast, creatives and producers as well as our partners at Flavor Unit Entertainment in the near future. We also thank the show's fans for their support since the premiere in 2011."

Single Ladies revolves around the lives of three close female friends who have different views on love, sex, and relationships. The cast includes Denise Vasi, LisaRaye McCoy-Misick, Charity Shea, Kassandra Clementi, Travis Winfrey, Harold House Moore, Terrell Tilford, LeToya Luckett, and D. B.

The rookies of NYC 22 won't be honing their police skills on CBS much longer. The network has cancelled the cop series before the entire season has finished airing.

NYC 22 follows a half dozen police men and women as they learn the ropes in the Big Apple. The ensemble cast includes Adam Goldberg, Leelee Sobieski, Stark Sands, Judy Marte, Harold House Moore, Felix Solis, Tom Reed, and Terry Kinney.

Debuting on April 15th, in (now-cancelled) CSI: Miami's former timeslot, NYC 22 attracted a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.86 million viewers. The second episode dropped 7% and the third fell 14% more. Last Sunday night's episode maintained a 1.2 in the demo and 6.87 million.

It was clear from the start that this new show was doomed to be cancelled.

CBS has had no shortage of success with its cop-related dramas. In fact, for the 2011-12 season, the network has six shows in the top 20 that are based on police or military folks doing investigations. But with programs like "CSI" showing their age, it's no surprise that the network would look to insert some fresh blood into their line up. The most recent effort is "NYC 22."

The Robert De Niro-produced show follows a group of police rookies as they learn the ropes and learn about themselves while fighting crime. If this logline sounds familiar, it's probably the exact same pitch producers gave with "Rookie Blue" and countless other cop dramas.

The series features a United Nations of characters including Adam Goldberg as a former reporter, Leelee Sobieski as an ex Marine MP, Harold House Moore as a former NBA player in addition to Tom Reed, Judy Marte and Stark Sands.

Chicago – “NYC 22” reminds me of a cover song by a really strong bar band. You can admire the craftsmanship. It doesn’t hit any wrong notes. And it reminds you of what you like about the original. But it can’t replace it. “NYC 22” is so derivative of other programs that it is constantly fighting with itself because it exposes its own flaws through the comparison. It feels like “NYPD Blue” and “Southland,” but those are the brilliant originals. This is the cover version.

As the networks roll out their fall schedules, CBS gets a chance to spend a lot of its day milling around the free snack table while surfing for new Apps. Whatever your thoughts might be on whether or not CBS has hot women, and is or isn't a network for old people (which it A- does, and B- nevertheless largely is), the fact is that they aren't rolling out a lot of new shows. Still faring well, though not as indomitable as it used to be, CBS made headlines more this year for the antics of "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen than any of its other shows. CBS announced its 2011-2012 primetime fall schedule today. The most anticipated show for me is J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest starring Jim Caviezel, Michael Emmerson and Taraji P. Henson. I am also a huge fan of Kat Dennings, so it will be neat to see how 2 Broke Girls turns out. There are a total of three new dramas, two new comedies, and 19 returning series.

Two and a Half Men is staying put and CSI is getting the boot.

CBS unveiled its fall scheduled keeping Big Bang Theory on Thursdays and shifts veteran CSI from its longtime Thursday night anchor slot.

The network announced several new drams. J.J. Abrams’ Person of Interest stars Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson as an ex-cia agent and a billionaire who team to stop crimes. Interest gets to take over the coveted CSI spot on Thursdays. CBS also shifted The Good Wife to Sundays. “To move CSI out of that time period you need big guns and we do,” says CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler.

The "Rocky" formula has been recycled in many different arenas, but "The Hammer" might come the closest to matching the tone of the original "Rocky".

The film hardly could be credited with breaking any new ground, but it has a hangdog charm, much like its leading actor. Adam Carolla, who also provided the original story, stars as Jerry Ferro, a construction worker who has just turned 40 and feels his life slipping away.

He was an amateur boxer years ago, and he teaches a boxing class at a local gym. When a promoter spots him, he invites Jerry to compete for a spot on the American Olympic team, and Jerry sees a chance to redeem himself.

The movie, which has made the rounds on the festival circuit, will never become a blockbuster, but it will please audiences who manage to catch it.

The movie benefits from unpretentiousness; it never takes itself too seriously. The script by Kevin Hench actually has a lot of snappy dialogue. Jerry is more of a wit than Rocky Balboa, and he enjoys trading barbs with his co-worker Ozzie (Oswaldo Castillo), as well as his fellow boxers. Director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld ("Kissing Jessica Stein") isn't much of a visual stylist, but he keeps the action moving swiftly, and he works smoothly with the actors.

Carolla exudes relaxed masculinity, even when he's playing the schlub. You warm to him because he refuses to swagger. He has a deft way with a one-liner, and he's generous in allowing his co-stars to share the spotlight. Heather Juergensen, who had a leading role in "Jessica Stein", plays a scrappy public defender whom Jerry woos. Her rapport with Carolla is infectious. Castillo is delightfully funny as Jerry's Nicaraguan cohort, and Harold House Moore glowers convincingly as Jerry's truculent boxing rival who becomes (too predictably) his ally. As the crusty trainer who initially encourages Jerry and then schemes to dump him, Tom Quinn brings brio to a stock part.

As a narrative "Hammer" is slightly undernourished. There aren't enough complications as Jerry makes his way to the Olympic trials. The boxing scenes are competent but not as pulverizing as one might hope. However, the seedy Los Angeles locations are well caught, and the song selection is winning.

Like the original "Rocky", the movie ends with a defeat that is really a victory, and this low-key finale proves to be a lot more satisfying than the bombast that infects most sports movies. If "Hammer" doesn't quite pack a wallop, it's a funny, engaging, loping journey along the sidelines of the sporting life.
