Exclusive: Independent Artist Group has elevated Nathan DeRemer to Partner, upping Anthony Marotto to Vice-President, Physical Production.
DeRemer began his career at APA in 2013 — prior to the agency’s merger with Artist Group International to form Iag — within three years rising through the ranks to TV Lit Agent. The Berkeley grad quickly established himself as a tastemaker in the department and was promoted to Vice President, Scripted Literary in 2021. In his time at Iag, he’s cultivated an eclectic roster of premium storytellers and brokered numerous multimillion dollar overall deals for clients at HBO, FX, Amazon, and Wbtv. He’s also spearheaded competitive spec sales that led to series orders at AMC and Freeform/Hulu, and recently had back-to-back seasons with pilot production orders at CBS (Jumpstart) and ABC (Forgive and Forget).

With Fire Country becoming a bonafide hit for CBS, the network doubles down on firefighter dramas. Apart from the potential Jared Padalecki-led spinoff and Sheriff Country, the network is developing a new firefighter series, Deadline reports. From Damon Wayans Jr, whose latest series, Poppa's House, will premiere this fall on CBS, Ten House is a New York-set drama series about the iconic Fdny Ten House. Today, Prime Video released the trailer and key art for Beyond Black Beauty, which was inspired by the iconic novel Black Beauty.
All eleven episodes of Beyond Black Beauty will be available on October 15 exclusively on Prime Video in the US and UK.
Beyond Black Beauty follows young equestrian Jolie Dumont, whose Olympic dreams are dashed when her mother moves them from Belgium to her family’s urban ranch in Baltimore. An angry Jolie wants to escape until she bonds with a spirited horse named Black Beauty.

Exclusive: CBS is looking to expand its firefighter drama footprint beyond the California-based Fire Country with the New York-set Ten House. The firehouse project, now in development, comes from Two Shakes Entertainment, Damon Wayans Jr.’s production company with Kameron Tarlow, and CBS Studios where the company has been based since its 2018 launch, recently renewing its first-look deal through May 2026.
Written by Pilar Golden, creator/executive producer of the upcoming Amazon Freevee series Beyond Black Beauty, Ten House takes place at the iconic Fdny Ten House. It follows two rookies as they grapple with their legacies as children of 9/11 first responders while navigating burgeoning feelings toward one another, the firehouse’s well-trained yet formidable veterans, and the demands of emergency response in the ever-changing yet always challenging city of New York.

Exclusive: NBC and Universal TV are developing Keats (w/t), a new drama series from Bassett Vance Productions, Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance’s production banner.
The duo executive produce the project alongside Bassett Vance Productions President, Lynnette Ramirez and writer Pilar Golden.
Keats follows Alex Keats, a fourth-generation police officer who walked away from the badge and her family, who returns to Philadelphia to bury her mother. Mom is a decorated officer who supposedly died by suicide. The closer Alex gets to discovering the truth about her mother’s death, the closer she gets to joining her family back on the force … where she belongs.
Bassett Vance Productions most recently produced the Showtime film Heist 88 written by Dwayne Johnson-Cochran, Bassett and Vance’s producing partner. Ramirez joined the company in 2021 with a focus on developing and uplifting Bipoc projects and storytellers.
