Chuck Norris is back in action with his latest movie role, now taking on the undead. He's one of the starring cast members of the upcoming film Zombie Plane, which has just gotten a major production update.

Per Variety, Zombie Plane has officially wrapped production with two new cast members revealed. Along with Chuck Norris, the film will also feature Ice-t (Law & Order: Svu) and Brian Austin Green. It was previously announced that rapper Vanilla Ice was also a part of the cast, with other stars including Sophie Monk and Sir Bob Geldof, as well as Australian celebrities Stephen Curry and Kyle Sandilands.

Remember those good old action comedies from the 90s and early aughts that didn't take themselves too seriously? There was something about them that felt like comfort food, right? Well, if you're in the mood for a bit of nostalgia, you're in luck, because filming has officially wrapped on Zombie Plane, a bizarre new action comedy that brings together the likes of Chuck Norris, Vanilla Ice, and Brian Autin Green to save the world from an undead outbreak.

Per Variety, principal photography is now in the can on Zombie Plane, which is set to hit theaters later this year. Also on board are Ice-t and Sophie Monk, who, like Norris, Ice, and Green, will play a version of themselves in the new action comedy. Variety reports that Ice-t and Brian Austin Green have joined the cast, which is led by Vanilla Ice, Sophie Monk, and Chuck Norris as fictionalized versions of themselves.

In Zombie Plane, celebrities are seen by day as the faces we know and love, but by night they are saving the world from under-wraps attacks. Led by Commander Chuck Norris, they stand between world peace and humanities’ destruction.

The film aims to combine the “comedy and heart of Shaun of the Dead with the suspense and horror of World War Z and the look and feel of Barbie.”

Ice-t shot his scenes on Australia’s Gold Coast, alongside Australian actor Stephen Curry, and a surprise cameo by one the country’s high-profile media personalities, Kyle Sandilands.

With the final scenes now shot, “Zombie Plane” will hit screens later this year, with release dates to be announced shortly. U.S. distribution will be headed up by Entertainment Squad, with its Australian theatrical release through Radioactive Pictures. Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier directed the film.

90’s pop icon Vanilla Ice stars as himself alongside Australia’s darling Sophie Monk, who is also playing herself in the upcoming action-comedy, Zombie Plane; which also boasts Chuck Norris, starring as Commander Chuck Norris, in the cast – who “mentored and trained Ice to be the deadly secret agent he is today”.

In Zombie Plane, a secret government agency recruits celebrities to be undercover agents, and together they save humanity from an imminent zombie attack.

The film, which is littered with celebrity cameos as well as well-known pop music from the 90s including Vanilla Ice’s own library, was shot earlier this year in Australia with the support of Screen Australia. Directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier, of Chop Shop Post, an established post-production and VFX company whose recent work includes Paramount+ ‘Last King of the Cross’ and Amazon’s ‘Troppo’.

Most filmmakers — even the likes of Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan — have likely had a “pinch me” moment on set when they’re watching some wild idea they once dreamed up come to life before their eyes. For Lav Bodnaruk, his moment arrived earlier this year in Australia while directing 1990s pop icon Vanilla Ice, who at the time was covered head to toe in blood and killing zombies with a drill.

“It was like, this is crazy,” he explains. “And Vanilla Ice was the same. He couldn’t believe that we were turning him into an action hero.”

The film in question, Zombie Plane, being sold at the AFM by Studio Dome and which Bodnaruk co-directed alongside Michael Mier, might not sound like it’s towards the serious end of the cinematic spectrum. And it isn’t. At all. And Ice isn’t even the only once big name appearing.

Palmolive has launched a TV campaign to promote its new foaming hand wash, Heavenly Hands.

The 30 second ad – titled Foam Is In The Air – was created by Gpy&R Sydney. Featuring a young girl blowing foam over a cityscape, the Tvc was produced by Taxi Film Production and directed by The Co-Op’s Michael Mier and Lav Bodnaruk.
