Eurydice Gysel started producing at CZAR.BE in 2000. The production company was just founded by Koen Mortier and quickly became one of the most creative ad production companies on the international market. In 2010 Eurydice became executive producer and manager of the company and since then co-jointly - with director/producer Koen Mortier - leads the fiction department CZAR FILM & TV. Furthermore, Eurydice Gysel is a member of the ACE Producers Network and the European Producers Club.
In 2006 and 2008, Eurydice produced "Ex Drummer" and "22nd of May", two feature films by Koen Mortier, which both enjoyed an extensive festival career. Afterwards she produced the feature film "Waste Land" by Pieter Van Hees (world premiere in TIFF), the documentary "Standby Painter" by Amir Yatziv and Guy Slabbinck (Visions du Réel Nyon), the feature film "Angel" by Koen Mortier (TIFF), the first feature film of Kenneth Mercken, "Coureur" (FFGhent, IFFR) and the first feature film "Rookie" by Lieven Van Baelen starring Veerle Baetens.
Eurydice also co-produced "Borgman" (in competition in Cannes), "Schneider vs. Bax" (Locarno) and "NR10", all directed by Alex van Warmerdam, "Supernova" by Tamar van den Dop (Generation Berlinale 2014), "L'étrange couleur des larmes de ton corps" by Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani (Locarno & TIFF).
In the meantime, there were also a number of intensive collaborations with the BBC, such as the series "The White Queen" and three seasons of the series "The Missing" (nominations for The Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards, BAFTA TV Awards). Including the 6-piece costume drama "Les Misérables" with Dominic West, David Oyelowo and Lily Collins.
In 2022 "Voices of Liberation", the 11-part documentary TV-series by Koen Mortier had its release on Netflix. In 2023, "Skunk"(based on the novel by Geert Taghon) a new feature by Koen Mortier premièred at the Tallin IFF in youth competition and won Best Film award and was a box office hit in Belgium and "Terril", a short film by Jorn Plucieniczak premièred at Doclisboa and won best documentary. The experimental film "The Anchor" premiered at DocLisboa 2024 and won two awards: 'International Competition Award' & 'The New Talent Award'.
For the moment "The Weeping Walk", the first feature by famous writer Dimitri Verhulst is in cinemas. In development are "Black Wolf" an animation feature by Raf Wathion. Our co-production with Frank Hoeve from Baldr Film "Garden of Earthly Delights" (Morgan Knibbe) is in postproduction and the other film "Joe Speedboot" by Sam de Jong is in production.
