You can't keep a good Jigsaw Killer down. Even though the artist formerly known as John Kramer (Tobin Bell) first showed up onscreen as a man with terminal cancer, and subsequently died in "Saw III," we're now nine sequels deep, and only one of them ("Spiral: From the Book of Saw") didn't include him in the cast somehow. Mostly this boils down to an ever-more-elaborate series of flashbacks, accomplices, copycats, and detailed instructions and recordings made for future deathtraps.
All of Jigsaw's traps are the last place you'd want to be, but they vary a lot in difficulty level. Some simply require following his instructions exactly while others involve either forgiving or murdering someone else. Still more depend on cooperation, and most of them deliver a twisted form of therapy, with the patient urged to get over their baggage in the next 30 seconds or so if they want to live.

The Flash arrived on the CW as an antidote to the heavy, bleak world of Arrow. Our Scarlet Speedster was going to be a bright, upbeat superhero series and it was—at first. With each successive season, it grew bleaker and more chaotic as an overstuffed cast all demanded screentime and the writing staff never seemed to grasp that there were other villains than those connected to the Speed Force.
The 2022-23 television season brought us The Flash’s ninth and final season, providing a chance to give closure to the core characters. Tomorrow, Warner Home Entertainment releases The Flash: The Complete Ninth and Final Season.
Across the truncated season, everyone had a moment to shine, get their due, take a bow and move aside so the Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Nora West Allen (Candice Patton) center got to have the last word as they finally welcomed Nora to the preset.

The Flash will end its nine-season run on The CW on Wednesday night, and writing the superhero series finale was a big task for showrunner Eric Wallace. The Flash is currently in the midst of its ninth and final season, but the series finale is quickly approaching. While speaking with TVLine, The Flash star Grant Gustin answered fan questions, including if he was happy with where Barry Allen ends up at the end of the series.
Grant Gustin replied that he was, but shared that he always imagined the series ending with Barry’s death. “When I thought about [The Flash] ending, there was a theory out there that Barry would sacrifice himself to keep the Speed Force alive and become the lightning bolt that inevitably struck him [in the pilot] and create this full circle moment, which I thought was really cool,” Gustin said. “I kinda always wanted him to die a hero’s death in a way, and Eric [Wallace] was very opposed to the idea, and we really wanted to see a happy ending for Barry and Iris.

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Season 9 Episode 4 of The Flash. The Flash has always liked redemption arcs that end in self-sacrifice, and Season 9, episode 4, "The Mask of the Red Death, Part One," presents another, maybe. Mark Blaine, Aka Chillblaine (Jon Cor), has gone back and forth between hero and villain throughout his time on the show, but it seems he went out a hero. And his appearance in "The Mask of the Red Death, Part One" is no different. But here he made a seemingly final choice by sacrificing himself to allow Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) to escape Red Death (Javicia Leslie) and her rogues, Captain Boomerang (Richard Harmon), Fiddler (Magda Apanowicz), Murmur (Alexandria Wailes), and Rainbow Raider (Paul Anthony). While Mark hasn't always been a fan-favorite, his assumed death does raise questions, most importantly: is he actually dead?...

Several The Flash cast members celebrate the official wrapping of the series finale. It's the end of an era for the Arrowverse as The Flash season 9 will conclude the last Earth-Prime-based series in the franchise. Currently, four episodes have aired of The Flash's swan-song season, with next week wrapping up the Red Death storyline.

The Flash's new big bad, the Red Death, has a confounding line in the latest episode of the Arrowverse series that actually serves as a fun reference to one of DC's most classic films. The speedster villain has made quite the impact in her first few episodes of the series, which is in the midst of its ninth and final season, proving the colossal threat that she poses to Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the other members of Team Flash. As the battle between the Red Death and the Flash heats up, the conniving villain manages to sneak in a nod to a beloved DC project.
The Flash revealed the Red Death's identity to be Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), the former Batwoman, during the third episode of the season. However, episode four, entitled "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 1," expands on this revelation, confirming that the villainous Wilder hails...

The Flash Season 9 Episode 3
The Flash‘s final season isn’t pulling any punches thus far—we’re three episodes in and the show’s already killed off a legacy character, introduced a new one wearing her face, and seen the arrival of a dangerous new speedster sporting some uncomfortable similarities to a certain Bat-based superhero from Gotham City. And the season’s third episode, titled “Rogues of War,” not only reveals the terrifying Red Death to be an evil version of Batwoman’s Ryan Wilder, but one of Team Flash’s own breaks bad, switching sides to join up with her team of C-list criminal henchmen out for some form of still-unspecified personal gain.
The thing is we know exactly what Mark Blaine wants for changing sides: A chance to somehow resurrect his dead girlfriend Frost, who sacrificed her own life to...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Flash Season 9 Episode 2, “Hear No Evil.”] In its final season, The Flash kills off a character who had been part of its DNA since before the series premiere (having appeared in an episode of Arrow first). “Hear No Evil” reveals that the plan to try to bring back Frost (Danielle Panabaker) resulted in Caitlin’s (also Panabaker’s) death. Someone new, going by Snow (also Panabaker), emerged, but Mark (Jon Cor) remains determined to resurrect Frost. When it becomes clear that Snow can go back into the Crc, but only Caitlin or Frost can be brought back, there’s a vote, but in the end, they leave it up to Snow to decide. She chooses herself — honoring Caitlin since “she created a person with feeling and free will” — and her new name: Khione. The end of the episode also saw Red Death (after using the villains working for her...

What a tumultuous time it is to be a fan of DC TV and movies. Aside from the fact that the Dceu was a mass of chaotic energy almost from the word go, there’s also been the ongoing confusion about the multiversal aspects: the multiple Batmen and Jokers, the fact that the TV shows have nothing to do with the movies, the fact that entire movies simply ceased to exist and were banished to limbo after they had already wrapped, never to be seen by mortal eyes.
And then there have been the rumors (so many rumors), the false starts, and the closing of longstanding movie and TV legacies as new DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran begin to lay out their own new vision for their Dcu of the future.
Despite all of that, 2023 is a veritable bounty of riches for fans of DC movies and TV shows.

"Your family needs you." "My family needs me? What about when I needed you…" An early teaser trailer is out for a film titled Goliath, a Canadian feature that has been in the works for years already. It's finally set to release on VOD starting in February this year, after first premiering in 2019. When Robin Walker returns home for her father's funeral, she's forced to confront the bitter family she left behind, as well as personal demons; resulting in the reveal of an unsettling secret. "Goliath was the ultimate film school," states the first-time director Luke Villemaire. "We took the trial by fire approach that many first-time filmmakers are forced to endure when struggling to break into the industry. It was incredibly tolling, but I was determined to see this project through, and it has ultimately been a rewarding experience." This was originally shot back in 2016 in Quinte West, Ontoario and nearby areas.
