Eric Reid(VII)
- Producer
- Camera and Electrical Department
Eric Reid is one of the entertainment industry's most prolific executives and carries a lifelong passion for music. A rare triple expert in studio operations and finance, creative production and marketing, and transactional law, Reid has built a decades-long career and respected catalog of film, television, and music.
As an original member and the Co-CEO of Lakeshore Entertainment, Reid played an integral role in growing the company into a global leader in film production, finance, sales, and distribution. Reid leveraged his creativity and business talent to bring over 60 films to audiences worldwide, including the four-time Academy Award-winning Million Dollar Baby, the Underworld franchise, and The Lincoln Lawyer. He ran Lakeshore's international distribution arm and oversaw the exponential growth of Lakeshore's film and television library, substantial music publishing catalog, and Lakeshore Records - the country's leading independent soundtrack label. Reid led the sale of Lakeshore's businesses in 2019, which included the company's 350-title library. In 2020, drawing on his experience as a musician - and his passion for cycling on Zwift - Reid recognized the need for a collaborative, experiential platform that would enable musicians to play together in a metaverse and produce music from anywhere in the world. He formed Roar Studios to bring together a rockstar group of engineers and artists all sharing the same passionate goal of changing the landscape for musicians worldwide.
A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Reid was an early MTV asset during the wild west of 1980s music video production. He obtained his J.D. from New York University's School of Law.
