This week on CBS’ FBI (Tuesday, 8/7c), a romantic getaway for Oa and Gemma goes off the rails — perhaps literally? — due to the actions of a team of hijackers.

In the 14th episode of Season 7, titled “Hitched,” Special Agent Omar Adom “Oa” Zidan (played by original cast member Zeeko Zaki) and his girlfriend of over a year, Gemma Brooks (Billions‘ Comfort Clinton, in her sixth FBI appearance), are heading to Niagara Falls on a passenger train when it is hijacked and rerouted.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented it inaugural Excellence in Production Technology prize to Season 2 of The Santa Clauses and presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to William Wang, the founder and CEO of Vizio.

Filmmaker Eric Branco, best known for his work as a cinematographer on films like Clemency and The 40-Year-Old Version, has signed on to make his feature directorial debut with the drama Silent Partner for Black Man Films

Based on a short film of the same name, Silent Partner is written by actor and Black Man Films co-founder Roderick Lawrence, James J. Johnson, and Branco. The pic follows a Black attorney in New York who is thrust into a stand-your-ground case by a senior partner. He is asked to defend a white woman who has murdered a Black teen. The story focuses on the attorney’s moral struggle, his relationship with his wife, and the black professional experience of microaggressions in the workplace and systemic racism in the justice system. The film began production last week in New York City. Cast features Roderick Lawrence, Susan Heyward, Eric Nelsen, and Jeff Perry.

We now know when Magnum P.I. will officially end. A promo released this week revealed the drama series will return from its holiday break on January 3, and we’ve learned it will conclude with a two-episode series finale from 9-11 pm.

As we reported in June, NBC opted not to order additional episodes beyond the 20-episode fifth season picked up last year.

Magnum P.I.'s showrunner says the upcoming series finale will be a satisfying conclusion for fans.

The reboot series producer Eric Guggenheim spoke to Collider about NBC's abrupt decision to end the Jay Hernandez-led show as its final run of episodes for Season 5 are currently airing. Though the upcoming finale titled "The Big Squeeze" was not filmed intentionally as a conclusion to the series, Guggenheim believes that the audience that supported Magnum since its CBS years will be pleased with the ending. "In the case of this season, the finale was not written to be a series finale, but because we hadn’t gotten a pickup, we did take that possibility into consideration as we were crafting it," Guggenheim said.

CBS canceled the series after season 4 due to a negotiation breakdown with Universal Television over the license fee for the reboot. Another network or streaming service may pick it up, but as of now, season 6 is unlikely.

Two big questions need to be answered as Magnum P.I. faces what's likely to be its final ten episodes.

When did its producers find out the end was coming? It was announced to the public in late June, but those involved with the series had to know long before that.

And did that give them any opportunity to tie storylines up at all? Since all of its episodes were in the can when NBC decided to divide the season into two ten-episode blocks, probably not.

When Stephen Hill (T.C.) did an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic in mid-April, he remained optimistic about the show's future.
