Exclusive: Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding), Malin Akerman (The Heartbreak Kid) and Brian Austin Green have wrapped shoot in the Bahamas on under-the-radar rom-com Perfectly Imperfect, which heralds from Eta Films, Beno Films, Jnw Films and Al Bravo Films.

Joseph Nathan Weisman makes his feature directorial debut from an original screenplay by Wendi Coates (Camp Cool Kids) and Michael Varrati (Christmas with You).

The rom-com follows Jake (Mulroney), a by the numbers single dad, who sets off on a cruise with his quirky family and his childhood friend Reuben (Green). Onboard, he unexpectedly crosses paths with Meg (Akerman), a woman he once had an awkward date with on the mainland. As they get a second chance to connect, Jake and Meg discover that while neither of them is perfect, they might actually be perfectly imperfect for each other. Above and below are first-look images.

Saban Films has acquired the rights to Art Camacho’s action thriller “Ruthless” starring Dermot Mulroney and Javier Reyna’s “Palido” starring Kellan Lutz.

Saban will distribute the titles throughout North America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Benelux and Australia. Jonathan Saba, Cco of Saban Films, negotiated the deal with Devin Carter, SVP of sales at Premiere Entertainment.

“Ruthless” follows a high school coach (Mulroney) who takes matters into his own hands by going after the men who kidnap his female student for their human trafficking operation, according to a snyopsis.

In addition to Mulroney, “Ruthless” also stars Jeff Fahey. Reyna, James Dean Simington and Camacho penned the film, while Elias Axume, Al Bravo, HemDee Kiwanuka and Camacho produced the film.

“Palido” follows an attorney (Lutz) with a military past, who focuses on finding and killing the gang that murdered his wife and kidnapped his daughter.

Eyeconic Pictures, the recently formed production company from Al Bravo and Niko Foster, has announced that Mena Suvari (“American Beauty”) has joined the cast of action thriller “The Wrecker,” which stars Foster.

Tyrese Gibson (“The Fast and Furious” movie franchise) and Harvey Keitel (“Reservoir Dogs”) were previously announced to the cast. Chad Michael Collins, Ego Mikitas and Danny Trejo round out the key cast.

Production is currently taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Art Camacho is directing from an original screenplay by Foster, which follows a dishonorably discharged ex-marine named Tony, now turned car mechanic, whose life takes an unexpected turn when his reckless brother makes a bad decision gaining the unwanted attention of a notorious crime boss.

UFC fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone stars in the upcoming zombie film Project Legion, which is set to receive a theatrical release on October 7th, with an Apple TV release following just four days later on October 11th. With those dates just a few weeks away, a trailer for Project Legion has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.

Lance Kawas (Good Thief) directed Project Legion from a screenplay he crafted with John Sullivan, Michael Pizzimenti, and James Raptoplous. Apparently they put together quite an epic, because Apple has the movie listed with a running time of 2 hours and 38 minutes. The story told over those 158 minutes has the following synopsis:

Feral creatures that prey on humans have descended upon the city. A furious fight for survival begins as the outside world descends into chaos and a former Marine (UFC superstar Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone), barricaded inside his apartment, prepares to come out fighting.

Exclusive: Fortress star Kelly Greyson has joined the cast of Mr-9, the Frank Grillo-starring spy action-thriller adapted from the James Bond-influenced Masud Rana novels.

Greyson will play Gia, lead henchwoman and mistress of villain Roman Ross, who is being played by Captain America star Grillo.

Greyson has just starred in Fortress and Fortress 2 alongside the likes of Bruce Willis and Chad Michael Murray. Past credits include Mike Burns’ Out of Death, in which she also co-starred with Willis, Guy Pearce-starring action thriller Disturbing the Peace and Broken Memories.

Deadline revealed Mr-9 from writer-director Asif Akbar last month, with shooting kicking off in the U.S. and Bangladesh.

The film currently in production centers on Diane (Harden) and Kate (Sage) — mother and daughter and inseparable friends, whose lives are turned upside down when mom announces her engagement to a mystery man (Quinn) that she’s been dating for only a few weeks. Grillo’s son Remy Grillo will make his acting feature debut on the project which is shooting in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Exclusive: Captain America, The Purge and Copshop star Frank Grillo is set to star in action movie Mr-9, which is shooting imminently in the U.S. and Bangladesh.

Writer-director Asif Akbar’s spy action-thriller is based on the popular Masud Rana novels written by late novelist Qazi Anwar Hussain. Plot details are being kept under wraps but we understand Grillo will play the nemesis of secret agent Rana — code name Mr-9 — of the Bangladesh Counter Intelligence Agency.

The film is adapted from the original first novel Masud Rana: Dhonghsho Pahar (Demolition Hill). Hussain published 550 novels published in the series, which is influenced by the James Bond franchise.

Bangladeshi production company Jaaz Multimedia, LA-based Al Bravo Films and Mr-9 Films have joined forces to get the film into production. Producers are Al Bravo, Hemdee Kiwanuka, Colin Bates, Akbar, Philip Tan and Abdul Aziz with executive producers Niko Foster, Peter Nguyen and Phillip B. Goldfine.

Exclusive: Jason Patric (Speed 2) and Cam Gigandet (Twilight) have been set to star in action-thriller movie Shrapnel.

The project will see a former Marine and his old war buddy face off against the Mexican cartel behind the disappearance of his daughter.

Currently in production in the U.S., director is William Kaufman (The Hit List) and script comes from Chad Law and Johnny Walters.

Producers are Elias Axume of Premiere Entertainment and Al Bravo of Al Bravo Films. BondIt Media Capital and Buffalo 8 are also part of the production team. Premiere will handle international sales.

Also starring are Clifton Powell (Ray) and Valery M. Ortiz (2 Minutes of Fame). The film is about the spirit of La Llorona granting a costly wish to the parents of a child by curing her of cancer. In saving the child, the mother of the child suffers the consequences by losing her beloved husband and becoming more evil until she pledges her allegiance to La Llorona. The father (Howard) spirals down the path of self-destruction after borrowing hard money from a ruthless mobster to pay the hospital bills for his daughter. Deals have been done for Germany (Tiberius), Latin America (California Filmes), Australia (Rialto), Japan (New Select) and Scandinavia (Scanbox).

Asif Akbar directed the film, which Peg also produced, in which White plays a DEA agent who returns with Ptsd after a botched mission, He has to protect his family from a home invasion when a recenty released convict (Rourke) and his henchmen come after their stash of millions hidden inside the agent’s home.
