Trail of Blood (2011)
Trail of Blood
Trail of Blood (2011)
Trail Of Blood may be presented by Joe Dante – who is attached as a producer – but it is written and directed by Joseph and Justin Guerrieri, marking the duo’s feature directorial debut.

The story follows Jim Lerner, a young U.S. Marine, and his six friends as they go on a weekend camping trip. Deep in the woods they stumble upon, of all things, the mutilated corpses of another vacationing couple. They then meet the “Angel of Death” – really just a disturbed war veteran – who mistakes them for the killers, takes them hostage, and forces them into a series of traumatizing mind games that push them to, and possibly over, the edge.

The official website claims “Their maddening fight for survival will uncover the darkest parts of humanity and leave you breathless,” but you can watch the trailer – a montage of guns, knives, blood and one-liners – and be the judge of that yourself…...

Joe Dante Follows a Trail of Blood to Some New Artwork
Some pretty nifty stuff has come in regarding Joe Dante's next film ... well next film as a producer any way. The man himself is getting ready to present to hungry horror fans a good old fashioned slasher flick and the first teaser art is in!

Trail of Blood has been directed by the duo of Joseph Guerrieri and Justin Guerrieri and the flick stars Robert Picardo, Tim Barraco, Kandis Erickson, Mackenzie Mason and Maggie VandenBerghe. Trevor Torseth (Lake Dead) plays "the Marine."

Synopsis

Jim Lerner, a young Marine enlistee, is enjoying a camping trip deep in a California forest with a group of friends when they realize they are lost. They encounter an Iraq war veteran named Dallas and his girlfriend, Chastity, who are on a sadistic killing spree. Dallas is determined to re-enact the horrors of war on his young victims. A maverick FBI agent is on the trail of the killers,...

Grizzly Flats and Believing the Unbelievable: A Movie Review
*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by director Anthony Frankhauser.

Director: Anthony Fankhauser.

Writers: Joe Benkis and Anthony Fankhauser.

Grizzly Flats was previously called Shadow People and this film stars Danielle De Luca (Necrosis), Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club), Maggie VandenBerghe (Hierarchy) and Ryan Karloff. These actors and characters inhabit a surreal world, which is inhabited by weird shapes and baby shaped gourds. There are elements of the strangeness here and the film makes some connections with the hallucinogenic properties of certain drugs. Not really a pro-drug film and not real an anti-drug film, Grizzly Flats is an interesting look at a bizarre world, not seen by this reviewer before.

Karloff plays Sylvain, a man with a portal to another dimension. Somehow this part time scientist has altered reality with help from a wood burning stove, vacuum tubes and air hoses. This critic needs to make one of these.

Model Maggie VandenBerghe Staging Noteworthy Film Debut In "Aliens In The Attic"
In the summer blockbuster fluster, it is easy to overlook promising acting talent when large explosions and high speed car chases overwhelm in spectacle. Rookie model-turned-actress Maggie VandenBerghe hopes her pending introduction to feature film audience won't be similarly eclipsed when 20th Century Fox's Aliens in the Attic premiers this July 31.

The movie follows the comedic mishaps of a vacationing family in Maine as they interact with houseguests from outer space. In a bid to lay claim to the vacation home, a series of human v. alien skirmishes ensue.

On her role as Annie Filkins, the former model expresses the experience was a "dream come true."

Maggie adds, "It feels so good to work hard for what you want, and to be able to do what you love. I couldn't be happier about being on set at WB and working with Robert Hoffman and Ashley Tisdale. I am so endlessly...
