Soccer Aid for Unicef 2025 Raises Over £15 Million
Image
Soccer Aid for Unicef 2025, broadcast live and exclusively on ITV1, Itvx, Stv and Stv Player last week from Old Trafford, Manchester, has raised £15,280,163 for Unicef's vital work helping children grow up safe, healthy and able to play.

This year, with thanks to the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, every donation made up to £5 million was doubled. Thanks to the generous UK public, this year’s fundraising amount sees the current total reach over £121million raised since 2006 – when Unicef UK Ambassador Robbie Williams founded the concept.

The hotly anticipated match took place at the sold-out Old Trafford football stadium in Manchester to an audience of over 70,000 people. The match ended 5-4 to World XI Fc, stealing the win back and keeping the overall lead with 8-6 wins since the inaugural 2006 match.

Kicking off the game, Sam Thompson officially completed his ‘Match Ball Mission’, which saw the ball travel over 270 miles by...

Carlos Tevez on Maradona tribute: 'I knew I'd score'
Carlos Tevez
Buenos Aires, Dec 4 (Ians) Carlos Tevez has revealed he broke a framed display case to use an old Diego Maradona shirt in Boca Juniors' 1-0 Copa Libertadores victory over Brazil's Internacional.

Tevez scored the only goal of the match in Wednesday's round-of-16 first leg in Porto Alegre and he celebrated by taking off his shirt to reveal a Boca jersey worn by Maradona in 1981, reports Xinhua news agency.

The 36-year-old former Argentina international forward said he had also travelled to Brazil with another Boca shirt worn by Maradona in the 1990s.

"I had to tear up the cases to get the shirts out," he said. "It was the best way to honour him. With this shirt that I love so much."

Tevez, who made his professional debut for Boca aged 16 in 2001, said he felt a unique energy while wearing the 1981 jersey.

"The shirt is heavy...When I put it on,...

To counter the losses, there will be a big injection of new content, from Netflix originals to CW dramas to new movies.

With all of the changes, it's challenging to keep track of what's coming and going.

That's why we've rounded up all the information for you below.

Jane the Virgin and iZombie are about to wrap their runs on The CW, meaning that during the month of August, all five seasons of each series will be available to stream.

Glow will be back for its highly anticipated third season, while Dear White People will serve up another humorous season.

The highly anticipated martial arts drama, Wu Assassins, will also receive its premiere during the month of August.

The list of departures is not quite as severe as what left in July, with it mostly being filled with older movies.

10 Players Who Probably Regret Leaving West Ham
Sean Dempsey/Pa Archive

West Ham United may have spent the first six months of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign in the top half of the table, but experiencing such lofty heights has been a rare occurrence in previous years.

Since 1993, the East London outfit have only finished in eighth position or above on three occasions, something which was last achieved during 2001-2002 when the likes of Michael Carrick, Joe Cole and Jermain Defoe plied their trade for the Hammers.

Despite twice being relegated to the second tier of English football since that year, West Ham have always been considered an attractive option for players looking to impress in the Premier League, but like with many clubs, they find themselves in the position of acting as a stepping stone for players who believe their future lies elsewhere.

In some cases, that has been inevitable. When Alan Pardew pulled off one...

10 Reasons Why Man City Fans Are Jealous Of Man United
Jon Super/AP/Press Association Images

When Manchester City unveiled the huge billboard of Carlos Tevez in their sky blue kit, Manchester United fans probably couldn’t help themselves but laugh. They had just won an 18th league title equalling bitter rivals Liverpool’s record and reached the Champions League Final for a second season in a row. Here was a player whose contract had ran out and for some reason or another Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t want to keep.

Manchester City had thrown a load of money at a sulky striker (£150,000 a week as per The Independent) and he became the first player to make the switch across town since Terry Cooke in 1999. And how City made the most of it, attempting to rub salt in the somewhat small United wound. Finally there was a chance to get one over the biggest team in Manchester, a chance to...

6 Players You Didn’t Know Juventus Almost Signed
Michael Steele/Empics Sport

After last years double winning, Champions League runners-up season, Juventus are looking to rebuild their side. With Andrea Pirlo leaving for the Mls, Carlos Tevez returning to Boca Juniors and Arturo Vidal on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich, some new faces will need to arrive for Massimiliano Allegri’s team. Having already been linked with the likes of Chelsea’s Oscar and Bayern’s World Cup winning Mario Gotze in this transfer window, a summer of huge spending could be on the cards.

But enough about this transfer window, we want to take a look at previous windows and the players that have been linked with a move to the Serie A side.

The most successful club in Italian football have won 58 trophies over their 117 year history, whilst also having some of the biggest names in football wear that Notts County inspired kit.

‘Homesick’ Carlos Tevez Tells Juventus He Wants Boca Juniors Return
Luca Bruno/AP

Carlos Tevez is the latest star who could be leaving Turin following Juventus’ defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League final, with reports suggesting a move to Boca Juniors is on the cards.

The Daily Mail claim the Argentine forward has told his club that he wants to return to his homeland this summer and sign for the team where it all began.

Tevez, who still has a year remaining on his contract with The Old Lady, scored 26 goals in 75 appearances and if a return were to occur, it would be likely that the striker would out-do that tally with ease having scored 20 in a Serie A winning campaign in 2014/2015.

Currently lining-up for Argentina as they attempt to win back the Copa America trophy, the former Man Utd is rumoured to be homesick after a storied career around Europe.

FIFA 16: 21 Hugely Underrated Players That Need Fixing
Tim Ireland/AP

One of the most exciting points in a FIFA game isn’t always the newest additions – like the ‘realistic goalkeepers’ last year that churned out some of the worst shot-stoppers in the franchise’s history – but is in fact the new and updated player ratings.

There’ll always be both overrated and underrated players, because subjectivity dictates it, but the ones that really frustrate tend to come with players that the whole world know the true value of. Look at Carlos Tevez for example, 86 Ovr in Fifa 14, gets a Tots card, and yet somehow he ends up getting a downgrade in FIFA 15 to 85. How exactly do they work that out?

For those who play Ultimate Team as their primary game mode, the player ratings are pivotal in how much a player will end up costing: the difference between being able to afford them or being well out of your budget.

11 Players That Signed For West Ham Twice
Tom Honan/Empics Sport

The quality of football has always been of prime importance to West Ham fans, We have rarely seen success throughout our history and that’s fine. Since the success of Ron Greenwood’s West Ham team of the 1960s, we have seldom been close to traditional success.

Over these years though, we have seen some fantastic West Ham teams, players and performances and that’s what West Ham is all about. The fans long for good looking football and exciting, passionate players. Player’s such as Paolo Di Canio and Carlos Tevez have lit up Upton Park in more recent years for this very reason, and have both stated their love of the club.

The experiences players have endured through their times with West Ham have stuck with them, along with a strong feeling of togetherness and an admiration of the club and it’s fans.

Newcastle: Another Embarrassing Pardew Story Emerges
Daniel Hambury/Empics Sport

Sometimes it’s hard to resist the temptation to put the boot in, but Alan Pardew’s career is often the gift that just keeps on giving. He’s head-butted players, used ill-advised sexual violence language on Match Of The Day, endorsed punishment for Carlos Tevez that included making him wear a Brazil top, and has fought off rumours about his love life for years. Even if some of the things that emerge in the press and on forums aren’t true – and there’s a good chance that a good deal of them are plucked out of the air – Pardew is such a divisive figure that it’s seemingly irresistible to pass them on, which is usually where the lawyers get involved.

But ignoring all of those well-trodden stories and controversial rumours for a minute, an old story has once more emerged in conversation with a fellow disgruntled Newcastle fan,...

Newcastle: Rio Ferdinand Suggests Why Pardew Hated Carlos Tevez
Mike Egerton/Empics Sport

For all of his lack of grasp of tactics, system changes and the nuances of flair players, the one constant in Alan Pardew’s career has been his preference for hard-working players who will give everything for the cause. That’s why he’s said so much recently about the fighting spirit of the squad, and how hard everyone is working to “try” and turn things round: he paints a picture of an engine straining to change results, because that’s his ideal picture of a football team.

This is the man, remember, who played Hayden Mullins ahead of Javier Mascherano and basically forced the Argentinian out of the door at West Ham after just months by simply ignoring that he existed – as best he could. His preference for players like Cheick Tiote – all fire and fearsome tackles – over Vurnon Anita – a proper technical footballer with...

9 Most Ridiculous Panic Buys On Transfer Deadline Day
Martin Rickett/Pa Archive/Press Association Images

Strange things can happen on transfer deadline day. Jim White pretends to be on the phone in the middle of broadcasting and is somehow proclaimed a legend; Julian Faubert somehow convinced Real Madrid to sign him, and Alan Pardew once stood flanked by Javier Mascherano and a particularly bemused looking Carlos Tevez with West Ham shirts.

It’s also a day for frantic phone calls, ludicrous over-valuations and the kind of deals that must have had everyone involved beetroot red with embarrassment in the years since. But the end of the transfer window is called silly season for a reason, and it’s all down to the lack of logic that meets over-excitement and hype in a perfect storm to lead to the likes of Fernando Torres moving to Chelsea for approximately £40m more than he turned out to be worth.

With that in mind,...

10 Moments That Define Mario Balotelli’s Career
Mike Egerton/Pa Wire/Press Association Images

The news that the British media have been pining for since January 2012 is finally upon us – Mario Balotelli is returning. Having sold one troublesome maverick this summer, Brendan Rodgers feels that he can tame the man who once set a firework off in his bathroom on the eve of a Mancunian derby. There is no denying the 24 year old’s class, but the Italian is so often wrapped in a ball of controversy, that he is almost always a moment away from crossing the border from genius into liability territory.

Jose Mourinho and Roberto Mancini are both experienced in their field of expertise, and have successfully dealt with some loose canons in their time, but even they struggled with the enigma that was Mario. Behind that brash, arrogant exterior lies a truly gifted player capable of challenging the world’s top strikers, but...

Man City Transfers: 10 Players Screwed By Citizens’ Ludicrous Transfer Policies
Martin Rickett/Pa Archive/Press Association Images

Manchester City have spent hundreds of millions of pounds on transfers since Sheikh Mansour and his Abu Dhabi United Group’s multi-million pound takeover of the club in 2008, with over £1 billion being spent within the first three years of ownership alone, according to reports.

Money has been no object where the middle east private equity company are concerned and they wasted no time in making their financial muscle known with the 2009 summer transfer window ending with City as the biggest spenders in the Premier League, bringing in the likes of Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, and Joleon Lescott.

The club’s transfer policy of ‘spend, spend, spend’ whatever the cost has reaped its rewards, with the Citizens winning two Premier League titles in the six years since the takeover – in 2012 and 2014. Some of the world’s greatest...

Newcastle Transfers: What’s The Best Solution To Ben Arfa’s Saga?
David Davies/Pa Archive/Press Association Images

Let’s be perfectly frank here, Ben Arfa is not wanted at Newcastle United, and no amount of shouting his name at away games, or accusing Alan Pardew of idiocy over his treatement is going to change that. Rightly or wrongly, the player is deemed a toxic influence at the club, with poor on-field impact not matching up to his undoubted, unquantifiable talent, and rumours that he is something of a diva around the training ground.

Make no mistake, the Frenchman has not simply been relegated to play with the kids because he is carrying a little too much timber, and the manager’s assertions that his professionalism leaves a lot to be desired is a hint of what he’s really like behind closed doors. But the real question for Newcastle fans is how far a player of such monumental talent – and...

10 Players You Didn’t Know West Ham Almost Signed
Manu Fernandez/AP/Press Association Images

West Ham have never strangers to the bizarre. Sports media outlets came to a virtual standstill on transfer deadline day eight years ago, when following the 2006 World Cup, Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez - two of the most sought after youngsters in world football, and linked with a host of top clubs – defied everyone to become Hammers. Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal had been sniffing around the duo for the best part of 18 months, so there were jaws on the floor when press photos emerged of the immensely talented pair holding up Hammers jerseys, sandwiching a beaming Alan Pardew, who could hardly believe his luck. (That he decided neither were good enough within a matter of ludicrous months is neither here nor there).

Gazumping the elite clubs on that particular occasion must have come as quite a welcome shock to West Ham supporters,...

10 Strangest Ever Man City Transfers
John Walton/Empics Sport

Ever since the Abu Dhabi United Group’s £200 million buyout of the club in 2008, Manchester City have been one of the Premier League’s most active sides in subsequent transfer windows, with £300 million being spent on new players in the first three years of the new regime alone.

The likes of Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany, Carlos Tevez and David Silva have been brought in to spearhead the Citizen’s ground-breaking ascent to the top of the English game in recent years, as the Sky Blues have dramatically transformed from midtable also-rans to Premier League champions.

Money has not been an object in persuading some of the world’s best footballers to join the Etihad revolution, but not every transfer City have made in the last six years has been successful, and some very strange decisions indeed have been made by the top brass at Etihad Stadium.

5 Candidates For Spurs Captaincy If Michael Dawson Leaves
Media Image Ltd

If, as expected, Michael Dawson leaves Spurs this summer (with the likes of Hull City, Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United and Crystal Palace reportedly interested in the player and with him generally being considered to be surplus to Mauricio Pochettino’s requirements), who could replace him as club captain?

Dawson has been with the White Hart Lane club since the start of 2005, when he arrived from Nottingham Forest in a combined £8 million deal with former team-mate Andy Reid – and he had a much more successful stint at the club than the Irish midfielder.

The Northallerton-born centre back has made 322 appearances for Spurs and was the club’s Player of the Year in the 2009/10 season. He has made 4 appearances in an England shirt during his time at the club, was described by Carlos Tevez (then of Manchester City) as “the best English defender I have played against...

Nemanja Vidic Set To Leave Manchester United Next Summer
Scott Heppell/AP/Press Association Images

Nemanja Vidic’s agent has sensationally ruled out a contract extension at Old Trafford this summer, increasing speculation he’ll leave for nothing this summer.

In an interview with Radio Crc in Napoli, Silvano Martina said he doesn’t expect the defender to renew, and hinted that there had already been strong interest in his signature.

Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him …. Vidic is a very good player and will have no trouble finding a new club. For the time being we are remaining calm. However, at the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United.

The 32-year-old club captain has been at the heart of United’s defence this season once more. However, early-season sciatica has been among a couple of niggling injuries that have curtailed his playing time somewhat. AC Milan and Juventus are believed...

Premier League Transfers: Top 7 Signings Of The Season So Far
Media Image Ltd

One of the highlights of the footballing calender year is without a doubt the summer transfer window and the prospect of seeing a new star man at your club, and even else where if you are a proper football fan.

The arrival of the likes of Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez in his West Ham United days and even Luis Suarez (Biting aside) in the Premier League surely left the majority of fans anticipating the talent they had to provide on the pitch, but lets not forget Robinho, it never always works out!

However, it’s not just about big money being spent to “buying yourself to glory” as such, Michael Ballack made a high profile move to Stamford Bridge and not a penny was spent, and the same could be said for the likes of Mark Schwarzer, Sol Campbell and Jay Jay Okocha to Fulham, Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers respectively.

Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Preparing Fernando Llorente Loan Deal
Media Image Ltd

According to Goal, Arsenal are preparing to add depth to their strikeforce with the addition of Juventus striker Fernando Llorente in January.

Despite being top of the Premier League, five points clear of the rest of the top four, many have doubted whether Arsenal can actually become real title contenders this season.

Manager, Arsene Wenger intends to prove these critics wrong and finally add a second first-team striker to his team in hopes that they can continue their run well into the new year.

The London-based club currently have just one out and out striker in Olivier Giroud, which is one of the main reasons why critics doubt Arsenal’s chances. With that being said the club’s midfield have been unstoppable with Aaron Ramsey, Santi Carzola and Mesut Ozil all in sensational form.

The same source claims that should Arsenal be unsuccessful in their attempt to sign Llorente,...

Arsenal Transfer News: Fernando Llorente Wants Gunners Move
Media Image Ltd

Fernando Llorente wants to join Arsenal in January in order to save his World Cup dream, according to the Mirror.

The Juventus striker only joined the Turin club this summer after leaving Athletic Bilbao but has found first team opportunities difficult to come by since moving to Italy.

Former Manchester City ace Carlos Tevez is currently above the 28-year-old in the pecking order, and with Llorente desperate to get regular playing time to break into the Spain squad, Arsenal have been put on alert.

The Gunners are keen to add to their strike force in the January window, and are weighing up the possibility of a loan move for the Juve man, which would seem to suit both parties.

Arsenal view Llortene as a “stop-gap” and are looking for more long-term options up front, but with Lukas Podolski out until the New Year, realise they are light in attack.

Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Eyeing Fernando Llorente On Loan
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will resolve his side’s striker shortage by bringing in Fernando Llorente on loan in January, according to the Mirror.

Wenger is desperate to bolster his forward line with Oliver Giroud the only fit senior striker at the club, as Lukas Podolski has been ruled out until the New Year through injury.

The veteran French boss sees Llorente as an ideal stop-gap option, and though Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is still on his radar, the Juventus hit-man represents the more realistic target.

Wenger may even attempt to secure Llorente on a loan deal, which would seem to suit all parties with Juve leaving the former Athletic Bilbao man on the bench since his summer arrival.

Carlos Tevez, another summer arrival after joining from Manchester City, is currently ahead of the 28-year-old in the pecking order.

Llorente is desperate for first team football in a World Cup...

Juventus have had two fantastic seasons. In the 2012/13 season Juventus went unbeaten. This past season again, saw them win the Serie A. Manager Antonio Conte has worked wonders with the Italian side since taking over in 2011, they play attractive football and have some massive names playing for the club.

Obviously the Champions...

Serie A Round-Up: Matchday 2
After a thrilling start to Serie A last weekend, the action continued in similar fashion as goals were scored all across the league. 11 goals were scored in the 2 matches on Saturday and there were no goalless draws in the entire weekend.

Napoli picked up their second consecutive victory with a 4-2 win at Chievo. Hamsik gave the visitors the lead but Paloschi equalised 10 minutes later. Callejon put Napoli ahead again but Paloschi scored his second of the game to send the sides into the interval on level terms. In the second-half, Hamsik got his second of the game to restore Napoli’s lead before Gonzalo Higuain scored his first Serie A goal to secure the points.

Also on Saturday, Juventus continued their 100% start with a 4-1 victory against Lazio. Vidal fired Juventus into a 2 goal lead with a brace before Miroslav Klose pulled one back for Lazio. Vucinic restored Juve...

Man Utd Transfer News: Juventus Told Nani’s Price Is €13m
Juventus have been told they’ll have to shell out €13 million (£11.2 million) for out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani, according to reports.

The 26-year-old has been out of favour for a while, and with United linked to a host of midfielders, he’s expected to leave before the end of the transfer window. He made a mere 10 appearances last term, and was dismissed in their ignominious Champions League exit against Real Madrid last spring.

Nani’s contract is up for renewal next summer, and United will be hoping to recoup some of the €25.5 million (£22 million) they spent on bringing the winger from Sporting four years ago, as they’ll get nothing if the players contract runs out.

A number of other Italian clubs, and French sides Monaco and Psg are also reportedly interested in acquiring the creative Portuguese international, who’ll be eager to be playing regularly ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Serie A Round Up
Domestic football returned to Italy this weekend, bringing a few surprises. With teams across the league strengthening in the Summer it looks to be a competitive year in Italy and one we should all keep an eye on.

By far the biggest surprise of the opening weekend came on Saturday, where recently promoted Hellas Verona shocked AC Milan and the football world by securing a 2-1 victory. Pirlo gave AC Milan the lead, with his side squandering many chances before he finally put one away. Luca Toni headed in an equaliser on the half hour mark before he got his second of the game, and the winner, in the 53rd minute.

In the only other game on Saturday, Sampdoria lost 1-0 at home to Juventus. New arrival Carlos Tevez scored the decisive goal in his Serie A debut to ensure the travelling supporters saw their side get their campaign off to the best possible start.

Norwich Transfer News: Canaries To Sign Fabio Quagliarella?
Norwich manager Chris Hughton is set to continue his summer overhaul of the club by signing Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella, according to the Mirror.

Hughton has already made five signings this summer after adding forwards Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper, midfielders Nathan Redmond and Leroy Fer, and left-back Martin Olsson to the squad so far.

And now the former Birmingham boss wants to sign yet another striker having watched his side struggle in front of goal last season.

The Canaries netted just 41 times in the league in 2012/13 and were among the division’s lowest goalscorers.

And that’s something Hughton hopes Quagliarella, who scored 9 Serie A goals last season, can help change.

The 30-year-old’s future in Turin looks bleak after the “Old Lady” signed Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao.

And he could help reverse Norwich’s fortunes in the final third by...

Man City Transfer News: Juventus Want Sergio Aguero?
Manchester City are bracing themselves for a raid from Juventus for Sergio Aguero, with the Italian champions keen to pair the striker up with former team-mate Carlos Tevez, according to Sports Direct News.

Juve signed Tevez in a £12 million deal back in June and now The Old Lady are hoping to create an exciting strike partnership by reuniting the Apache with Aguero, with the duo previously playing alongside each other at the Etihad.

Aguero has up until now been one of the few “automatic starters” on the City team sheet, but the summer arrivals of Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo and a possible bid for Luis Suarez have left the 25-year-old sweating over his future.

Juventus have apparently been alerted by the situation and, with Aguero fearing his starting place under Manuel Pelegrini is under threat, could offer the striker the option to leave England.

La Signora Omicidi believe they...

Man City Transfer News: Stevan Jovetic To Sign For £22 Million
Manchester City have agreed a £22 million deal with Fiorentina for striker Stevan Jovetic, with the move set to be completed on Friday once a medical has taken place, according to BBC Sport.

Jovetic, 23, had attracted interested from Manchester United and Arsenal this summer but a move to Eastlands now looks certain. The striker is being lined up to replace Carlos Tevez, who joined Juventus for £10 million earlier in this transfer window.

The Montenegro international was in solid form last season in Serie A, scoring 13 goals in 31 games for his club. The striker has also notched up 27 caps, scoring 10 goals.

In what has been a very busy transfer window already, last year’s Premier League runners-up have already completed the signings of Fernandinho, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo, costing the club well over £80 million.

Newly appointed manager, Manuel Pellegrini stressed the need for another striker in an interview with Sky Sports News last week,...

Man City Transfer News: Alvaro Negredo To Undergo Medical
Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo is expected to undergo a medical at Manchester City within the next 24 hours ahead of his proposed £20 million move to the deposed Premier League champions, according to the BBC.

The Spain international looks set to become manager Manuel Pellegrini’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Brazilian Fernandinho and Negredo’s former Sevilla teammate Jesus Navas.

Fioerentina’s Stevan Jovetic is expected to become City’s next summer signing as the club take their spending through the £70 million barrier.

Fernandinho and Navas cost the Citizens a reported £50 million and their profligacy does not look like ending there as Pellegrini begins his overhaul of the squad he inherited from Roberto Mancini.

The former Real Madrid striker spoke of his excitement at joining City at a farewell press conference in Sevilla this week.

The 27-year-old said:

“For four years I have been very happy, but...

Chelsea Transfer News: Blues To Rival Man City For Zlatan Ibrahimovic?
Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be set for a summer move to either Chelsea or Manchester City, according to the Daily Star.

The Swedish international has had a falling out with Psg manager Laurent Blanc over the signing of Edinson Cavani. The French champions will fork out £54 million for the Napoli striker and hand him a bumper contract, and Ibrahimovic isn’t pleased.

The 31-year-old could now quit the Parc des Princes, just one year after signing from Milan, and that has put Chelsea and City on alert, both of whom are in the market for a new striker this summer.

The Blues have been left frustrated in their recent efforts to bring in more firepower having missed out on Cavani, as well as Radamel Falcao and Neymar.

Manager Jose Mourinho is looking to offload Demba Ba and needs a replacement.

There are also doubts over the long-term future of Fernando Torres,...

Man City Transfer News: Citizens Told To Improve Bid For Alvaro Negredo
Manchester City have been told they must improve on their £20 million offer for Alvaro Negredo if they want to sign the striker this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Sevilla are hoping to hold out and cash in on their prized asset before allowing him to leave for the Premier League.

Reports in Spain suggest last season’s Premier League runners up have failed with a £20 million bid for the 27-year-old, with the president of Sevilla, Del Nido, reported as saying recently:

“With Negredo there has been progress but we are far from reaching an agreement. Right now it’s further away than it was at the time with Atletico Madrid.

“Sevilla have put an evaluation on Negredo and either Sevilla are paid what they’re asking for or he stays for another three years.”

However, Del Nido refused to disclose the market value slapped on the Spain international’s head.

Man City Transfer News: Citizens Agree £23.3 Million Fee For Stevan Jovetic?
According to Goal.com, Manchester City have agreed a fee worth £23.3 million plus add-ons for Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic.

The striker has been strongly linked with a move to Etihad in the last week and is seemingly being lined up as the replacement for Carlos Tevez, who joined Juventus for £10 million earlier this month.

Jovetic’s agent, Fali Ramadni, is set to travel to Manchester in the next 48 hours to finalise the move of the 23-year-old. £23.3 million will be paid upfront with a further £2.6 million to be paid in performance-related bonuses.

The Citizens are set to offer the star an £80,000-a-week deal, although the any personal terms will likely be concluded in the next 48 hours once the both parties officially meet.

The striker was in decent form last season netting 13 times in 31 Serie A appearances as well as scoring three goals in two International fixtures.

The Montenegro international will be...

Man City Transfer News: Stevan Jovetic & Alvaro Negredo £40 Million Combined Bids Coming?
Manchester City are set to step up their pursuit of new strikers and are closing in on Stevan Jovetic of Fiorentina and Seville’s Alvaro Negredo in deals totalling more than £40 million, according to The Sun.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini hopes to have signed both players by the end of the month as he looks to replace Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.

Tevez’s most to Juventus this summer has left City short of attacking options while Balotelli still hasn’t been replaced after his switch to AC Milan back in January.

That has left the deposed Premier League champions with just Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, who, despite featuring mainly as an impact sub last season, will not be sold this summer.

Even so, City are still looking to bring in two new forwards having watched Manchester United win the title last season with four marksmen.

Jovetic is one of...

Man City Transfer News: £28 Million Move For Stevan Jovetic Close To Completion?
According to The Mirror, Manchester City are close to completing a £28 million move for Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to The Etihad ever since former Malaga boss, Manuel Pellegrini, who has pushed for the transfer, joined the Citizens last month.

Whilst City close up on their third transfer of the summer, with the club having already splashed out on Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, Fernandinho, and Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, the total spending of The Sky Blues would come to over £80 million.

Jovetic has been offered a five-year deal worth £80,000-a-week in order to lure him away from his boyhood club but with the striker set to replace Carlos Tevez, who left for Italian side Juventus, Jovetic will likely get a lot of playing time along side future partner Sergio Aguero.

Pellegrini has been crying out for a third striker, ever since Tevez left the...

Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Join The Chase For Alvaro Negredo
The Daily Mirror are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to hijack Manchester City’s move for Sevilla’s striker Alvaro Negredo.

Spurs had been linked to the Spanish international in the past, but in recent weeks their interest appeared to have cooled and the Citizens believed they had a clear run in their attempts to obtain his signature – Atletico Madrid recently dropping out of the race for the striker.

Sevilla are said to be demanding £24 million for the 27 year old and with both Spurs and City prepared to splash out the cash this summer, it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga pans out.

City have recently sold Carlos Tevez to Juventus and have been linked with big money bids for the likes of Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Spurs are looking to ship out Emmanuel Adebayor and have been linked to the likes of Christian...

Man City Transfer News: Citizens To Bid £28 Million For Alvaro Negredo
According to the Daily Express, Manchester City are set to raid Spanish side Sevilla for a second time with a £28 million bid for striker Alvaro Negredo.

The Citizens secured their first signing of the summer when they bought Sevilla’s Jesus Navas for a fee of £15 million and now look set to bid for 27-year-old, Negredo.

Sevilla club president, Jose Maria, told the media that the star wants to leave the club and dreams of Champions League glory:

“He has said he wants to develop and that he wants to play in the Champions League. One of the teams is Atletico Madrid and the other is outside of Spain. Sevilla will choose the best offer.”

Rumours are suggesting that the striker has a buy-out clause of £18 million but Manchester City are already preparing a bid of £28 million which will likely see off interest from Atletico Madrid who are still searching...

Man City Transfers: 5 Players Manuel Pellegrini Needs To Sign To Avoid Crisis
When former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini took his side to Old Trafford on April 8th, deep down, he knew his champions had no chance of preventing United from winning the Premier League.

The Italian pointedly remarked at the time that the reason for his side’s dethroning was because they had missed out on a number of top transfer targets.

Robin van Persie was linked with a move to the Etihad during his final months at Arsenal while Eden Hazard, Javi Martinez and Daniel De Rossi were other targets City also failed to land.

United won the league by a commanding 11 points in the end, because City, as many claim, failed to sign their desired targets and strengthen in key areas.

The Citizens, now under the stewardship of Manuel Pellegrini, have wasted no time in splashing the cash this summer, forking out over £50 million on Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho and Sevilla winger Jesus Navas.

Man City Transfer News: Mario Gomez Is Carlos Tevez Replacement?
Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez tops a list of potential candidates to replace Carlos Tevez at the Etihad, according to the Independent.

The Argentina international has completed his move to Italian champions Juventus leaving the Sky Blues with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko as the only senior strikers at the club.

Gomez is understood to be one of four targets identified by the deposed Premier League champions to replace ‘The Apache’ as they look to rapidly rebuild their depleted strike force for next season, with Seville’s Alvaro Negredo, Roma’s Pablo Osvaldo and Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo understood to be the other candidates.

The latter has had a bitter falling out with the Portuguese outfit and is definitely leaving, with his club demanding €17 million (£14.5 million) but could accept €15 million (£12.8 million).

£20 million-rated Gomez is the more attractive prospect though, and he too looks likely to leave having spent much of...

Man City Transfer News: Citizens To Offer Edin Dzeko For Robert Lewandowski?
Manchester City are set to rekindle their interest in Robert Lewandowski and want the Borussia Dortmund striker to replace Carlos Tevez, according to the Express.

The Citizens could tempt Dortmund into selling by offering them Edin Dzeko in a cash-plus-player deal, according to the same report.

Lewandowski is one of the most sought-after assets on this summer’s transfer market and has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the past. The latter of those sides was understood to have been the favourites for the Polish international’s signature but Dortmund are refusing to sell to their main Bundesliga rivals again having already lost Mario Gotze to the Champions League winners.

City sounded Lewandowski’s agents out about a possible £25 million move to the Etihad last summer but were informed the forward had made up his mind to join Bayern, while United were given the same message.

Arsenal Transfer News: Carlo Ancelotti’s Arrival Will Trigger Gonzalo Higuain Sale
Real Madrid’s appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as manager will trigger the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal, write the Independent.

The developments will finally see the Argentina international move to the Premier League and one of Ancelotti’s first acts as manager at the Bernabeu will be to sanction his sale to the Gunners.

The only thing standing in the way of the 25-year-old’s move to North London was the fact Los Blancos were without a manager but now that problem has been solved the move is expected to go through shortly.

Italian Champions Juventus were also interested in the services of the Madrid man, but they today completed the signing of Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and are not expected to sign both players.

That leaves a clear passage for Arsenal to wrap up the signing of the South American, who netted 16 La Liga goals last season.

Arsenal Transfers: 5 More La Liga Stars Who Could Follow Higuain To The Emirates
With Juventus set to sign Carlos Tevez later today, Arsenal at long last look closer to securing the transfer of Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid.

The Turin based club were, for long periods, threatening to rival the Gunners for the signature of the Real Madrid marksman but the path is now clear for Arsene Wenger to land his man after the Italians instead switched their attentions to the Manchester City star.

Further developments at Real Madrid, who have just recently appointed Carlo Ancelotti as the successor to Jose Mourinho, mean a deal for Higuain to move to the Premier League in inching ever closer to completion.

The acquisition of Higuain would be seen as a coup for Wenger, considering the 25-year old’s form last season, in which he netted 16 times in La Liga.

At long last, perhaps, Arsenal have landed a world class replacement for Robin van Persie instead...
