How Awkward Is It to Sit Next to Larry Gagosian at David Tang’s Birthday Party?
I was a last-minute stand-in for an ill guest at David Tang’s 60th-birthday party on Tuesday at the Dorchester Hotel, where he is also the proprietor of the restaurant China Tang. It was a celebrity smorgasbord I was not prepared for, and let me report, swinging London is as swinging as ever. Kate Moss, Michael Caine, Tom Jones, the Goldsmith clan, Christiane Amanpour — I kept turning my head sideways trying to determine who she was, the only guest who seemed out of context. There should be a Shazam app to recognize people. There was the duchess of York, who neither confirmed nor denied to me that she will enter the art world, perhaps with her daughter Eugenie at Paddle 8; Jeremy Clarkson, the Howard Stern of car journalists, who actually became famous from being a petrol-head; and even former prime minister Tony Blair, taking a break from the lecture circuit.

Beatrice and Eugenie party with mother
Britain's Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie partied with their mother Sarah Ferguson to celebrate the Chinese new year. The royal siblings - whose father is Prince Andrew - attended restauranteur David Tang's annual bash at his upmarket London eaterie China Tang, where other guests included Kate Moss, Sir Tom Jones and former British prime minister Tony Blair. The girls were also joined by their boyfriends, Dave Clark and Jack Brooksbank, and everyone seemed in good spirits as they left in the early hours of yesterday morning (05.04.13). Last month, the sisters drove a Mini through the streets of Berlin as they launched a campaign promoting the UK. Beatrice and Eugenie flew to the German capital to support the Great Campaign, a...

Kate Moss Rings In Chinese New Year Early With Three Royals
Kate Moss
Kate Moss had a big night out in London yesterday getting a head start on ringing in Chinese New Year, which is Sunday, Feb. 10, at China Tang restaurant, which is owned by her good friend David Tang. Also out for the fun were Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as their mom, Sarah Ferguson. Beatrice and Eugenie brought their respective boyfriends, David Clark and Jack Brooksbank, along for the fun, too. At the dinner, Kate caught up with the royal trio as well as TV executive Elisabeth Murdoch, daughter of Fox News mogul Rupert, and singer Tom Jones. The whole group went to an afterparty at David's house, and Kate reportedly stayed out until 6 a.m. Kate may well have been in a celebratory mood thanks to a big new job - she's on four covers of the new i-d magazine. Pippa Takes a Page From Sienna's Partying Handbook and Hits the Dance Floor!
Sienna Miller
Sienna Miller and Pippa Middleton kept the good times going at last night's All Saints and Too Many Women charity dinner at London's Petersham Nurseries. Pippa was decked out in a long-sleeved, floral gown from Danni Minogue's Project D line to lead everyone out onto the dance floor with her friend, Katie Readman, who works for one of the Middleton's favorite labels, Issa. Sienna managed to have lots of fun while hanging out at her table with model Lily Donaldson, her mom Jo Miller, and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood. It was Jo's birthday, and she got a big kiss from Ronnie as a present. Sienna, wearing a dress from Matthew Williamson, also cozied up to China Tang owner David Tang and was seen laughing and throwing her hands in the air throughout the meal. The event brought out luminaries like Sarah Ferguson; Prince Harry's ex, Florence Brudenell-Bruce; and actress Gemma Arterton.

Episode 7047 – Sir David Tang
Episode Number: 7047 (April 6, 2011)

Guests: Sir David Tang

Segments: Wisconsin Supreme Court Race, My Fair Colbert – Hugo Vickers, Wd-40-1

Videos: Wednesday, April 6, 2011

When Stephen starts a field piece in anything tweed, you know it’s going to be classic. Also, was it just me, or was Stephen’s “Stiff upper lip” almost identical to his impression of Jerri Blank? Let’s keep in mind, Ladies of the C-Section, that this is a family blog, so let’s keep the discussion of Stephen’s stiffy to a minimum. Unlike Stephen’s stiffy. But I digress. Hugo Vickers was such a perfect companion to “Stephen”, both playing along with his silliness, and treating him like a child when he was acting like one. It was both hysterical and endearing. Also? Stephen’s rocking of the no-glasses ascot look is love.

So how adorkable was Stephen when he was yelling “Women of earth,...

Christian Slater's new show premieres tonight and I realized I'd seen him in a few new shows in the past couple of years so I checked. In the last three years Christian Slater has been the lead in three different television series. 2008 gave us "My Own Worst Enemy" which lasted all of nine episodes. 2009 gave us "The Forgotten" which lent itself to all sorts of bad puns yet continued through 2010 and boasted a total of 17 episodes before disappearing from the airwaves. Tonight we see the premiere of "Breaking In" where Slater will no doubt play a wise-cracking hard ass of some variety who mayhaps has a soft side. I'm not sure yet, we'll have to see. In between all that unsuccessful television Mr.Slater has been keeping busy, since he currently has 8 other projects listed as completed or in post-production and one more in pre-production. I'm not kidding, look for yourself.

Fantasy Colbert League April 4th -7th
Hello, Everyone! It’s Monday, Monday…

Last week was amazing, what with the creation of Stephen’s Pac (love the wickedly mischievous look when he asked whether anyone had ever been prosecuted for misusing funds) and an extra day of Colbertian hijinks with Jimmy Fallon. Wasn’t that awesome fun? And all done for the good of kids everywhere. All I can say is: More! More!

The upcoming shows look fantastic—and one person I very much wanted to see a few weeks ago, who didn’t show up, is back on the schedule. Yea!

Monday, April 4th: Andrew Chaikin

This guest is thrilled to be on the show—just go to his website and the first thing you’ll see is a big image from The Colbert Report opening credits, with Stephen grasping the flag. And I’m pretty happy to have Andrew Chaikin on too, because Stephen always...

Nokia Lifts the Veil on Its China Testing Site, but Why Now?
Nokia may be the world's biggest cell-phone maker, but it generally keeps its operations seriously under wraps. That's why the company's recent decision to open up its Beijing test center to select visitors is a deft public relations move at a time when one of its biggest competitors, Apple, is being scrutinized for its operations in China.

Its one of ten similar centers Nokia operates globally, and its been around for ten years--reflecting the fact that 180 million people in China use Nokia devices, and sales in the region contributed to 13% of the company's global sales.

Journalists were given a quick tour of the facility this month, during which they got to see the site, and experience the 200-odd quality tests each potential phone design has to go through. These include classic drop tests, weather-resist, button resilience and scratch-proof tests, and also more esoteric ones: Bending the phones the same way...
