Since a young age Ryan has always taken an interest in shooting material on camera. From single-shot shows in the living room, to using any toy or animal willing to cooperate. He knew then that his future would involve the art of filmmaking.
A native of North Carolina, Ryan earned his BS in Communication: Film and Television from East Carolina University in 2003. Upon graduation, Ryan met Writer/Producer, Dave Christiano, who had just begun shooting Season 1 of his new television series, "7th Street Theater" in Asheville, NC. Outside of Media Direction, Ryan began crewing as 1st AC to Shane McMullan who was Director of Photography for the show.
Over the next two decades, Ryan has produced with Shane McMullin on numerous cooperate projects, shorts, commercials, documentaries and features. Always striving toward the ultimate desire/calling for his life, making motion pictures full time.
Ryan's credits include: "Praying on the Mountain" A documentary that follows a 95 yr old preacher who felt called by God to pray for a spiritual awakening in America. The documentary lead to a nation-wide movement of prayer which is still continuing today. It also was an official winner of the ICVM Film Festival award for short docs category. Addition credits include: "Journey Through the Bible" a feature length documentary which follows a group to Jerusalem; walking in the footsteps of Jesus. This aired across "A Clear Word's" station lineup including WHNS Fox Carolina and TheWalkTV which airs across Florida. Other credits include "Honduras, A Five Day Mission Trip", numerous other short films, documentaries, corporate and commercial material most of which are available to stream on Pureflix and other streaming services.
Independently, Ryan is CEO/Founder of The Film Floor, a full service production company serving his area. Ryan Cumbo resides in Western North Carolina and is married to Amanda Cumbo. They have two young children.
