For the makers of the new comedy Omg… We’re in a Horror Movie!!!, the internet became an important piece of the marketing puzzle – as co-star and director Ajala Bandele tells us.

We’ve seen quite a few horror-comedies over the years, particularly those that satirize the genre, how do you think this one is different?

“Omg… We’re in a Horror Movie!!!” puts the characters in a position where they know full well that they are in a movie and can manipulate the different aspects of modern filmmaking to further their needs. They worry about things like plot, and unexplained back stories and continuity errors.

Do you write the jokes around the story or the story around the jokes?

Jokes around the story. For me, writing is concept first, followed by characters, then story. Jokes typically are just byproducts of real people reacting to a given situation and if...

Jaquinn Bell of Orange, California, was booked for investigation of felony hit-and-run causing death, Santa Ana police Chief Carlos Rojas told a press conference. The chief said the Orange County district attorney's office was reviewing the case. Authorities previously said they were looking for a driver and another person who fled the scene of Friday evening's crash that claimed the lives of 13-year-old twins and their 13-year-old friend at a crosswalk. A damaged black Honda SUV was found 800 yards from the crash site.

The National Geographic Channel announced today it is no longer moving forward with a scripted TV series based on the 2012 action film Act of Valor. Here's what the network had to say in a brief statement.

"Ngc is unfortunately not moving forward with Act of Valor in favor of other scripted projects we have under consideration that will be announced soon."

The series was first announced in September 2012, when Relativity Media and the Bandito Brothers production company revealed they were developing the movie for the small screen. National Geographic Channel gave the series a green light in October, although creative differences reportedly arose between Relativity and the Bandito Brothers.

The network had a formalized deal in place with Relativity, but the studio had no formal agreement with the Bandito Brothers. In the months that followed, the network, studio and production company all had differing ideas of how the show should be crafted.

Relativity Media and the Bandito Brothers are teaming up again for a sequel to the 2012 hit Act of Valor. Scott Wiper (The Condemned, The Marine 3: Homefront) has signed on to write and direct the follow-up, which will focus on a unit of S.W.A.T. officers. No further story details were released.

The first Act of Valor starred active-duty Navy S.E.A.L. members in a fictionalized account of a real operation. It isn't known if the plan is to bring in actual S.W.A.T. team members to star in this follow-up, but given the success of the original movie, that will likely be the case. Directed by two of the eight Bandito Brothers partners Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh (Need for Speed), Act of Valor took in $81 million worldwide from just a $12 million production budget.

I was recently invited to take part in a unique press event for Act of Valor, which debuts on Blu-ray and DVD June 5. I was told we would be heading to San Diego to participate in a SEALFit workout, which is essentially a much more intense version of crossfit. I figured it would be a simple demonstration. It was not, and frankly, I'm surprised I survived, but I'm definitely glad I did it.

I was easily the most out-of-shape person who participated in the workout, but even those who were in better shape than me had their asses kicked by this grueling hour, which instilled the fundamentals of teamwork, mental strength, and physical strength. The simple premise of Act of Valour has sparked some controversy. Some see a film made by the U.S. Military that casts real life Navy Seals as an opportunity to see a true reflection of the American spirit while others see it as nothing more than a propaganda piece. Personally I feel the idea of casting real life Navy Seals in a film has some potential. With their knowledge and background we could get a film that replicates the trial and tribulations they actual go through on a daily basis. Action that wipes away the cleanliness and polish we have come to expect, and injects a sense of realism to provide something new and different. However that wasn’t the case at all.

Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy direct active duty Navy Seals in the action thriller Act of Valor, which hits theaters this Friday, February 24th. Roselyn Sanchez stars as a kidnapped CIA agent whose disappearance leads to a complex web of terrorist cells determined to strike within the Us at any time. Ryan J. Act of Valor follows a Navy Seal...

Earlier this month, Relativity Media announced a new Demand It promotion for its upcoming action movie Act of Valor, which arrives in theaters February 17, 2012. Whichever city had the most "demands" would win a special advance screening of Act of Valor, along with a sneak preview of the upcoming ideo game Battlefield 3. The studio announced today that Los Angeles is the winning city of the screening, which will be held on Wednesday, October 19.

Los Angeles residents can clickHere to RSVP for the event, which will take place at The Rave 18 theater (6081 Center Drive Los Angeles, CA 90045) on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 Pm Pt. After the screening, fans will be able to play the Battlefield 3 video game on the big screen.
