Greg Davies and Alex Horne have made the UK's Taskmaster into an addictive cultural phenomenon. The Avalon TV series features a new lineup of comedians every season, but the mission is always the same: complete hilarious and ambitious tasks with the goal of impressing the Taskmaster and earning the most points. TV viewers have never seen anything like this show, which has run the gamut from "perform the greatest safety demonstration" to "score a goal with a steamroller."
Horne created the series and serves as the Taskmaster's endearing right-hand man, "Little Alex Horne," while The Inbetweeners star Davies is delightfully ruthless as the title character. Their chemistry and ability to play off the energy of the contestants has propelled the show for 16 seasons and counting and inspired books, board games, merchandise, and a dedicated streaming service. Taskmaster isn't just a comedy panel show anymore. It's become a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.

Let’s learn a bit more about them:

Globalisation isn’t just about lax child labour laws lowering the price of t-shirts; it also has its downsides. Global markets have a tendency to replace local idiosyncrasy with the accessibly bland. Should, for instance, the makers of Sweden’s chocolate Plopp Bar ever branch out into English-speaking territories, they’d be forced to rename their product to something much less funny, and we’d all be the worse off for it.
Murderville, a US series based on BBC Three’s Murder in Successville, is worse off for just that reason. In the transatlantic translation of the semi-improvised detective comedy, a niche element has been dropped, and with it, much of the original’s charm. Here’s the premise: every episode, a celebrity guest is thrown amongst a regular cast of comedy actors to solve a murder alongside the lead detective. “Notting Hill” actor Hugh Grant, “The Thick of It” creator Armando Iannucci and soccer star turned sports host Gary Lineker are among the industry heavyweights criticizing the U.K. government’s threats to freeze and potentially scrap the licence fee altogether.
Any U.K. household that watches any form of live television on any network or streaming platform – whether on a television or a computer screen – is required to pay the licence fee. Currently the licence fee is £159 per year, a sum that Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries has said will be frozen for the next two years.
“The BBC is something the whole world admires with envy,” Grant tweeted. “It is entirely appropriate that the insecure, spittle-flecked nut jobs of this government want to destroy it.”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has received a letter signed by 50 of Britain’s biggest stars, including Dame Judi Dench, Brian May Cbe, Leona Lewis, Gary Lineker OBE, James Arthur, Thandie Newton OBE, Alesha Dixon, Ricky Gervais, Mollie King and Dame Twiggy Lawson, urging him to implement a UK ban on the sale of real animal fur.
Animal protection organisation Humane Society International/UK which leads the #FurFreeBritain campaign in collaboration with other animal charities, is hopeful that a 2021 ban is possible now that the Brexit transition is completed.
Fur farming was banned in Britain almost two decades ago in 2003 as it was deemed too cruel. But since then Britain has imported more than £800 million worth of fur from countries including Finland, China, France and Poland, where animals experience severe suffering and distress on fur farms. This is a double standard that needs to end.

Murder in Successville star Tom Davis has revealed he wants David and Victoria Beckham to guest on a second series.
BBC Three's semi-improvised comedy series stars Davis as the burly Di Sleet, with celebrity guests helping him solve a murder in the fictional 'Successville'.
"Everyone involved in it is dying to do a second series," the actor and comedian told Digital Spy. "If I'm honest, it's just whether there's a channel there to make it for!
"But yeah, fingers crossed - I'm really hopeful. There's nothing confirmed yet, but I'd love to take it up to the next level.
"We've always had big plans if it goes to a second series of what we want to do - the worry would be that people think they know how to handle it, but they've only seen the tip of the iceberg and we can pull the rug out from under them a lot more!

Meaden is challenged to solve an Agatha Christie-style murder mystery on the show, with Lady Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Boris Johnson, Nicki Minaj and Jay Z among the suspects.
"I had the best time and actually got real and uncontrollable giggles more than once," Meaden said. "The cast were unbelievably good especially as they were improvising around my reactions. I was so immersed at times I actually believed I was solving a crime."

Murder in Successville starts on BBC Three tonight, but even though we've seen the first episode, we'll be damned if we can describe it to you.
Is it a reality show? A comedy? An impressions show? A murder mystery? A prank show? Well, it's kind of all of those things at once - and that's what makes it pretty special indeed.
It's honestly hard to describe the series, but the basic idea is this - a celebrity sidekick teams up with the brilliantly awful Di Sleet (played by Tom Davis) to solve a murder mystery. But that's making it a little too simple, because what we didn't mention is that the celebrity taking part has no idea what they're getting themselves in for. And we didn't mention that the 'murder mystery' is taking place in the fictional town of Successville, populated by celebrities - or at least enjoyably terrible impressions of celebrities.

Deborah Meaden will swap Dragons' Den for crime-solving when she appears on BBC Three's new show Murder in Successville.
The show sees a host of celebrity sidekicks teaming up with Di Sleet (Tom Davis) to solve various crimes in the fictional town of Successville.
The famous faces have no idea what they're getting themselves into before filming begins, but with Successville populated by celebrities, will they be able to arrest the right suspect?
Meaden will be challenged to solve an Agatha Christie-style murder mystery, but will she be able to decide whether Lady Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, retired Scout master Boris Johnson, invalid aunt Nicki Minaj or the suspicious butler Jay Z was responsible?
"I had the best time and actually got real and uncontrollable giggles more than once," Meaden said. "The cast were unbelievably good especially as they were improvising around my reactions. I was so immersed at times I...

BBC Two has revealed the three new Dragons who will join Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden on Dragons' Den.
Duncan Bannatyne, Kelly Hoppen and Piers Linney quit their roles at the end of the 12th series, which concluded on Sunday (March 15) night.
Moonpig.com creator Nick Jenkins, global clothing manufacturer and serial retail entrepreneur Touker Suleyman, and global restaurant entrepreneur Sarah Willingham will begin filming on the 13th series next week.
"I have always preferred the start-up stage to running a larger mature business. It is a more exhilarating journey and requires instinctive, fast decision-making," Jenkins said. "There is often not much information to analyse and the risk of failure is ever present.
