Karen Robinson and Michael Mosley Cast in David E. Kelley’s Crime Drama ‘The Missing’
Image
Karen Robinson and Michael Mosley have been cast in “The Missing,” Peacock’s upcoming crime drama series from showrunner and executive producer David E. Kelley. Robinson will play captain Helen Davis, while Mosley plays detective Earl Malzone.

The series, based on Dror A. Mishani’s 2011 novel “The Missing File,” follows Avraham Avraham (Jeff Wilbusch), an NYPD detective guided by a deep sense of spirituality and religious principles. He is left to question his own humanity when a seemingly routine investigation turns upside down.

Emmy episode analysis: Laura Linney (‘Ozark’) looks for ‘One Way Out’ after she’s kidnapped by a desperate man
Laura Linney
Laura Linney is up for Best Drama Actress for the first time at the Emmys for her role as Wendy Byrde, but she won four Emmys in other categories for all four roles she previously nominated for: Best Comedy Guest Actress for “Frasier” in 2004 and Best Movie/Mini Actress for “Wild Iris” in 2002, “John Adams” in 2008 and “The Big C: Hereafter” in 2013. The three-time Oscar nominee contends now for playing lobbyist Wendy Byrde in the second season of crime drama “Ozark” on Netflix.

Linney submitted the episode “One Way Out,” which was available on the academy website for voters to consider. In it, Wendy is kidnapped by pastor Mason Young (Michael Mosley), who uses her as leverage to get Marty (Jason Bateman) to retrieve Mason’s baby Zeke from police custody. Marty succeeds, but ends up killing Mason during a confrontation. He and Wendy clean up the crime scene and...

‘Ozark’ overhaul? Gritty Netflix drama could earn Emmy nominations in all 4 main acting categories
Get ready for a potential “Ozark” Emmy sweep, as the gritty Netflix series could receive nominations in all four main acting categories: Best Drama Actor for Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, Best Drama Actress for Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde, Best Drama Supporting Actress for Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore and Best Drama Supporting Actor for Peter Mullan as Jacob Snell.

As of this writing, Gold Derby’s racetrack odds peg nominations for Bateman and Linney and a victory for Garner, with Mullan in seventh place to receive a bid. Then there’s new cast member Janet McTeer as Helen Pierce, who’s also a dark horse contender for a supporting actress nom.

See‘Ozark’ is about to explode at the Emmys, just like ‘Breaking Bad’ did 10 years ago

The first season of “Ozark” scored five nominations last year, including two alone for Bateman in acting and directing. While those numbers are adequate,...
