A Survivor family has just added another member to their tribe!

Contestants John and Candice Cody welcomed son Forrest Henry on Wednesday, June 7, they tell People exclusively. He joins big sister Beatrix Leigh, 19 months.

Forrest was born at born at Georgetown University Hospital at 3:57 a.m. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 14 oz., and was 20¼ inches long. He was named after Candice’s late grandfather.

I hate calling Survivor: Blood Vs. Water an “emotional season” since that was, y’know, precisely the point. When family members and loved ones are pitted against each other on an island ruled by a crazed Eddie Bauer shift manager named Jeff Probst, tears will be shed. Rupert Boneham will monologue about loving his wife more than he loves Survivor. John will weep when he decides not to take Candice‘s place on Redemption Island. Ciera will quiver and cry when mentoring her mother to her own demise. Monica Culpepper will liberate herself from her brickbrained husband and announce she is doing this “for Monica!”, as if “Monica” is a Make A Wish child she once met. These were all preordained Hallmark moments.

But I wasn’t quite prepared to sympathize so much with the season’s winner, who not only deserved the million dollars but established some humanity that I happily fell for.

"Survivor: Blood vs. Water" had a crazy thing happen last episode -- the Tribal Council, fueled by Hayden's last-ditch effort to sway Ciera's vote and save himself, went all the way to a drawing of rocks after two tie votes. It was only the second time that has ever happened in "Survivor" history and it sent Katie to Redemption Island.

But is that enough to propel this season into the ranks of the best seasons ever? We'll have to see how it plays out. For now, here are the 10 best and five worst seasons of the granddaddy of reality competition shows.

Wednesday night's Survivor: Blood vs. Water saw two players exit the game after coming up short at their Redemption Island duel. One player, Laura Boneham, had just arrived at Redemption, while the other player, John Cody, had spent nearly two weeks surviving challenges in the hopes of re-entering the game. We catch up with the 30-year-old physician to find out how difficult it was to go home after hanging on so long, and how it compared to his West Point military training.

ETonline: How hard was it for you [to go home after being on Redemption for so long]?

John: I don't know if you could tell by my body language, but I was a touch frustrated after that challenge last night! But you know, it's all part of the game, and I felt like I gave it my all every single challenge. I wish there was a different challenge to get back in the game because [that challenge is] definitely geared toward a particular type of body style that is...

John Cody lasted a long time on "Survivor's" Redemption Island this season, just missing re-entering the game at the merge when he lost the final duel. He tells Zap2it that it was frustrating to be faced with a challenge that clearly did not favor him.

Are you glad you did "Survivor"? Was it everything you hoped it would be?

"It wasn't everything I hoped it would be because I hoped to be sitting at the end and pleading my case at the final tribal council, but I'm definitely glad that I did it. It was an awesome experience, a great opportunity. And even though things didn't work out the way I hoped, it still was incredible."

On Wednesday night's Survivor: Blood vs. Water, this season's most controversial player, retired football player and current lawyer Brad Culpepper went home after losing a Redemption Island duel. ETonline catches up with the 44-year-old from Tampa, Fl, to find out what he has to say about the attacks made on his character, as well as how he attempted to help his wife Monica go further in the game.

ETonline: You had experienced Survivor through your wife's eyes, but what surprised you the most when you played the game yourself?

Brad: I don't think much could prepare me for the 'Blood vs. Water' theme. It was much different than when Monica played, or I think the 26 prior [seasons of] Survivor. Normally when you play Survivor, you're only worried about your own tribe and your own self, you could care less about basically anybody on the other tribe. … [From the day] they split us up, it was totally different than anything I expected...

The third time was definitely not the charm for Candice Cody (formerly Woodcock). She returned to play again alongside her husband John for Survivor: Blood vs. Water, yet found herself voted out of her tribe mere minutes into the game. Yet the threepeat offender managed to last all the way to day 11 due to her dominance at Redemption Island. However, her skill/luck finally ran out, losing to hubby John and arch-nemesis Brad Culpepper in a duel. Candice called into Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) this morning to talk all about it. And there was a lot to talk about.

Survivor did something a little weird this week. It staged an immunity challenge around what amounted to a game of Toss Across. Is this my high school graduation backyard party? Is the grand prize a Hallmark card and a check from my aunt? It didn’t make for riveting competition, but it did reverse one seriously bleak trend in the game. So that’s nice. Like a Hallmark card!

Here are my noteworthiest takes on Wednesday’s warfare.

1. Vytas’ vytal signs are looking goooood

Thank you, Survivor, for livening up a humdrum episode with… an evocative mood sequence featuring Vytas in shirtless yoga stances for what seemed like months. It was like the gay Portland version of Robert De Niro‘s long-ass hunting scene from The Deer Hunter. So pastoral and eerie and full of handstands and clenched biceps and half-naked bliss and mood. He even philosophized about Brad Culpepper.

Each week, host Jeff Probst will answer a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water.

Entertainment Weekly: A few weeks back we saw Tyson offer to take his girlfriend Rachel’s place at Redemption Island if she wanted, and she told him to stay put. This week, Monica asked to take husband Brad’s spot and he declined. Do you think these offers to switch are genuine, or are they simply for show, counting on the fact that their spouse would never ask them to sacrifice themselves like that?

Considering all the twists in Survivor: Blood vs. Water, the old-school vibe has been a refreshing surprise. The family connections are forcing the editors to show the personalities of more than just a few star players. Laura Morett hasn’t received many interviews, but there’s been enough to show her place in the tribe. She thinks creepily flirting with Aras and doing well in challenges will keep her alive. Meanwhile, Laura Boneham is struggling to connect with players who’ve known each other for years. The promos spotlighted a huge blindside, but the logic in the vote is pretty simple. The five-person alliance picks their second or third choice with hopes of thwarting Brad at Redemption Island. The “no strategy” plan is keeping several players in the dark and hiding the alliance’s existence.

Caleb was seen, explaining why he pulled that fast one on Brad at the last tribal counsel. Then they showed Brad at Redemption Island with Candice and John. Brad apologized to John and Candice for the way things ended up. However, Candice told the private cams, she couldn't wait to be able to get Brad permanently removed from the game. Next, showed Redemption Island dual footage with Candice,John,and Brad. Monica offered to trade places with her husband ,Brad,but he told her not to,and that he'll fight to get back in the game on his own. From there, they started their dual, which was another puzzle challenge of sorts. The first two to finish,got to stay alive. John completed it first,again,and Brad just edged out Candice to take 2nd place,...

It was a bad week to be a returning player on Survivor: Blood Vs. Water. Let us count the ways:

• Candice came in last place in her Redemption island duel, losing to husband John and Brad, which meant she was eliminated from the game.

• The returning players tribe of Galang lost their very first challenge. And they didn’t just lose it. They were dominated.

Wednesday night's episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains saw the biggest upset so far this season, as Caleb boldly and publicly orchestrated the ouster of the Tadhana Tribe's ringleader Brad. Now, Et is catching up with former Tadhana member Marissa, who may have lost her Redemption Island Duel, but not her frustration with Brad. Read on to hear her explain why she thinks Brad is responsible for Tadhana's troubles, and her dish about her surprisingly close bond with Redemption cohort Candice.

ETonline: I know you were only with the tribe for a few days, but if you had to say one person was at fault, who do you think is at fault for all the trouble on the Tadhana tribe?

Marissa: [Laughs] Of course I would blame who I thought was the ringleader, Brad. Just because he was in charge of making decisions. And at the duels, he'd be like, "Oh no, I'm...

But now that she has been truly eliminated from Survivor: Blood vs. Water after losing her duel against the Codys, how does she feel about the former NFL player? She called into Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) to share her thoughts with Jessica Shaw and me on the man that has angered so many in so little time. Marissa Peterson is the latest "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" castaway to be sent home, after surviving on Redemption Island for several rounds. She tells Zap2it that Brad could be kind of offensive at times, but he's a nice guy in general.

Are you glad you went on "Survivor," even if you got sent to Redemption Island so early?

"Oh yeah, definitely. It was such a unique experience. Something that millions of people would die to be in my shoes for. I did not see being the first person voted out coming at all. I would've bet money before the game that that would not be me. Usually it's someone who's really annoying or sucks in the challenge and I was thinking that's definitely not me. I was thinking Katie was going home ... but that wasn't the case."

Brilliant. In a season filled with twists, it’s the simple moves that can change the game. After watching his fiancé quit last week, Caleb steps out of the shadows and executes a stunning move at Tribal Council. Nothing ever happens at Tribal Council! When change-ups occur, they usually use the immunity idol. This move involves doing math and realizing it wouldn’t take much to kick out the figurehead. By announcing his vote for Brad in front of everyone, Caleb realizes he can sway the girls’ votes and create a 3-3 tie. Players don’t want to pull rocks, so the odds of taking out Brad are very good. There’s a chance that everyone votes out Caleb, but that still leaves the guys in power. It makes little sense for Katie...

Look, you can sigh in relief that Colton Cumbie‘s exit from the show last week spared us a season’s worth of his humiliating antics. Sure. But you also had to wonder if Colton was secretly the only exciting cast member, the only castaway willing to piss off acquaintances, start fights, and find the Zen in chaos. Well, get this: Since Colton left, everyone else on the show is suddenly meaner. Not kidding! It’s balanced out nicely. Almost poetically. It’s reality TV Zen, actually.
