Here’s an indie horror film that was filmed entirely on the island of Oahu. Ordinarily the center of big-budget productions like Lost or Jurassic Park, you might be interested to know the Island State has its own thriving indie cinema scene. Dark Star Pictures is distributing Decade Of The Dead, which launches today on VOD. The zombie apocalypse hit ten years ago, and Rachel, Tweeter, and Ben have just barely hung on. They think they’ve finally reached sanctuary when they come across a secluded tropical island — surely the undead haven’t infected this place, right? Wrong…they soon discover the island is home to a deadly cult that worships zombies and follows in their practices (meaning they eat people). They should just get out of there, but when Rachel finds her sister alive and unwell as a High Priestess of the cult, things get complicated. Decade of the Dead stars Sean Patrick Thomas,...

The underrated revenge thriller film Landmine Goes Click offers a challenging viewing experience, and its ending actually deconstructed its own genre. Released independently in 2015, the film follows three American tourists in the country of Georgia who find their picturesque getaway interrupted when one of them steps on a landmine. Shifting gears almost constantly, Landmine Goes Click quickly elevated itself above its original high-concept horror idea, and incorporated the revenge genre for even more effective scares. More importantly than all that, Landmine Goes Click explored deeper themes which allowed the movie to deconstruct the popular horror subgenre and analyze it through a modern lens.
Reminiscent of the grindhouse B-movies of the 1970s, which often used gruesome imagery and shocking plots to get their point across, Landmine Goes Click pulled no punches in its storytelling. As such, the reviews were evenly split between those who appreciated the movie's bluntness and those who...

Are you ready? Zoey 102, the long-awaited aptly titled sequel film to Zoey 101 released on Paramount+ on July 27.
Hailing from one-time Nickelodeon hitmaker Dan Schneider, the original series ran for four seasons from 2005 to 2008. The eponymous Zoey, played by Jamie Lynn Spears, was part of the first class of girls admitted to the all-boys Pacific Coast Academy. The cast periodically reunited in recent years, but this new movie marks the first true reunion special since the series went off the air.
15 years later, is Zoey 102 a worthy follow-up to Zoey 101? Or is it a shameless cash grab banking on the audience's nostalgia? Let's take a look and see if it was worth the wait.
The Plot
Zoey Brooks is now single and in her early 30s, working on a reality show called Love: Fully Charged, and rarely speaking to anyone from Pca. Quinn Pensky (Erin Sanders) calls...

While getting ready to reprise her role as her breakout character in the Zoey 101 movie, Jamie Lynn Spears looks back on her failed audition for a popular movie franchise.
Britney Spears' sister made her small screen debut on the popular Nickelodeon teen series in 2005, and went on to play the charismatic Zoey Brooks for four seasons, and she’s coming back in Zoey 102, a prequel movie. Nowadays, the actress is part of the cast of Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, her first big project since Zoey 101.
However, the actress's career could have been very different had she landed another big role. In an interview with Variety, Jamie Lynn revealed that she auditioned for Twilight, the film adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's books:
“I did read for Twilight. This was before vampires had really made their mark. Now we all love to watch stories about vampires, but I literally was like,...

Are you ready? The official trailer for Paramount+’s Zoey 102 is here, and the gang’s (mostly) back together again.
The first look at the film sees Pacific Coast Academy alumni Zoey (Jamie Lynn Spears), Quinn (Erin Sanders), Logan (Matthew Underwood), Chase (Sean Flynn), Michael (Christopher Massey) and Stacey (Abby Wilde) reunite for Quinn and Logan’s wedding.
The trailer opens with a look at Zoey 15 years after Zoey 101 ended. She’s now 30, single and eager to know why everyone her age is obsessed with marriage, only to find out her best friend, Quinn, is set to be wed.
“Chase is gonna be there. It’ll be fine,” Quinn tells Zoey. “It’ll be the reunion we all need.” It’s a response that makes Zoey want to get another drink, hinting that the former high school couple may not be on the best of terms anymore after ending the Nickelodeon series together.

Levan Bakhia doesn’t have a lot of credits to his name, and his only other directed movie so far is the sauna-set thriller 247°F. Yet before taking his indefinite leave of absence from filmmaking, Bakhia left the world a disturbing parting gift. His 2015 movie is strictly for fans of disobedient storytelling. Set and filmed in the Georgian director’s homeland, Landmine Goes Click combines a high-concept plot with the brutality of vintage Grindhouse and exploitation movies.
While the country of Georgia has made a conscious effort to clear landmines left over from wartime, there is always going to be the chance that one was overlooked. And unfortunately for the three characters in Landmine Goes Click, they found it. Newly engaged couple Daniel and Alicia and their best friend Chris (Sterling Knight) are backpacking somewhere out in the Georgian countryside, near the mountains and several hours away from the closest town.

Over the past seven episodes of "Casual," we've learned a lot about how to navigate the modern dating scene, thanks to lessons acquired by watching Valerie (Michaela Watkins), Alex (Tommy Dewey) and Laura (Tara Lynne Barr) seek love -- or at least a satisfying connection with another. Communication is KeyJust because you're keeping things casual doesn't mean you shouldn't communicate -- especially during the earliest phases of a relationship, when you don't really know too much about a person's life, from their other relationships to their own personal boundaries. During her earliest forays into the casual dating scene, Valerie hooked up with James (Dean Geyer) a charming young man she picked up at a restaurant. Valerie and James had chemistry and at least one round of fantastic sex,...

Generally speaking, I’m a fan of the ‘protagonist(s) are trapped in a single location’ sub-genre of the thriller. I have previously enjoyed a lot of them, such as 127 Hours, Fermat’s Room, Exam, Phone Booth, Buried, Cube; even trashier fare like Devil (which, as @MatBarnett correctly points out, should really have been called ‘Hellevator‘) has entertained me. Landmine Goes Click certainly did not.
The reason all of the above films work, at least on some level, is because when constraints are imposed on a narrative, it’s not just the protagonists that have to think creatively. Filmmakers are forced to try different ways of telling their stories both in a practical sense (how are we going to shoot this and keep it interesting?...

After an all-night graduation beach party, a group of hung-over students wake up under blazing sun to find their numbers somewhat depleted. An enormous alien creature has burrowed down deep and anyone foolish enough to make contact with the sand finds themselves at the mercy of a sea of flesh-eating tentacles.
Can you say Blood Beach?
Ok so maybe that’s not fair. After all Jeffrey Bloom’s 1980 fear-flick, despite having a similar premise – something eating people on the beach, dragging them under the sand – is world’s apart from the gory body-horror of Isaac Gabaeff’s film. Whereas that film often played for oddball humour both intentionally and unintentionally, The Sand plays things very straight.

Between last week’s loin cloth-laden performance of “Roar” and next week’s shirtless photo shoot, it seems the fifth season of Glee is shaping up to its most skin-tastic one yet — and we’re definitely not complaining! So the HollywoodLife.com came up with an idea: Let’s rank the glee hotties, past and present, and decide which one we love most. Y’all ready for this?
(Side note: Out of respect for Cory Monteith‘s memory, we omitted Finn from this competition. It didn’t seem right to plaster naughty shirtless pictures of him, then pit him against his fellow gleeks. It should go without saying that Finn will always be our No. 1.)

He made us laugh, he made us cry, and now we’re paying tribute to Finn’s most memorable moments.
“Everyone wants to talk about how he died … but who cares? One moment in his whole life; I care more about how he lived.” Those words, spoken by Kurt (Chris Colfer) on the Oct. 10 episode of Glee, perfectly reflected how the characters spent the emotional hour-long tribute to Finn (Cory Monteith). It was a celebration of his life — his accomplishments, his performances, and the countless way he improved the lives of those around him — and now, HollywoodLife.com is doing some reflecting of our own.
We’ve put together our 10 favorite Finn moments on Glee, from the moment we first met him on the pilot in 2009 to the last time we saw him in 2013. (And yes, we know this list doesn’t include any of his classic performances. This is a list of non-musical moments.

The shocking news of Cory’s untimely death has left his co-star, girlfriend and best friend, Lea Michele, absolutely ‘devastated.’ Take a look back at how their relationship blossomed and enjoy photos of the couple in happier times.
Lea Michele, 26, and Cory Monteith met on the set of Glee back in 2009, but it wasn’t until 2012 that their friendship blossomed into a relationship. During their year and a half together as a couple, the bond between them only seemed to get stronger and stronger — and Lea even wanted to start a family with Cory. Not only were they inseparable, traveling from NYC to Canada and Mexico together on a slew of occasions, but they also made it through Cory’s stint in rehab in March of 2013. With the shocking news of the actor’s death at just 31, we’re taking a look back at how their relationship blossomed from friendship to real love.

‘Glee’ will likely pay ‘tribute’ to its fallen star this season, a source close to production tells HollywoodLife.com.
Though the sting of Cory Monteith‘s sudden and shocking death is still fresh, gleeks worldwide are asking one question: How will Cory’s tragic passing affect the future of Glee? A source close to production tells HollywoodLife.com that “there have been zero thoughts or discussions on the direction of the show,” but that Cory’s memory will be honored in some way.
Though nothing is official yet, our source tells us Glee will likely pay tribute to Cory:

Rachel and Finn have a big moment together. Plus, New Directions get closer to picking their set list for Regionals.
The April 18 episode of Glee focused on dreams, the theme for this year’s Regionals, as Rachel (Lea Michele) prepares for the role of her dreams.
5 Highlights From This Week’s Episode Of ‘Glee’:
1. Finn (Cory Monteith) enrolls himself at the University of Lima, where he’s studying to become a teacher. With Puck (Mark Salling) as his roommate, the boys party in their dorm, and slip-n-slide in the hallway. Plus, their singing chops get them automatically inducted into the biggest fraternity on campus. No need for hazing — pass go and collect $200! After Finn misses another test, Puck (of all people) has a talk with his best friend and tells him that he’s going to do everything he can to ensure that Finn works hard and fulfills his dream of becoming a teaching.

Since this week's "Glee" episode is "Guilty Pleasures," I feel that I should begin by admitting a guilty pleasure of my own: I liked this episode. I mean, I really liked it a lot. So if you were planning to read this with the intent of mocking "Glee" (something that usually would be fair), you may be disappointed.
Sorry. This was just too fun to hate. Way to live your theme, "Glee"!
Ohio story
The guilty pleasures begin with Blaine (Darren Criss) indulging in his private pleasure, Sam (Chord Overstreet). It seems that the blond bombshell has been stealing macaroni for the purpose of creating detailed images of Emma Stone, LeAnn Rimes, Ralph Macchio, the guys from "Duck Dynasty" and Kurt.
Naturally.
These incredible works of pasta art inspire the boys to take over the glee club (Will is sick. Finn is roaming the country, defending the honor of scorned ladies.

This week's "Glee" is delving into an area of music with which it should be very familiar: "Guilty Pleasures." What do the kids listen to when no one's around? This collection of songs from the episode should give some clue.
The first guilty-pleasure song certainly deserves the title -- "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham!, sung by Blaine (Darren Criss) and Sam (Chord Overstrett)
Whatever your musical taste, Sam hit the musical nail right on the head. It's really impossible to consider Barry Manilow's "Copacabana" as anything other than a guilty pleasure. (Full disclosure: It's my go-to karaoke song. Fuller disclosure: I'm terrible at karaoke.)
Blaine's entry into the guilty-pleasure song fest is definitely, even if it's not a song that I personally would find pleasurable: "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now") by Phil Collins.
This next song, "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls (as performed by Marley,...

While "Feud" is a perfectly decent episode of "Glee," the episode also demonstrates everything problematic about the show as a whole. Every one of the many, many stories woven together in a complicated, lumpy tapestry made up of both a reasonable plot and sheer insanity.
High-class gigolos and the actual class of Santana
Life is complicated in New York City. It also makes sense only intermittently. Essentially, sense and logic are embodied by one person: Santana (Naya Rivera). Everyone and everything else is nutty.
First of all, we have the pregnancy false alarm. Rachel (Lea Michele) was going to have to face the consequence of her actions -- and those consequences could have been disastrous. Now... Not so much. She's just got boy problems. Again.
Santana calls it perfectly: "Rachel, you can't just blow past this like nothing ever happened."
Substitute "Rachel" with "Glee," and you have my biggest complaint...

Plus, Ryder may be getting catfished. And Rachel finds out if she’s really pregnant.
In a perfect Glee world, Marley (Melissa Benoist) would be dating both Ryder (Blake Jenner) and Jake (Jacob Artist), Rachel (Lea Michele) would never have had a pregnancy scare, Will (Matthew Morrison) and Finn (Cory Monteith) would be best friends again and Brody (Dean Geyer) would be earning money as a real cater waiter. But then that wouldn’t be fun, would it?
Rachel Finds Out If She’s Pregnant
I can’t say I didn’t see this one coming. Rachel goes to the doctor and finds out she’s not pregnant. For those who were hoping the original pregnancy test was a false alarm, you can rest assured. For those of you who were hoping Ms. Berry would be carrying a little berry of her own (like Me!), take a moment to roll...

Brody is gonna get majorly sassed by Santana on the March 14 episode of ‘Glee’, after she gives him a piece of her mind for mistreating Rachel!
Wow Naya Rivera! Where did you learn to dance like that? The sexy star’s performance of Paula Abdul‘s hit “Cold Hearted” is anything but cold — it’s red hot! Brody (Dean Geyer) looks like he is positively shaking in his boots as Santana gives him a dressing down for sneaking around on Rachel (Lea Michele). Watch the performance here!
Santana Sings ‘Cold Hearted’ On ‘Glee’
Any Gleek who knows their stuff will be aware that Brody has been up to some shady stuff lately — he appears to be either a drug dealer or a male hooker — and Santana is calling him out! Or calling him a cold hearted snake.
The sassy former cheer leader arrives at Nyada to give Brody a piece of her mind,...

If you like mash-ups and/or pop-culture feuds, then "Feud" is the "Glee" episode for you. High tension at McKinley High School means angry and battling songs -- from Elton John vs. Madonna to Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey to 'N Sync to Backstreet Boys. Check out the songs from the episode here.
What brought on this feuding? Beyond the normal conflicts that plague everyday life on "Glee," there is the big issue of how Finn (Cory Monteith) kissed Emma (Jayma Mays) shortly before she was supposed to marry Will (Matthew Morrison). That kind of thing tends to make people angry.
In order to combat this, the members of New Directions assign their instructors to the task of exploring musical feuds. This is "Glee," so this will probably help a lot.
Meanwhile in New York, things are also tense. With Santana (Naya Rivera) as a roommate and issues between Rachel...

Tearful confessions were made on the March 7 episode of ‘Glee.’ Were they all necessary?
What you don’t know, can’t hurt you, right? Well, the students of McKinely High (past and present) don’t seem to follow that mantra. In fact, dirty little secrets were practically vomited out of their mouths as if their lives depended on it on the March 7 episode of Glee.
Santana Finds Rachel’s Pregnancy Test
Santana (Naya Rivera) settles into Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) humble abode in New York City, but not without slinging a handful of insults at them. (Seriously, Naya needs her own show. I can’t even remember the last time I laughed so hard during an episode of Glee.)
In the midst of all of her insults, Naya has a way of sniffing out things that our favorite characters would rather keep hidden. For instance, during a viewing of Moulin Rouge,...
