This ‘The Office’ Star Wasn’t Excited for Her Character to Come Between Jim and Pam
Image
The Officehad some dedicated fans and now with the Office Ladies podcast, fans can get a deeper look into the show from stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey. The American adaptation ran for 9 seasons and had Fischer's Pam in love with John Krasinski's Jim Halpert. Played by Lindsey Broad, the character was a replacement for Pam, who was on maternity leave, and Cathy flirted with Jim. And Broad knew it wouldn't go over well with fans.

While on the Office Ladies podcast, Broad shared her thoughts when she learned about her flirtation with Jim, saying "I remember when I first realized it was going in that direction, and I was just like, 'Oh no, oh no." She went on to clarify that she...

The Office: What Happened To Cathy Simms?
Image
The Office often had characters come and go from Dunder Mifflin, including employee Cathy Simms, who appeared to disappear with no explanation. When Pam is preparing to go on maternity leave for the second time in The Office, Cathy is hired as a part-time replacement to fill her role. Cathy is young and energetic, a bit of a different character from the usual employees still working in Scranton. She shadows Pam for the first time in season 8, episode 7 “Pam’s Replacement” and there is a minor stir among the office, who tease Pam about there being a younger version of her at her desk.

When Cathy arrives, there is a minor plotline about Pam feeling inadequate compared to the younger worker taking her place. Jim would never cheat on Pam, and it’s clear he has no interest in Cathy beyond as a coworker. It seems that’s it for...

The Office: Why Cathy Disappeared After Season 8, Explained
Image
While The Office had a core cast of recurring characters, there were some who had short-lived appearances, including Cathy, who disappeared after season 8. As The Office focuses on a realistic working environment, it was conceivable that various employees at Dunder Mifflin would come and go. The character Cathy, played by Lindsey Broad, made an impact for the short period she was on the mockumentary sitcom. Stepping in to cover while Pam (Jenna Fischer) was on maternity leave gave enough time for her character to cause a stir with her attraction to Jim (John Krasinski) and further the show's overall narrative, which could have resulted in a different ending.

Though necessary for the job, Cathy was an unsettling presence in the workplace, especially for Pam. Considering Jim and Pam were absent from The Office for only one episode, audiences had developed a strong connection with the two characters, always hoping their relationship would last.

Rose McIver Talks ‘Ghosts’ Finale and Season 2 Plans, ‘A Christmas Prince 4’ Hopes

Spoler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “Farnsby & B,” the Season 2 finale of “Ghosts.”

Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) finally opened their bed & breakfast in the “Ghosts” Season 1 finale Thursday — only for their dreams to come literally crashing down moments later thanks to a curse. In the closing seconds of the episode, titled “Farnsby & B,” Sam and Jay are ready to welcome their first guests to the Woodstone B&b after defeating their enemy neighbors the Farnsbys in a game of pickle ball to get them to close their spitefully opened competitor, the Farsnby & B.

But just as they open the doors, the floorboards crumble beneath them, suggesting the curse Thor (Devan Chandler Long) put on them before he got to know Sam is actually real. And because Sam didn’t break the curse earlier in the episode — for fear that would reverse her ability to see ghosts Thor,...

John Krasinski Refused to Film ‘The Office’ Scene Where Jim Cheats on Pam, Forcing Creator to Cut It
Image
John Krasinski is not the actor one would associate with having a set tantrum, but such was the case when “The Office” threatened to screw with Jim and Pam’s fan-favorite relationship during the show’s eighth season. “The Office” fans will remember that was the season in which Pam went away on maternity leave and was replaced by temporary office administrator Cathy. The new character had the hots for Krasinski’s Jim, but “The Office” showrunner Greg Daniels wanted to take things a bit further by having Jim and Cathy make out. To put it mildly, Krasinski refused.

“That’s the only time I remember putting my foot down,” Krasinski writes in the new oral history book “Welcome to Dunder Mifflin: The Ultimate Oral History of The Office” (via Uproxx). “I remember saying things that I never thought I’d say before, like, ‘I’m not going to shoot it.

Interview: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Invokes Christopher Nolan in Directorial ‘Don Jon’ Debut
Chicago – Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a unique dichotomy. Part independent and part mainstream film actor, he’s managed to succeed as both. And with this Friday’s release of “Don Jon,” add to that list a first-time writer and director. But none of it could have been without Christopher Nolan.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Nolan – who made his worldwide mark with “Memento,” “Batman Begins,” “The Prestige,” “The Dark Knight,” “Inception” and “The Dark Knight Rises” – is credited with making Joseph Gordon-Levitt mainstream.

Jgl – as I’ll hereafter refer to him because 20 characters is too many and it’s almost as cool as Neil Patrick Harris’ Nph – has been mentored heavily by Nolan. Jgl starred in Nolan’s “Inception” (his mainstream breakout role) and then “The Dark Knight Rises”.

Entirely of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, only 32 years old and from Los Angeles, this 5-foot-9 “Regular Joe” turned once again to Nolan when he decided to embark on his own project.

New Don Jon Trailer Strides Online
Julianne Moore, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Scarlett Johansson in Don Jon (2013)
You may have already caught the first trailer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, Don Jon, which outlined the things that the titular Jersey boy likes: keeping in shape, his family, his car, his hair and romancing women, none of whom seem to match up to his addiction to online porn. 'Dracula' adds a leading lady and more casting and pilot news
NBC's forthcoming series "Dracula" is setting up something of a love triangle, and it's just cast the third side.

Irish actress Victoria Smurfit ("About a Boy," "The Beach") will play Lady Jayne in the drama. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays the title character, who's posing as a doctor in 1890s London.

Jayne will feel an instant attraction to Dracula (who's going by the name Alan Grayson), but he's hung up on Mina (Jessica DeGouw), whom he believes is the reincarnation of his late wife.

Other pilot-season news:

- CBS has cast Blake Garrett Rosenthal ("New Girl") as Anna Faris' 8-year-old son in its comedy pilot "Mom," from Chuck Lorre.

- Patty Jenkins ("Monster," "The Killing") has been tapped to direct ABC's drama pilot "Betrayal." It's about a woman who's having an affair with a defense lawyer -- who happens to be trying a case against her husband, who's a prosecutor.

'Til Death: Fox Sitcom Cancelled, No Season Five
Launching a new series these days can be really tough. It either hits really big, or you're out. Fox's 'Til Death got more chances than most but the axe has finally swung. The network confirmed today that it was indeed cancelling the show.

'Til Death debuted on Fox back in 2006 with veteran sitcom stars Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Joely Fisher (Ellen). They play Eddie and Joy, an "old married couple," who have annoyingly optimistic newlywed neighbors, the Woodcocks (Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster).

Each subsequent season then seemed to change its focus. The second season brought in a new character, Kenny (J.B. Smoove), Eddie's friend from the Big Brother program. The next season had Kenny moving in with Eddie and Joy. Season four brought their daughter (Lindsey Broad, then Kate Micucci) and her boyfriend/husband (Timm Sharp) as they moved into...
