The Mentalist: Season Seven Ratings
CBS has announced that this is the final season of The Mentalist. The ratings have been coming down for awhile but will they rally for the last 13 episodes? Will the network regret ending the series? Could there be an eighth season after all if the numbers are strong enough?

On The Mentalist, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) continues to help solve tough cases, using his razor sharp skills of observation. How will the relationship of Jane and Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) affect their work? This time around the supporting castmembers are Tim Kang, Rockmond Dunbar, Joe Adler, and Josie Loren.

The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest. (more…)...

Simon Baker in The Mentalist (2008)
The following contains spoilers from this week’s episode of The Mentalist.

With just three episodes left to air, CBS’ The Mentalist this Wednesday night pulled the trigger on a catalytic final story arc for Patrick Jane, by killing off FBI Agent Michelle Vega. As CBS’ The Mentalist opens its farewell run this Sunday at 9:30/8:30c, the FBI team has bid adieu to Agent Fisher. A fresh new recruit, though, is joining their ranks — but she’d perhaps be wise to behold Patrick Jane’s mad skills.

On The Glades this week, Jim was up to his ears in murder and culture as he had to investigate who killed a billionaire art collector in "Gallerinas." At the same time, he was attempting to determine what to do about Jeff possibly contacting Ray without Wit-Sec’s knowledge.

I have to give The Glades one thing this season: the show is taking full advantage of being set in Florida. Last week we got to learn about a 600-year old sport, this week the murder was set around Art Basel.

Jonathan Keltz
Film: "21 & Over"; Cast: Miles Teller, Justin Chon, Jonathan Keltz, Skylar Astin, Sarah Wright, Jonathan Keltz, Francois Chau, Russell Hodgkinson, Daniel Booko, Russell Mercado, Josie Loren, Christiann Castellanos and Dustin Ybarra; Writers-Directors: Jon Lucas and Scott Moore; Rating: ** 1/2 - a debauchery worth remembering.

The film "21 & Over" has the sensibilities of the west, but at its core, it carries sentimental messages of friendship. It's about three friends bonding, very much akin to Abhishek Kapoora's desi film "Kai Po Che!".

There are so many similarities between the two films that revealing the parallels.

Film Review: Drinking ‘The Hangover’ Formula, ‘21 and Over’ is a Poor Man’s ‘Animal House’
Chicago – When Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (the writers of “The Hangover” and its sequel) decided to go back in time to college with the same drunk movie formula, their resulting “21 and Over” neglected two major ingredients: being consistently funny and making bold new choices.

Rating: 2.0/5.0

Since you’re willingly entering a movie like this to shut down your brain and feast your eyes on human stupidity, that’ll pay off for you in the first 30 minutes. With the remaining short 63 minutes, though, you’ll see that “21 and Over” already blew its load and front-loaded most of its funnies.

After the first third of the film, the rest drags, some of the punch lines flop and dramatic moments that attempt to diversify the film’s humor aren’t emotional. “21 and Over” would have been better served going for pure comedy the whole time – like “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy...

'Make It Or Break It' series finale: Taking it to the mat one last time
Ayla Kell, Josie Loren, and Cassandra Scerbo in Make It or Break It (2009)
It’s probably for the best Make It Or Break It ended when it did. Kerri Strug might have pulled off a gold-clinching vault on a sprained ankle at the 1996 Olympics, but that kind of odds-flouting miracle certainly didn’t seem in store for the teen gymnasts of Miobi, who mostly limped to the finish of last night’s season 3 finale.

It was an issue of set-up, really. The entire dramatic thrust of the series has been centered on the girls’ dreams of competing at the 2012 London Olympics (an event that would likely happen before the return of the show...

'Bully' Premiere Ignores the Ratings Controversy, Goes for the Gut
Bully (2011)
"Bully" has seized the spotlight courtesy of Harvey Weinstein and the MPAA, but neither was in evidence at the film's premiere on Monday night at the Chinese 6 in Hollywood. Joel McHale, Julianna Rancic and Victoria Justice were the hosts; a number of familiar faces, including Gillian Jacobs, Jason Isaacs, Aisha Tyler, Josie Loren, Sierra McCormick and Diane Warren, were in attendance; and the film's director, Lee Hirsch, did most of the talking. But Weinstein was still in New York, where he'd attended the GLAAD Awards on Sunday to present a special...

A New Coach and a New Threat! Make It Or Break It Heads to the Olympic Training Camp
If the Make It or Break It girls thought the road to Nationals was tough, wait until they enter the U.S. Olympic training center.

ABC Family Announces Summer Premieres Plus Make It Or Break It Hitting Soon
It’s probably both surprising and old news to long-time readers (because I write snooty reviews, and talk about ABC Family a fair amount), but I’m simply a huge fan of ABC Family. I can’t really say why, and it isn’t exactly that I’m the world’s biggest Pretty Little Liars fan (though I was Aria once), but there’s something about the network and the show’s it delivers that, fan of any particular title or no, makes me happy they exist.

Even shows like Melissa & Joey, which seem to shut me right out on paper, have won me over as not only some of the coolest shows on TV (given sufficient demographic caveats), but moreover as strong arguments that television isn’t just about rotting your brain (though who would think I would be on the wrong side of that argument?). Look no further...
