Airborne Veers Off-Course: A Movie Review
*here be some spoilers. Director: Dominic Burns. Writer: Paul Chronnell. Cast: Mark Hamill, Craig Conway, Billy Murray, Sebastian Street, Simon Phillips, Julian Glover, Alan Ford, Gemma Atkinson, Rita Ramnani, and Andrew Shim. Chelsea Films is releasing Airborne across the United Kingdom on DVD July 30th. This is a film that puts a dozen passengers on a doomed flight across the Atlantic. One of their passengers is an ancient Chinese spirit that likes to possess the living. The other flight crew and trapped passengers are understandably shook up when the ghost of Chang starts offing characters via gory suicides. The action is almost laughable as the plot of a cursed vase threatens to ground this aircraft for good. And, something strange begins to happen as you watch this film. If you are a United Kingdom film fan, then you might notice that director Dominic Burns has recruited a few familiar faces.

Their anxieties are further increased when it becomes apparent that the flight has veered off course and it is revealed that the plane is carrying an interesting item of cargo: a rare and extremely valuable ancient Chinese vase. The assumption is that terrorists are responsible,...

On Friday, May 11th, the movie will premiere at 8:30 pm on five screens at the British Independent Film Festival. The five screens are the Empire Leicester Square (in London), the Empire cinemas in Poole and Newcastle and the Apollo Cinemas in Port Talbot and Stafford. We're told the Leicester Square screening is sold out; no word on the other four screens.

Directed by Dominic Burns, Airborne stars Mark Hamill, Sebastian Street, Simon Phillips, and Bill Murray. Chelsea Films will be releasing Airborne on Region 2 DVD in July.

Synopsis

Flight into Terror Enhanced With New Poster Artwork for British Flight Horror Airborne
UK sky-high horror 'Airborne' has disembarked a new piece of poster artwork. The new Black and Blue Films production from helmer Dominic Burns stars the legendary Mark Hamill ('Star Wars') and producer Jonathan Sothcott is hopeful that its 'more international' feel will help push the movie overseas. Airborne' was penned by Paul Chronell and also stars Alan Ford ('Snatch'), Craig Conway, Sebastian Street, Julian Glover ('Mirrors'), Fiona Ryan, Billy Murray ('Strippers vs. Werewolves'), Kimberly Jaraj and the sexy ex-Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson -below ('13hrs')...

Stag Night of the Dead and Breaking All the Rules: A Movie Review
*a screener of this film was provided by Left Films.

Director/writer: Neil Jones.

Cast: Sebastian Street, Sophie Lovell Anderson and Joe Rainbow.

There are three rules of Zomball in Stag Night of the Dead: 1) stay together, 2) look out for the recharge station and 3) never humiliate a zombie. The characters in Stag Night of the Dead break all of these rules and unsurprisingly, many of the characters do not make it to the end credits. Stag Night of the Dead will release on DVD and iTunes January 9th and this film is a satisfying romp through a zombie apocalypse. The grainy film stock and a few poor character choices are the only elements that hamper a comedic movie watching time.

The film begins with six men on stag. Dean (Sebastian Street) is the groom and he has only one more night of freedom before marrying his very bitchy sweetheart.

My Long Time Ago: In Search of Skywalker
I guess like many people of my age Mark Hamill has been an almost mythical figure to me in that he played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, the film that virtually every boy I knew of my age wanted to see.

It was the film that saw my 12 year-old self in a queue outside London’s Dominion Theatre two days after opening and then again outside the Odeon Leicester Square in the freezing cold a few days later. I even once sat through three consecutive showings at Ilford Odeon back in the day when nobody came in to clean the cinema or eject loafers like me in between times. Those were heady, dreamy days when movies were just movies with no thought of them being huge commercial juggernauts and back then the significant impact of Star Wars on me was that it acted as a catalyst for adventure and excitement in my pre-teen imagination,...
