‘Final Transmissions’ – Analog Horror Anthology Series Set in Eldritch to Feature Trevor Henderson Original Artwork
Image
A new analog horror series, Final Transmissions, is in the works, and it aims to capture the spirit of ’90s cable access television, featuring original artwork from Trevor Henderson.

The six-episode found footage anthology series is “Set in the small town of Eldritch, Illinois in 1999, the show follows a local TV host who begins airing strange and terrifying signals he claims to be receiving from unknown sources—each one more disturbing than the last.”

The series, which currently launched a campaign on Indiegogo, looks to capture the unnerving atmosphere of media like Unsolved Mysteries, The Blair Witch Project, Silent Hill, and Marble Hornets.

Created by husband-and-wife team Steven Hugh Nelson and Erica Nelson, Final Transmissions is described to blend “nostalgia, conspiracy, and existential dread into a surreal narrative told through grainy VHS aesthetics.”

“There’s something uniquely terrifying about found footage,” says Steven Hugh Nelson. “The rawness, the unpredictability—like...

‘Final Transmissions’ Exclusive: New Analog Horror Series Launches Crowdfunding Campaign
Unsolved Mysteries (2020)
From the eerie static of forgotten airwaves comes Final Transmissions, a six-episode analog horror anthology series that resurrects the haunted spirit of late-‘90s cable access television. Set in the small town of Eldritch, Illinois in 1999, the show follows a local TV host who begins airing strange and terrifying signals he claims to be receiving from unknown sources—each one more disturbing than the last.

The series, currently seeking $20,000 in funding on Indiegogo, aims to capture the unnerving atmosphere of media like Unsolved Mysteries, The Blair Witch Project, Silent Hill, and Marble Hornets.

Created by husband-and-wife team Steven Hugh Nelson and Erica Nelson, Final Transmissions blends nostalgia, conspiracy, and existential dread into a surreal narrative told through grainy VHS aesthetics.

“There’s something uniquely terrifying about found footage,” says Steven Hugh Nelson. “The rawness, the unpredictability—like you’ve discovered something you were never supposed to see. We grew up watching tapes that felt haunted,...

‘Lizzie Lazarus’ Soundtrack Available Digitally; Watch ‘Infants’ Music Video
Image
Composed by Alexandra Kalinowski, the soundtrack for Screambox’s Lizzie Lazarus is now available digitally on Spotify and Apple Music.

Watch the music video for “Infants” — arranged by Kalinowski and performed by Lizzie herself, Megan Oesterreich — below. The song opens the film, setting a quirky tone for the psychological folk-horror film.

“I am lucky to call Alexandra one of my closest friends and have gotten to collaborate with her multiple times over our 15 years of friendship. She is one of the sharpest cinematic minds, not just when it comes to film score, but when talking about story and themes,” says writer-director Aviv Rubinstien.

“As a result, I love to include her as early in the process as possible. Alexandra read and gave notes on the screenplay for Lizzie Lazarus, attended rehearsals, and worked on themes and motifs that I could provide to the actors to help them get into the vibe of the movie.

Doctor Strange 2 Concept Art Reveals Unused Nightmarish World Designs
Image
New Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness concept art has revealed unused nightmarish world designs. The Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) sequel saw the wizard, as Peter Parker (Tom Holland) likes to call him, traverse the multiverse to keep America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) safe from a villainous Wanda Maximoff. The Scarlet Witch wanted to absorb America's ability to punch holes in other realities so that she could bring alternate versions of her sons back to Earth-616. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness grossed 985 million worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing movie of 2022.

Weta Digital artist Aaron Black, who worked on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, shared new, unused concept art from the movie. The art pieces feature varied nightmarish world designs that Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange could have explored in the sequel while venturing through the multiverse. They also depict one of Strange's variants from the sequel. One...

DC Creates Major Plothole with Batgirl's Father
Image
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Batgirls #12!Most vigilantes don't have the healthiest relationships with their parents, and Stephanie Brown's Batgirl is no different. Superhero parents tend to range from beloved but dead to straight-up evil. First introduced as Spoiler in the early 90s, Stephanie Brown is the daughter of Arthur Brown, the Batman villain Cluemaster. Ironically, her dad was Steph's inspiration to become a hero, donning her handmade purple costume to "spoil" Cluemaster's plans.

However, Cluemaster wasn't destined to spar with her father for long, as his death wasn't far away. Considering their less than amicable relationship, Spoiler was unsure how to take it, especially since - having been a part of the Suicide Squad - Cluemaster "died with honor, in service to his country." Later, it was revealed that he was still alive, albeit severely scarred. It was his memories of Steph that kept Arthur going during his year of recuperation,...
