Exclusive: Louis Melville directs story of British soldiers in Afghanistan.

Moviehouse Entertainment has boarded world sales on writer-director Louis Melville’s completed UK war film Boots On The Ground.

Melville previously wrote and directed horror mystery The Man Who Sold The World and produces Boots On The Ground with Moon co-producer Alex Francis.

The film follows five British soldiers as they try to stay alive over the course of one night on deployment in Afghanistan.

The film stars Tom Ainsley, Ryan McParland, Sally Day, Ian Virgo, and Valmike Rampersad.

Melville brokered the deal for the producers with Moviehouse Entertainment’s Mark Vennis, who said: “We’re hugely excited to have secured sales rights for Boots On The Ground. We think it’s an innovative British horror that’ll take audiences to the edge of their seats.”

Releasing on August 5th is a new take on a Bollywood movie. Bazodee mixes elements of a Bollywood musical with a distinctly Caribbean island flavor. Set on the vivid, colorful islands of Trinidad & Tobago, the film pulses with the sensuous dance rhythms of Soca music. Directed by Todd Kessler, the film stars Kabir Bedi, Natalie Perera, Machel Montano, Kriss Dosanjh, Valmike Rampersad, and Staz Nair.

Bazodee, which means a state of confusion, a state of love, tells the story of Anita Ponchouri (Natalie Perera), the dutiful Indian daughter of a deep-in-debt businessman (Kabir Bedi). Anita is about to marry a wealthy Londoner (Staz Nair) when a chance encounter with local Trinidadian singer, Lee de Leon (Soca music star Machel Montano) sets things askew. Photographers Amit and Naroop recently hosted a private view of the much lauded Singh Project exhibition. Guests from stage and screen mingled with the photography subjects who took centre stage at the event.

Guests included Bend it Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha, RnB singer Jay Sean, music producer Talvin Singh, actors, Martin Delaney, Rez Kempton, Goldy Notay, Ameet Channa, Valmike Rampersad, presenters, Seema Pathan, Hardeep Singh Kohli and Sunny and Shay.

Since opening a week ago, the Singh Project has received much attention from photography enthusiasts and media alike, drawing a huge amount of attention for its bold and highly original images.

Valmike Rampersad has described the experience of working on Cloud 9 as "a brilliant opportunity".

The 32-year-old star plays the lead role of Ajay Shah in the path-breaking series produced by Brit-Asian lifestyle channel Zing TV.

Speaking to Digital Spy about the experience, Rampersad said: "It was an amazing experience to work for several months solidly and so intensely for 125 episodes.

"I think once it stops airing on TV, then it might kick in that it's over. But right now it hasn't sunk in. Obviously I'm gutted it's over. It's been a massive learning curve. A brilliant opportunity."

The UK's first British Asian daily soap featuring a multicultural cast, Rampersad feels that the show achieved its objective in representing the cultural experience of a new generation of British Asians through realistic storylines and characters.

The cast of Cloud 9 are celebrating 'Holi' (Festival of Colours) with a special episode.

The UK's first British Asian daily soap featuring a multicultural cast, Cloud 9 aims to represent the cultural experience of a new generation of British Asians.

The show's viewership has grown steadily since the pioneering series was first launched in January 2013.

Lead actor Valmike Rampersad, who plays Ajay, told Digital Spy why he first became interested in being a part of the ground-breaking series.

"I found it refreshing, because while it happens to be an Asian cast it's a very British drama. Nothing about it felt that it was a British Asian TV series," he explained.

"There are refreshing storylines, refreshing characters, a character who speaks like me, who doesn't have some sort of dumbed down Asian accent, who's educated - which is rare in Asian television - and not driving a taxi and I'm not a terrorist.
