Nearly 12 years later, Lea Michele recently reflected on the 2013 death of her Glee co-star and late boyfriend Cory Monteith.

The 2x Golden Globe nominee explained that she “just completely broke” after Monteith died at age 31 of combined heroin and alcohol toxicity, noting that her relationship with her co-stars felt “really fractured” following his death.

Riley said there was a planned “full-blown” sex scene where Mercedes loses her virginity to her boyfriend, Sam. After Riley rejected the idea, Falchuk pitched a more toned down angle for the scene.

“He said, ‘Well what if we just, you know, have you guys hold hands and walk to the room and then like close the door,’” she said. “And I was just like, ‘No, I’m not doing it.’”

Riley continued, “I don’t tell y’all, no. I don’t fight on anything.

New Girl's Abby Day added chaos but her unfinished storyline highlighted only the worst in others, hence her quick exit. Seinfeld stuck to its no learning mantra, avoiding on-and-off relationship dynamics and ensuring consistency.

Certain storylines in television series just do not work, and the show ended up being better off for abandoning them altogether. While it may be a strange experience for audiences to notice storylines that have dropped before they have been resolved, this was sometimes done because there was nothing to be gained from continuing unpopular stories, keeping unnecessary characters in the show, or proceeding with plotlines that nobody was engaged in anymore. This may result in the series feeling somewhat incomplete, but often this was a small price to pay for the sake of entertainment.

Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, and other Glee cast members have reunited to add their voices to a previously unreleased song by their late costar, Naya Rivera.

Prayers for the Broken was recorded by Rivera in 2012. New background vocals have been added by McHale, Ushkowitz, Riley, Heather Morris, Vanessa Lengies, and Ashley Fink.

The song is now available online for download, streaming, or purchase, released as part of nonprofit Alexandria House’s annual Snixxmas Charity Fundraiser honoring Rivera, who was a supporter of the Los Angeles-based charity. The organization provides safe and supportive housing for women and children.
