Unlike his character in Glee (2009), Kevin does not use a wheelchair. In fact, co-star Chris Colfer stated in 2010 that McHale is regarded as being the best dancer among the cast.

He was a member of the boy band NLT - which stood for Not Like Them, supposedly to indicate their difference from other boy bands (McHale has admitted that they were, in fact, not much different). The band broke up in April 2009.

Appears in the music video for Katy Perry's single, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)", alongside Rebecca Black, Darren Criss, Corey Feldman, Kenny G, Debbie Gibson, Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson and Zac Hanson.

In Season 7 Episode 8 of "The Office" named "Viewing Party" The Character Michael Scott states that his favorite character in the hit show "Glee" is "the invalid" referring to the character played by Kevin McHale. Ironically, Kevin McHale acted in an episode of "The Office" in Season 4 where he becomes a prisoner of Michael Scott as a Pizza Boy who refuses to honor a coupon.

Attended acting classes as a teen at KD College, subsidiary of KD Studios, Inc.

He is of Irish descent, with roots in County Mayo.

Kevin is the uncle of actor Jack Horan and actress Rose Horan.

Is a big fan of Michael Jackson from an early age.
