Buuuuumps! According to a mathematical announcement from Warner Bros. Animation’s Annecy Animation Festival panel, Jake the Dog and Finn the Human will return to screens for more Adventure Time! Cartoon Network Studios is working on three new Adventure Time projects, including a movie and two new series! The creative team for the Adventure Time movie is out of this world, with Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar, Over the Garden Wall co-creator Patrick McHale, and Adventure Time showrunner Adam Muto leading the charge.
In addition to the Adventure Time film, a series focusing on Finn’s childhood adventures called Adventure Time: Side Missions is in the works. The series takes us back to Finn’s youth when he dreamed of going on elaborate adventures with his best friend, Jake the Dog. Instead of creating another episodic epic, Adventure Time: Side Missions is a collection of standalone episodes featuring early incarnations of fan-favorite characters,...

J.G. Quintel’s new “Regular Show” and Craig McCracken’s “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” spin-off both feature in a new production slate from Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
Unveiled Wednesday at Annecy to an appreciative crowd at Annecy’s MIFA market, which greeted multiple shows with whoops of enthusiasm, the two new announcements join a new “Adventure Time” series, “Side Quests,” as greenlights at the Warner-owned companies.
The new slate also boasts two more “Adventure Time” shows in development, plus an unannounced Scooby-Doo project.
The big question raised by the studio’s Annecy focus is whether the surge in new shows is a temporary anomaly or marks a broader indicator of a more sustained return by Warner Bros. Discovery to fuller-on animation production after the lull of the recent past.
Certainly, news will not come much bigger at this year’s Annecy than “Adventure Time,...

Ahead of today’s Warner Bros. Animation studio focus panel at the Annecy Animation Festival, Variety has learned that Cartoon Network Studios (Cns) is working on three new “Adventure Time” properties, including a movie and two new series.
Currently in development, details are still scant regarding the “Adventure Time” movie, but the project features an animation superstar lineup of talent including “Steven Universe” creator Rebecca Sugar, “Over the Garden Wall” co-creator Patrick McHale and “Adventure Time” showrunner Adam Muto. All are “Adventure Time” vets.
Already greenlit at Cns, “Adventure Time: Side Quests” is a kids’ series that will take audiences back in time to when Finn was just a kid who dreamed of epic quests and monster fights with his best friend, Jake the Dog.
Rather than featuring a lore-heavy narrative spread across episodes and seasons, as “Adventure Time” and “Fiona and Cake” did, “Side Quests” will deliver stand-alone episodes...

Originally debuting in 1990, Tiny Toons Adventures brought a new generation of Looney Tunes to the world of animation. Introducing a generation of students to a school for cartoon greats, the show ran for nearly a hundred episodes. Now, over thirty years later, the classic characters are back in a new form. Tiny Toons Looniversity refreshes the concept for 2023, introducing new takes on the cast while retaining the goofy spirit that made them endearing in the first place.
During an interview with Cbr ahead of Tiny Toons Looniversity's debut on Max and Cartoon Network, co-showrunner and co-ep Nate Cash, Eric Bauza (Buster), Tessa Netting (Sweetie), and David Errigo Jr. (Plucky & Hampton) sat down to discuss carrying on the legacy of the cartoons they loved as children, the surprisingly grounded elements of the goofy cartoon universe and exploring the real ramifications of going to college to be a toon.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Max unveiled the all-new theme song for Tiny Toons Looniversity, a reboot of the beloved 90s cartoon Tiny Toon Adventures.
Announced back in 2020, Tiny Toons Looniversity will finally be released on Cartoon Network and Max this fall. The show brings back all of the original show's memorable characters, though it's not exactly a revival, as some changes have been made to the characters, notably with Buster and Babs now depicted as twin siblings rather than best friends. However, the new theme song unveiled by Max at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday will be familiar, as it's a revamped version of the original theme for Tiny Toon Adventures. It's one way of teasing how the classic cartoon will still serve as a big inspiration for the reboot series.

They’re still tiny and now they’re learning to be a little looney with a new spin on one of television’s most catchy theme songs.
Tiny Toons Looniversity, the updated take on 1990s favorite Tiny Toon Adventures, used its time at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday morning to unveil its theme song, which as you’d expect, is based on the beloved theme song from the original — but with a new twist.
Composer Matthew Janszen has taken composer Bruce Broughton’s Daytime Emmy-winning tune and remixed the original arrangement and lyrics to fit the rebooted show made for a new generation.
The voice cast features Eric Bauza as Buster, Daffy and Gossamer; Ashleigh Hairston as Babs; David Errigo Jr. as Hamton J. Pig and Plucky; and Tessa Netting as Sweety. Looniversity also brings back Tiny Toon Adventures grads Jeff Bergman, Bob Bergen, Candi Milo and Cree Summer, who...

2013 was an absolutely amazing year for television, with shows like Breaking Bad and Spartacus going out with some of their best episodes yet and new series like Hannibal and Orphan Black bursting onto the scene. While the jury’s still out on how this year will compare to last, at the halfway point, 2014 is shaping up to be pretty darn great year as well. Continuing favorites have come back stronger than ever and just like last year, a few new series have quickly made strong names for themselves as well; the variety of truly great television, from comedy to drama to the many series that don’t so easily fit either description, has never been so pronounced.
However, with so much TV out there, some of the best episodes (and series in general) of the year have flown under the radar, so a handful of Sound on Sight’s podcasters...

Jennifer Yuh Nelson's "Kung Fu Panda 2" dominated the Annie Awards nominations, but the International Animated Film Society decided to give its highest honor -- the Best Animated Feature award -- to Gore Verbinski's "Rango." Both films are from DreamWorks Animation and they still have to duke it out at the upcoming Oscars in the Best Animated Feature Film category.
Besides the Best Animated trophy, "Rango" also collected awards for Best Editing and Writing. But Nelson, the first woman to direct a feature film animation from a major Hollywood production company, won the Directing in a Feature Production award! Yay! I'm a huge fan of animation, animated films are getting better and better. Not only is the look and animation getting ridiculously awesome, but I find that many of these animated films actually have incredibly good stories. Not all of them are good though, for example, Cars 2 and Rio sucked. It will be interesting to see who ends up taking home the awards this year. Out of the movies on the list that I've seen and liked we have Puss in Boots, Rango and Kung Fu Panda 2. I guess it's no surprises that Kung Fu Panda 2 is leading the nominations with 9. Check out the list and let us know what your favorite animated movies of the year are!
