The Runarounds (2025)
A young group of up-and-coming rock stars write love songs that could change the world in The Runarounds trailer
The Runarounds (2025)
As the lead singer of several bands throughout my middle school and high school career, I, too, have dreamt about making music that would turn heads. While each project had its time, it then faded away as my bandmates and I got older. I don’t regret a single moment spent on stage, much like the musicians-turned-actors featured in Jonas and Josh Pate’s latest television drama, The Runarounds. Prime Video debuted a trailer for The Runarounds yesterday, highlighting the newest project from the creators of Outer Banks.

Coming to Prime Video on September 1, The Runarounds stars real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher. They are at the center of the Pates’ coming-of-age drama, with fellow cast members Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, Mark Wystrach, Brooklyn Decker, Hayes MacArthur, and Shea Pritchard.

In The Runarounds trailer, we follow graduating high school band members in Wilmington,...

To put it in perspective, in a 2011 interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Decker amusingly remarked on her height difference with Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, saying, “She’s [Jennifer Aniston] tiny! She’s so little, but then I’m like 5ft 9ins so I’m a giant compared to most people, but she’s so little and petite and the cutest thing”.

Rihanna’s 34% Rated ‘Unwatchable’ Movie Finds Second Life at Prime Video Just Behind Tom Cruise
Image
When Rihanna’s sci-fi action, Battleship, hit cinema screens in 2012, it was instantly labeled a box office disaster. The film, loosely based on the Hasbro board game, was backed by a big budget, explosive visuals, and a star-studded cast- but it all fell flat with both viewers and critics.

With a slew of negative reviews and ratings branding it as “unwatchable”, the film seemed destined for celluloid oblivion. Despite Universal Pictures pouring in a hefty amount into production and marketing, the film barely earned enough to recoup costs, falling substantially short of expectations.

But in a surprising twist, Battleship has found an unexpected second wind. As of May 2025, the movie surged to Amazon Prime Video’s Top 10 Movies in the USA, sitting right behind Mission: Impossible– Dead Reckoning.

Rihanna’s box office flop is thriving on Prime Video

Directed by Peter Berg, Battleship was a high-powered action film based on...

10 Best So-Bad-They're-Good Movies From The 2010s
Image
The 2010s were an underrated decade when it comes to movies that are so bad that they're amazing, with multiple strong contenders for the specific subgenre of awful movies that are impossible to look away from. When it comes to the best "so bad they're good" movies, the 90s and early 2000s tend to dominate, with classics like Troll 2 and The Room being classic examples. But more recent years have proven that such delicious garbage never stopped being produced.

Laughably bad movies from the 2010s tend to come in two primary flavors; big-budget studio investments that were huge misses and poorly-conceived indie movies made for pennies. Both offer their own unique brand of potent failure, from major decisions that were bafflingly agreed upon by huge studio executives to single-minded visions of bizarre cinematic auteurs that give Tommy Wiseau a run for his money. For those that can appreciate a uniquely terrible film,...

Adam Sandler Won a Razzie for Just Go with It Based On an Oscar-Winner
Image
More often than not, a film's remake doesn't live up to the original. Add Adam Sandler's comedy into the mix of a remake, and it will certainly be a stinker. Sandler's 2011 film Just Go with It marked a low point for the actor's career, winning the actor a Razzie for his performance, even though it was based on an Oscar-winning film.

The plot of Just Go with It focuses on Adam Sandler's character, Dr. Danny Maccabee when he gets caught in a lie while wooing a girl. Danny still owns a wedding ring from a marriage that never lasted past the wedding day, and as he's flirting with a teacher, she finds his ring. She thinks he's using her to cheat on his wife, but he tells her he's going through a divorce. He convinces his assistant, played by Jennifer Aniston, to pretend to be his wife, so he can keep up the lie.

Huge-budgeted blockbuster filmmaking has defined culture over the last few decades, and every studio is trying to get their cut of the profits. Sometimes, when a studio decides to put lots of money behind an idea to try and make a big hit happen, the film flops at the box office to such a degree that it sends seismic waves across the industry.

Just Go With It Ending Explained: What Happens With Danny & Katherine
Image
Adam Sandler's character in Just Go with It gets the girl in the end, though not the one he was initially going for. The 2011 romantic comedy stars Sandler as Danny, a plastic surgeon whose heart was broken when he found out his fiance was cheating on their wedding day. He called the whole thing off, but this ultimately led to his realization that wearing a wedding ring and pretending to be stuck in a horrible marriage made it easier to pick up girls. Danny used this method for decades until he met the much younger Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) and fell in love.

After spending a fantastic night with Palmer on the beach in Just Go with It, Danny confessed the seriousness of his feelings. However, when Palmer found Danny's fake wedding ring in his pants pocket, things quickly fell apart. In a panic, Danny told Palmer that he was...

Every Adam Sandler & Jennifer Aniston Movie Ranked
Image
With combined star power and charming chemistry, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston's collaborative movies have proven they are a wonderful cinematic pairing. Sandler and Aniston made big splashes in the '90s, and their careers continued to pick up steam in the following decades until they became Hollywood giants. Sandler's antics made him a comedy legend, while Aniston's more understated turns make her the perfect foil for any goofball co-star. Though it took years for the duo to finally appear together, the pairing immediately proved to be a perfect match, leading to a follow-up that reunited them again.

Starting in 2011 with Just Go with It, Sandler and Aniston's chemistry on screen was immediately apparent, and their individual styles managed to elevate each other's performances. The key to the success of the Sandler/Aniston films has been her ability to go along with his over-the-top comedy without ever being overshadowed.

Jennifer Annistons 19% Rotten Tomatoes Rom-Com Classic Is Dominating Peacock
Image
One of Jennifer Aniston's most classic rom-coms of her career is finding success nearly 15 years after release. Just Go With It, the 2011 romantic comedy starring in which Adam Sandler also stars opposite Aniston, has made its way into the top 10 most popular movies on Peacock. The film falls just short of M. Night Shyamalan's Old, which is enjoying success while Trap is still playing in theaters, but beats out both Men in Black sequels and also the Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock rom-com, The Proposal. In addition to Aniston and Sandler, Just Go With It also stars Nicole Kidman, Brooklyn Decker, Nick Swardson, and Dan Patrick, and currently sits at a dismal 19% score from critics but a 59% rating from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Movies That Deserve a Do-Over
Image
When famous source material gets accurately adapted, they typically receive praise for staying true to what came before and knowing how to stand out above the crowd. However, if the final product is negatively received by critics and audiences, it gains a different reputation. The latter outcome is the case for some film adaptations that have become remembered for being largely disappointing.

Whether adapted from books, video games, or other forms of media, these movies are noteworthy for being severe letdowns. Nevertheless, it isn't too late for Hollywood to try again, since enough time has passed for a remake or a do-over. With better writing and attention to what is required to faithfully adapt these intellectual properties, filmmakers can learn from past mistakes to give fans what they want. From superhero projects like Green Lantern and Catwoman to video game adaptations like Assassin's Creed and Max Payne, these movies are...
