Mark Cuban was once the proud majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks and now owns a 27% stake in the basketball team. However, when it comes to basketball skills, it appears that he hasn’t been to that many practice sessions with the Mavericks. When a basketball-based product was pitched on Shark Tank Season 12, Cuban’s shooting skills were put on display.
Another shark on the panel, Barbara Corcoran, was interested in the product. However, she also admitted that Cuban wasn’t that great at basketball. The company, Grind, walked away with a good deal that saw Corcoran and Cuban team up.
Grind was an idea pitched by former basketball player Thomas Fields, whose injury stopped him from pursuing an NBA career. He came up with the idea of a portable and collapsible shooting and rebounding machine that helps up-and-coming players with their practice.

Shark Tank has been the go-to show for every aspiring entrepreneur. Apart from the five venture capitalists, the show has also managed to bring in some of the most influential people from the business world. But not everyone was easy to manage for ABC Network. The same was true for Chris Sacca, who, apart from his billion-dollar business empire, was quite difficult for the makers to handle.

The reason for this will surely shock many, as his simplicity was something that became a huge task for the producers.
The real reason why ABC Network struggled because of Chris Sacca
Throughout the years, fans have spotted several high-profile guests stepping onto the Shark Tank stage. From Ashton Kutcher to Kevin Hart, the show brought in possible investors from different sectors of the industry. While Sir Richard Branson is famous for his own reasons,...

In the game of basketball, loyalty is as precious as a buzzer-beater at the final second. But when the Dallas Mavericks traded their face of the franchise, Luka Doncic, to the Los Angeles Lakers, they seemed to have thrown that loyalty out the window like a bad pass.
Yes, one of the NBA’s brightest young stars has been traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers in what is being called one of the most jaw-dropping trades in league history.

Mark Cuban, once the loud and proud majority owner, has taken a backseat in recent years, and when this bombshell hit, fans were left upset and disappointed, probably asking, “Who made this call?” Spoiler alert: It wasn’t Cuban.
That dubious honor belongs to Nico Harrison, the Mavericks’ general manager, who, in a move that shocked the basketball world, orchestrated the trade.

The departure of the Stars leaves Bally Sports channels with just nine NHL teams in their inventory.
The Dallas Stars are the latest professional sports team to leave the regional sports network (Rsn) ecosystem. The team will depart from its longtime broadcast partner Bally Sports Southwest starting in the 2024-25 season, as the two sides have mutually agreed to terminate their contract in bankruptcy court. The team will air live, in-market games on a new streaming service dubbed Victory+, and best of all it will be free to watch for viewers in the team’s broadcasting footprint.
Key Details: Bally Sports’ parent company Diamond Sports Group agreed to allow the Stars out of their broadcasting contract last week. Victory+ will be an ad-supported streaming service that carries Stars games in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. The team is also on the hunt for a local TV deal. 7-Day Free Trial $19.99+ / month ballysports.

Buy low, sell high. Mark Cuban just proved himself a master of that tried-and-true investment mantra.
The Shark Tank mainstay is not only swimming away from that show after 14 successful seasons, he has now received approval from the NBA Board of Governors to sell the majority stake in his beloved Dallas Mavericks.
Cuban bought the Mavericks for $285 million in 2000 is now selling the team for about $3.5 billion. That’s a cool $3-plus billion over the purchase price and Cuban will reportedly retain 27% of the team and may well retain control of basketball operations. A pretty sweet deal.
Per Yahoo Sports:
Cuban is selling at a time franchise values are rising (in part based on a new national television broadcast deal starting in 2025 [that is] expected to double that national revenue) and likely expansion will bring a flood of cash to teams’ bottom lines (through expansion fees). Cuban has expressed concern in...

When the coronavirus pandemic shut down production in Los Angeles in March, the producers of Shark Tank started to look for other options. They ultimately picked up and left the city, filming their 12th season at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. The result was probably the show’s best season ever, according to showrunner/exec producer Clay Newbill.
Created by Mark Burnett based on the international format Dragons’ Den, the ABC reality series follows entrepreneurs as they make business presentations to a panel of elite investors, or “sharks” — including billionaire Mark Cuban and branding expert Daymond John — who decide whether they’d like to invest in their company or product. At its core, the show is about being disruptive and thinking outside the box. And this year, John commented to Newbill, ”the show that’s about innovation had to get innovative.”
