Three Reasons Why the Tom Brady Roast Is the Most Important Comedy of 2024
Image
Every year seems to have its defining comedy event. In this decade, we had Bo Burnham’s Inside in 2021, Jerrod Carmichael’s Rothanial in 2022 and John Mulaney’s Baby J in 2023.

2024 is barely past the halfway mark, but it’s clear that we’ve already experienced the comic entry that’s going to leave the biggest footprint on the year: The Roast of Tom Brady. The Netflix special likely won’t be responsible for 2024’s most clever comedy, sharpest social commentary or most transcendent performances. But there are at least three reasons why The Roast of Tom Brady is the most important comedy we’ll see all year…

1 The Roast Is Back, Baby

The roast was arguably the most durable form of comedy in the early part of his century, courtesy of the comic skewering of Chevy Chase, David Hasselhoff, William Shatner and other acclaimed doofuses. Then the pendulum...

Inside Casey Wasserman’s Lavish 50th Birthday Bash
Image
In recent years, L.A. entertainment and sports mogul Casey Wasserman has successfully striven to be perceived as his own man. A power player in his own right — not firstly the well-connected grandson of late Hollywood mogul Lew Wasserman, the McA/Universal head and political fixer. Along with recent industry acquisitions, including Paradigm’s music business and management firm Brillstein Partners, he led L.A.’s successful bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics and now leads the games’ organizing committee.

But at his 50th birthday blowout on June 28, Wasserman reminded everyone of the relationship. (He took the surname as an adult; Lew is his maternal grandfather.)

Guests were photographed in a recreation of industry-favored deli Nate ’n Al’s — he and his grandfather’s weekend bonding spot where generations of dealmakers first met Casey. The setup included a sign reading “Lew ’n Casey,” in the restaurant’s iconic retro orange typography, which...

The Patriots Cut This Bill Burr Joke at Tom Brady’s Team Hall of Fame Induction
Image
Life was a little easier for Tom Brady at his induction into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame than it was during his red-hot Netflix roast. Brady was honored by the team last weekend — six Super Bowl rings will do that for a guy — with former teammates like Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski on hand to sing his praises. Nowhere during the ceremony did anyone come close to Nikki Glaser’s epic burn from last month: “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

Bill Burr was on hand to warm up the crowd, but the Patriots decided to exercise some editorial control over his punchlines. And surprisingly, the joke that offended them the most wasn’t even at Brady’s expense — the target was Brady’s long-time rival, Peyton Manning.

Burr shared the joke on his Monday Morning Podcast. “I was gonna be like,...

Tom Brady Loudly Booed During His TV Analyst Debut Under $375 Million Contract By Fans Still Upset Over Rams 2002 Super Bowl Loss
Image
In his broadcasting debut for Fox on Sunday, Tom Brady received a less-than-warm welcome from St. Louis fans during the Ufl championship game.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion was on hand to present the Mvp trophy to Birmingham Stallions quarterback Adrian Martinez following their 25-0 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas. But the crowd loudly booed Brady when he took the field.

The animosity dates back to the Patriots’ upset win over the heavily favored St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl Xxxvi in 2002. Brady was an unproven 24-year-old at the time, leading New England to a stunning 20-17 victory.

Before the Ufl game, Brady chatted on the field with Kurt Warner, who quarterbacked the Rams in that Super Bowl loss. Some, including Warner, have questioned the legitimacy of the Patriots’ win after the franchise was later implicated in the Spygate scandal for videotaping opposing teams’ signals.

“It added a sliver of doubt,...

Gisele Bundchen & Joaquim Valente Break Up After Being Mocked At Tom Brady’s Controversial Roast
Image
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her jiu-jitsu instructor boyfriend, Joaquim Valente, have reportedly ended their relationship. The breakup may have been triggered by the aftermath of Tom Brady’s recent celebrity roast, which Bundchen allegedly believes put a “target” on Valente’s back.

When Bundchen initially confirmed her relationship with Valente, she was adamant that she had never cheated on her ex-husband, Brady, with her new beau. However, the topic of her infidelity resurfaced at the roast, which also included jokes that “affected” Brady’s children.

The supermodel reportedly felt her past wounds from the split with Brady had been reopened once again, and she had expected her ex-husband to prevent a disrespectful portrayal of their marriage. The insider also shared that Bundchen was hurt when she saw Brady defend his former football team’s owner, Robert Kraft, from a joke at the roast yet remained passive amid jabs aimed at her.

ESPN Wanted to Price NFL Sunday Ticket at $70 and Offer Single-Team Plans, NFL Declined
Image
Reports also indicate Apple told the league it could attract 15 to 20 million customers to Sunday Ticket, which the league saw unfavorably.

The NFL could be in deep trouble with the class-action lawsuit against NFL Sunday Ticket currently being presented to a Los Angeles jury. Many legal experts think that the league is likely to lose the suit, though it could ultimately win on technical grounds during the appeals process. As witnesses like New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and NFL chief media officer Brian Rolapp take the stand, more and more details about Sunday Ticket — and the steps that the NFL has taken to limit its evolution — have become available, and the particulars are unlikely to leave fans happy with the league.

Key Details: ESPN proposed selling single-team plans of Sunday Ticket and pricing the service as low as $70 per season, but the idea was nixed by Rolapp. Apple said...

Ari Emanuel Rips Israeli Leader During Fiery Speech At Wiesenthal Center Gala: “Time For Bibi Netanyahu To Go”
Image
Ari Emanuel tonight left no ambiguity of what he thinks about Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s National Tribute Gala, where he was awarded its Humanitarian Prize, the Endeavor CEO blasted the Israeli prime minister, saying, “The time for Bibi Netanyahu to go has come.”

“This is a painful and crucial moment for all of us who are Jews. It is not a time to stay silent,” Emanuel said to the packed Beverly Wilshire ballroom. Among the high-powered audience at the Beverly Hills hotel on Wednesday were Larry David, Amazon Prime Video boss Jennifer Salke and spouse Bert Salke, Jeffery and Marilyn Katzenberg, powerhouse attorney Patty Glaser and husband Sam, WME co-chairs Christian Muirhead and Richard Weitz, and producer Brian Grazer. As well, a number of Holocaust survivors and those who lived through the fatal terror of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israeli border towns and army bases.

Tom Brady’s Roasters Agreed Not to Joke About Him Kissing His Son on the Lips, Says Nikki Glaser: A ‘Big Chunk’ of Jokes Got Cut, but His ‘Kids Didn’t Ask’ to Get Roasted
Image
Tom Brady’s Netflix roast included jokes about the end of his marriage to Gisele Bündchen, his alleged use of plastic surgery and the Deflategate scandal, but no comedian roasted the NFL icon for once kissing his son on the lips.

A 2018 documentary about Brady went viral that year for footage of Brady kissing his 11-year-old son Jack on the lips. Brady was mocked on social media as a result and the moment sparked a larger debate about parents’ affection for their children, especially because he asked for a second kiss from his son after saying the first one was just a “peck.” To some viewers’ surprise, the topic of Brady kissing his son never came up during the roast.

On a new “Comedy Bang Bang” episode, comedian and acclaimed Brady roaster Nikki Glaser revealed the group all made the collective decision not to crack jokes about Brady kissing his son.

The Misunderstood Box Office Flop That Nearly Ruined Bruce Willis' Career
Image
In 1988, Bruce Willis committed a most grievous offense against entertainment journalists: he proved them wrong. Really wrong. Laughably wrong.

The newly minted star of ABC's "Moonlighting" drew the ire of just about everyone in Hollywood when 20th Century Fox paid him a whopping $5 million to star in the action film "Die Hard." This rankled rival studio executives, who only shelled out that kind of cash for long-established leading men like Warren Beatty and Robert Redford. While Willis might've been a minor media sensation due to "Moonlighting," with his surprise Billboard smash "The Return of Bruno" and his omnipresent Bartles and Jaymes wine cooler commercials, he had yet to prove himself worthy of a $5 million big-screen payday.

Before "Die Hard," Willis had scored a solid theatrical hit with Blake Edwards' dismally unfunny "Blind Date." This was the extent of his motion picture oeuvre when Fox declared him a massive marquee name.

Nikki Glaser calls out Tom Brady for his Netflix roast remarks
Tom Brady
Tom Brady was in the hot seat during his Netflix roast as he absorbed scathing jokes and remarks from comedians and former teammates.

Afterward, the seven-time Super Bowl winner revealed he regretted his decision after getting roasted and said he wouldn’t do it again.

However, one of the event’s most celebrated roasters, Nikki Glaser, has thrown a flag on the field to challenge Brady for his comments.

Glaser followed host Kevin Hart as the show’s first official roaster and hit the mark with multiple jokes she fired off about the retired NFL star.

Additional roasters, including Jeff Ross and Tony Hinchcliffe, also hit Brady, his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, and former teammates with some severe punchlines.

During a recent interview, Glaser spoke about how Brady reacted to his Netflix roast, suggesting she finds it hard to believe he didn’t know what he was getting into.

Tom Brady Expresses Regret Over Netflix Roast Impacting His Children
Image
Tom Brady expresses regret over Netflix roast, focusing on impact on kids. Comedy event aimed at NFL star took a turn with inappropriate joke about CEO. Brady rebukes comedian Jeff Ross for crossing the line, emphasizing respect.

Tom Brady expressed regret over his participation in a recent Netflix roast, citing its unexpected impact on his children as the primary concern. The 3-hour live event featured a series of sharp jokes not only about Brady's NFL career but also his highly publicized divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bndchen in 2022 after thirteen years of marriage.

In an interview with The Pivot Podcast aired last Tuesday, Brady shared that while he enjoyed the humor directed at him, he found it challenging to appreciate those that inadvertently involved his children, saying:

I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didnt like the way they affected my kids.

Nikki Glaser Reacts to Tom Brady’s Roast Regrets, Says Kim Kardashian Called Experience “Abuse”
Image
After knocking her set out of the park at last week’s roast of Tom Brady, comedian Nikki Glaser has been discussing the controversial live TV event, including new regrets from the former New England Patriots quarterback to the live ribbing marathon, and how she received a note from Kim Kardashian calling the experience a form of “abuse.”

Following the May 6 roast of The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, Brady said on The Pivot Podcast that he enjoyed when comedians took humorous jabs about nearly all aspects of his life but that he didn’t care for the jabs aimed at his family, adding that the comments impacted his children, “the people [he] care[s] about most in the world.”

“I feel like maybe he didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how it would affect them, and I do understand that,” Glaser said on Wednesday’s Today with Hoda and Jenna.

Tom Brady Has One Regret About His Netflix Roast (It’s Not the Massage Joke)
Image
Tom Brady enjoyed being the focus of a three-hour, star-studded Netflix roast… just don’t ask him to do another one.

In a new interview after the special streamed earlier this month, Brady told the Pivot Podcast that while he personally didn’t mind being the fodder of most of the jokes — ranging from the Deflategate and Spygate controversies to Aaron Hernandez and his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen — he didn’t foresee the impact it would have on his family, specifically his kids.

Tom Brady Regrets Netflix Roast & Wouldn’t Do It Again: “I Didn’t Like The Way It Affected My Kids”
Image
After being the subject of Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time, Tom Brady is having some regrets as he said it affected his kids.

In a new interview, the NFL star reflected on the roast with comedians like Kevin Hart, Nikki Glaser, and Jeff Ross taking jabs at him.

“I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun,” Brady said on The Pivot Podcast. “I didn’t like the way that it affected my kids, so it’s the hardest part about like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”

After the show, Glaser revealed that everyone agreed that jokes about Brady’s kids were off-limits.

Tom Brady Roast Comic Says Robert Kraft Massage Jokes Were Off-Limits
Image
Since Tom Brady’s Netflix roast, viewers have speculated about how much the NFL star truly was upset over Jeff Ross’ joke that alluded to Patriots owner Robert Kraft being charged with soliciting prostitution after an investigation into massage parlors in Florida.

Now, comedian Andrew Schulz, who participated in the roast, is saying that he believes that uncomfortable moment “was 100 percent real.”

“The reason why I think it’s real is because they told us no jokes about happy endings with Bob Kraft,” Schulz said on his Flagrant podcast.

Schulz explained that he had a joke about former Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss receiving a “happy ending” from Kraft. “They were like, ‘Tom asked us not to do anything with the massage shit,'” the comedian recalled. “I was like, ‘All right, cool. The guy’s coming here for this thing. He’s not getting roasted.'”

Tom Brady Roast Participants Were Told Not To Joke About Robert Kraft’s Massage Scandal, Says Comedian Andrew Schulz
Image
Turns out Jeff Ross likely knew there might be friction if he told that Robert Kraft joke during Netflix’s live The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.

Comedian Andrew Schulz, who also participated in the event, says they were all warned away from the subject of the 2019 incident where the Patriots owner was accused of soliciting prostitution at a massage parlor in Florida.

“When Tom checked Jeff Ross, I think that was 100 percent real,” offered Schulz in a new interview. “The reason why I think it’s real is because they told us, ‘No jokes about happy endings with Bob Kraft.’ “

Ross, it seems, went for it anyway.

“So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft’s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made.

Tom Brady Roaster Says ‘They Told Us No Jokes About Happy Endings’ and Robert Kraft, Then Jeff Ross Didn’t Listen: Brady’s Anger Was ‘100% Real’
Image
Comedian Andrew Schulz revealed on the “Flagrant” interview series that he was instructed not to make jokes at Netflix’s Tom Brady roast related to Robert Kraft’s 2019 arrest for soliciting prostitution in a Florida massage parlor. Charges against Kraft were dropped the following year. When Kraft’s attendance was confirmed at the event, roasters were allegedly told not to make jokes about “happy endings” in relation to the Patriots owners.

“When Tom checked Jeff Ross, I think that was 100% real,” Schulz said. “The reason why I think it’s real is because they told us no jokes about happy endings with Bob Kraft. I had a Bob Kraft [joke] … Tom asked us not to do anything with the massage shit.”

Tom Brady Roast: Netflix Comedy Exec on Removing Kardashian Boos and What’s Next
Image
Robbie Praw is exhausted but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

The vice president of stand-up and comedy formats at Netflix is riding high after the Roast of Tom Brady, a live special that was two years in the making that he considers a huge success.

The three-hour live special, which landed right in the middle of the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival, notched more than 2 million viewers and generated heaps of press coverage (including many stories on this very website). Praw sees landing Brady for the roast as a great example that, in the wake of the special’s success, opens the door for pretty much anyone to take the hot seat going forward.

Despite the overwhelming success of the Brady roast, Praw — the former Just for Laughs programmer who has been with Netflix since 2016 — isn’t ready to talk about plans to run the same play again.

Tom Brady Takes Issue With Jeff Ross’ Joke About Robert Kraft During Netflix Roast: “Don’t Say That S*** Again”
Image
Tom Brady took the jokes in stride at his roast — well, most of them.

Amid jabs about Gisele Bündchen, deflategate and his good looks Sunday night, Brady bristled at one in particular, aimed at the Patriots’ 82-year-old owner, Robert Kraft.

During his turn onstage, Jeff Ross quipped: “So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft‘s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made. Would you like a massage?’”

Brady then approached Ross, who’d blown a kiss Kraft’s way, and said in his ear: “Don’t say that shit again.” Ross replied, “Ok, Ok. He’s having fun, look at him. I love what you do for the Jews, Robert Kraft. You’re incredible.”

The joke was a reference to a 2019 incident...

‘The Dynasty’: How the Apple TV+ Documentary Chronicled the New England Patriots’ Legacy After Their Championship Run
Image
NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber Leo Tolstoy once wrote, “All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” That’s an apt summation of the New England Patriots during their championship run in the first two decades of this century. There were six Super Bowl wins, but everyone — particularly quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick — seemed to be on an endless deployment aboard the Hms Misery. Proud of their accomplishments? Absolutely. Enjoyed the ride? Not so much. Eventually, Brady jumped ship for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Apple TV+’s docuseries “Dynasty” has devoted 10 episodes to the Patriots of quarterback Tom Brady, coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft. The series is a fascinating if overlong examination — an episode on temporary Qb Matt Cassel feels like a preseason telecast — of the formidable business question: If an organization is questing for eternal excellence, does that mean...

Super Bowl Will Feature Antisemitism Commercial From Robert Kraft-Backed Advocacy Group
Image
The Super Bowl ad roster is usually filled with commercials for beer, candy and snacks. There will also be at least one focused on something more serious.

The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, an advocacy group backed by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, will run a 30-second spot during CBS’ February 11 broadcast of Super Bowl Lviii, ensuring that a serious note will sound amid many silly ones.

Kraft’s group launched its efforts in 2023, committing at least $200 million to fight hatred against Jews in the U.S. The group says 3,291 antisemitic incidents were reported in the U.S. in the last three months alone, marking an increase of almost 400%. The commercial will call upon viewers of all backgrounds to stand up against prejudice and hate against Jews.

“With the horrific rise in Jewish hate and all hate across our nation, we must stand up and take urgent

action now,” said Kraft,...

What's at Stake in NFL Sunday Ticket $6 Billion Class-Action Lawsuit?
Image
The case now has a trial date, and if the plaintiffs are successful in the case it could lead to huge changes in how audiences watch NFL games.

Lawsuits are nothing new for the NFL. An entity as huge and worth as much money as the NFL is bound to attract attention, and to be sure it has earned legal scrutiny at times. The league has been facing a class-action lawsuit for the past nine years regarding its pricing and distribution of games on NFL Sunday Ticket, and depending on the outcome of the suit the NFL broadcasting landscape could undergo huge changes in the next few years.

The suit, representing more than 2 million individuals, as well as nearly 50,000 bars and restaurants is headed to trial on Feb. 22. NFL figures like Roger Goodell, Robert Kraft, and Jerry Jones are being called to testify. If plaintiffs are successful, NFL teams could...

Bill Belichick Leaves Patriots After 24 Years & Six NFL Titles As Head Coach
Image
One of the most successful coaches in American pro sports history is parting ways with the team he led to a half-dozen championships. Bill Belichick said during a news conference today that he is leaving the New England Patriots after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl wins in nine appearances.

“It’s with so many fond memories and thoughts that I think about the Patriots, and I’ll always be a Patriot,” he said at the presser. “I look forward to coming back here, but at this time, we’re gonna move on. And I’m excited for the future.”

ESPN reported that a deal with team owner Robert Kraft allowed Belichick to exit with a year remaining on his contract. Coming off a 4-13 season, its second consecutive losing record, the franchise now begins its first hunt for a head coach since the Clinton administration.

Tense Bill Belichick, Tom Brady Relationship Dominates ‘The Dynasty: New England Patriots’ Trailer
Image
A dominant sports dynasty descends into a tense relationship between NFL coach Bill Belichick, star quarterback Tom Brady and team owner Robert Kraft in the trailer for Apple TV+’s The Dynasty: New England Patriots, which dropped on Tuesday.

The 10-part series from Imagine Documentaries is based on a best-selling book by Jeff Benedict and chronicles the rise and historic 20-year run of the Patriots during the celebrated Brady-Belichick-Kraft era. But the docu-series directed by Matthew Hamachek also exposes an apparent tense undercurrent surrounding the team.

“There’s things that were done that can’t be undone,” Brady says in an interview during one point in the trailer against game footage of Belichick tossing a water bottle in anger on the sidelines.

Benedict spent two years with the Patriots while writing his book, which was published in 2020. The filmmakers behind the Apple TV+ series also had access to the team during the 2021 season,...

Prime Video Releases First Look at Donald Glover, Maya Erskine Series ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ (TV News Roundup)
Image
Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” has unveiled first look images.

The series is a reimagining of the 2005 film starring Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie as Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith, respectively. In this iteration, Donald Glover (“The Martian”) stars as John Smith, while Maya Erskine (“PEN15”) stars as Jane Smith.

This new version features John and Jane both landing jobs working for an international spy agency where they must pose as spouses Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith. As they navigate a new mission each week, they find themselves falling in love with one another, complicating — and compromising — their “strictly business” relationship. Notably, this version features an intentional sham marriage between two strangers, as compared to the 2005 original, in which Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith were married without being aware of each other’s identity as an assassin.

Glover serves as co-creator and executive producer, along with Francesca Sloane...

How a Tom Brady Biopic Series Should Be Developed
Image
In many fans' eyes, Tom Brady is the greatest of all time. There’s no debate about this. Brady is unquestionably the greatest quarterback of all time, given his career accolades. Moreover, Brady is probably the greatest football player in the history of the National Football League. Certainly, Brady’s football achievements place him head and shoulders above anyone else who has ever played the quarterback position. Brady, who retired in early 2023 after an illustrious 23-season NFL career, holds virtually every major individual record for a quarterback.

In addition, Brady has won seven Super Bowl titles, six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and played in three additional Super Bowl games, each of which ended, to varying degrees, in heartbreaking fashion for Brady and the Patriots. Indeed, as a recounting of Brady’s unparalleled career achievements inevitably becomes repetitive, the defeats and struggles that Brady has endured,...

Trump Told Mitt Romney’s Son He Would ‘Drop’ Melania In ’95, Senator Says In New Book
Image
Mitt Romney’s new book Romney: A Reckoning, written by McKay Coppins, shares the politician’s blunt assessments of his fellow Republicans.

Romney recounts an interaction he and former president Donald Trump shared at a New England Patriots game. The two were guests of the owner Robert Kraft.

Coppins writes, “Trump sidled up to Romney’s son Josh and pointed at a leggy brunette across the room. ‘Have you seen my girlfriend, Melania?’ he asked, smirking. ‘When I drop her, the phone is gonna ring off the hook. Every guy in New York wants to go out with her.’”

Romney and Trump have a social history since the mid-1990s.

The Washington Post had previously written, “In the 1990s, Romney began cultivating influential people who might become key supporters of a political campaign. Two months after his failed 1994 campaign for the Senate seat held by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Massachusetts...

Image
In a new biography of Sen. Mitt Romney, Romney: A Reckoning by McKay Coppins, the Atlantic staff writer claims that Donald Trump once boasted about his plans to “drop” then-girlfriend Melania during a New England Patriots game at which both Romney and Trump were guests of team owner Robert Kraft.

“Trump sidled up to Romney’s son Josh and pointed at a leggy brunette across the room. ‘Have you seen my girlfriend, Melania?’ he asked, smirking. ‘When I drop her, the phone is gonna ring off the hook. Every guy...

Brady, who is widely considered to be the greatest football player of all time, retired from the sport last season.

Tom Brady Honored as He Returns to the Patriots' Field With All 3 of His Kids
Image
Tom Brady started his first season as a retired football player in perhaps an obvious place - a football game. Tom brought his three kids - Jack, 16, Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10 - with him to the New England Patriots game on Sunday, Sept. 10, where the franchise honored him during halftime. Tom was the team's quarterback from 2000 to 2019, ultimately winning the Super Bowl six times. He eventually left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won a final Super Bowl in 2020 before finally retiring at the end of the last season. All three of Tom's kids - wearing his jersey - smiled alongside his dad as he was honored by the team and its owner, Robert Kraft.

"Nobody 23 years ago would imagine that this journey would bring us here today," Tom said during the ceremony, according to NBC Boston.

"All our lives take us on different journeys. They take us to different places.

Ftx Bankruptcy: Endeavor, Tom Brady Among Investors Caught In Fallout
Image
Fallout from the bankrupt crypto exchange Ftx is impacting Hollywood.

Not only have the tens of millions of dollars Ftx spent on advertising gone up in smoke (don’t expect this year’s Super Bowl to have the crypto enthusiasm that swept last year’s broadcast), but a new bankruptcy filing shows that a bevy of high-profile people and companies are likely to lose millions in the bankruptcy proceedings.

Among those of interest to Hollywood is Endeavor, the owner of UFC and WME, which owned more than 38,000 shares in Ftx through its Img subsidiary, according to a list of Ftx equity holders filed in the bankruptcy proceedings. The shares, which were Series B Preferred shares, suggest that Img invested in Ftx during its 2021 fundraising round which valued the company at 18 billion.

It is not immediately clear how much Img invested in Ftx (the company was not mentioned in the Series B funding round press release,...

The NFL Went To War With Oliver Stone Over The Script For Any Given Sunday
Image
When a topic gets the Oliver Stone treatment, it typically means that it's a controversial subject getting a cinematic deep dive into its origins. He's seemingly left no stone unturned, exploring topics like 1980s greed ("Wall Street"), the Vietnam War ("Born on the Fourth of July" and "Platoon"), the Kennedy assassination ("JFK"), and illegal surveillance ("Snowden").

For two decades, the director had professional football on his radar, dating back to an early 1980s project titled "The Linebacker," which would have starred Charles Bronson. In 1999, Stone's vision of the NFL finally came to fruition with "Any Given Sunday." By then, the game had changed exponentially from the time Charles Bronson was an A-lister in Hollywood. Player side hustles were replaced by multi-million-dollar advertising deals. The allure of "Monday Night Football" was supplanted by around-the-clock coverage on cable and SportsCenter highlights almost on the hour. What did that exposure mean for the modern athlete?...

Antonio Brown Trolls Tom Brady With Photoshopped Images Amid His Former Teammate’s Marital Problems With Gisele Bündchen
Image
Antonio Brown has been taking childish hits at his former NFL teammate Tom Brady.

The athlete, who’s been out of the NFL since he infamously removed his uniform mid-game and exited the field back in January, has taken to social media in recent weeks to share doctored photos of himself and Brady.

Brown’s immature attacks have risen amid Brady’s reported marital problems with wife, Gisele Bündchen. According to the New York Post , Brady recently hired high-profile divorce attorney Tom Sasser.

On Sunday, Brown shared two photoshopped images related to his former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots teammate. In the first photo, Brown is seen smiling as his face is superimposed onto Brady’s body while he was embraced by Bündchen back when he still played for the Patriots.

The second edited image derived from Brown’s mid-game departure from the Buccaneers, however his face was swapped with Brady’s.
