Exclusive: Warner Bros. Pictures EVP Worldwide Digital Marketing Andrew Hotz is returning to Google as their new Director, Platforms, Deadline has learned.

At the Burbank, CA studio, Hotz oversaw Warner Bros. and New Line’s domestic and international digital teams. He also worked with marketing executives on the design and deployment of digital campaigns for the studios’ feature slate. He joined Warners in August 2017.

Google’s core business has three pillars: search, video and platforms. Google’s marketing technology platforms serve as the foundation for advertisers’ media buying, creative development, analytics and measurement. Hotz will be leading the department that sets the go-to-market strategy for Google’s marketing technology. The network has ordered three more episodes of the Jason Ritter-led spiritual drama Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, according to our sister site Variety, taking its Season 1 total to 15 episodes. Ritter stars as an aimless slacker who’s given a divine mission to find righteous souls around the world; Kimberly Hebert Gregory co-stars as his celestial guide Yvette, with JoAnna Garcia Swisher playing Kevin’s sister Amy.

Tonight, the new series The Mayor, from executive producer and Tony winner Daveed Diggs Hamilton, premieres on ABC at 930 pmET. The series stars Glee alum Lea Michele Spring Awakening as Valentina Barella, who was originally the campaign manager for the losing mayoral candidate, Ed Gunt David Spade, but who changes sides and offers to join rapper-turned politician Courtney Rose as his chief of staff when she realizes he truly wants to make a difference in his community.

“Veep” is the best comedy on television, as attested by the 2017 Emmys and confirmed by IndieWire’s substantial critical authority, and its quickly approaching series finale will mark a great loss to television. The way in which David Mandel and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ sword-swinging satirical attack on our corrupt national leaders stabs and skewers every last power-hungry politician is a service of the utmost importance when anger is running high.

The Mayor is a fresh new addition to ABC's comedy line up with a solid cast. Brandon Micheal Hall will soon become Hollywood's rising star. He portrays Courtney Rose with such charisma that it is hard not to like him, even when some of his actions make you cringe. Brown plays his sweet mother and finds the balance between comedy and sincerity quite nicely. As his friends Jermaine and Tk, David and Spears have a hilarious rapport. They will be the ones that make you laugh out loud with their banter.

Lea Michele is kicking off production on her new ABC comedy series The Mayor, and the former Scream Queens star is excited to be working on a TV project yet again.

ABC has picked up four new series from its sister ABC Studios, including a new drama from Shonda Rhimes’ company, a drama about saving the world (starring Jason Ritter), a series about refugees… from America, and comedy that sounds like it might take a few cues from the recently installed White House inhabitant.

In “The Mayor,” Brandon Micheal Hall plays an aspiring young rapper, Courtney Rose, who decides – as a publicity stunt – to run for mayor. He did it solely to generate buzz and become rich and famous. Instead, he is actually elected mayor, an outcome he never predicted. Now he must lean on his mother (Yvette Nicole Brown) and friends, including Valentina (Lea Michele) to become the mayor he didn’t think he wanted to be.

With Hester out hunting tourists on Scream Queens, it's apparently time for Lea Michele to take on a new role.  According to Deadline, Michele has been cast in a new untitled pilot for ABC about a hip hop artist named Courtney Rose (Brandon Michael Hall) who runs for mayor to promote his mixtape, and somehow wins.  There are no details on Michele's role yet, which is reportedly because the part is being tailored to her, but she was originally cast as Courtney's chief of staff.  The pilot is being co-produced by Daveed Diggs, who was part of the original cast of Hamilton on Broadway.
