Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Company announced today the Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD release of The Master, the innovative film that has won over audiences and critics alike. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood), the 1950s-set drama centers on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as "The Master" (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Moneyball) who creates a belief system which catches on with other lost souls - and a young Ww-ii veteran (Joaquin Phoenix, Gladiator) who becomes his right-hand man. In addition to Hoffman and Phoenix, the film also stars Amy Adams (Doubt) and Laura Dern (Little Fockers). The Master heads to retail on February 26, 2013 for an Srp of $39.99 for the Blu-ray Combo Pack and $29.98 for the DVD.

Haunted by his past, Ww-ii veteran and drifter Freddie Quell crosses paths with a mysterious movement called The Cause, led by Lancaster Dodd aka "The Master" and his wife Peggy.

The Weinstein Company has released a final, extended trailer for The Master, currently playing in theaters nationwide. This four-minute clip takes you deep inside these enigmatic characters, such as the troubled Freddie Quell (Joaquin Phoenix), the title character's wife Peggy Dodd (Amy Adams), and the man himself, Lancaster Dodd, a.k.a. The Master (Philip Seymour Hoffman).

Director Paul Thomas Anderson's latest took in a massive $736,311 from just five theaters, for an incredible $147,262 per-screen average. The Weinstein Company has released a new international poster for Paul Thomas Anderson‘s The Master. The film, which hits theaters beginning September 21st, 2012 follows Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Lancaster Dodd, a charismatic leader who establishes a new religion in the 1950s. Joaquin Phoenix plays one of Dodd’s closest disciples, an alcoholic drifter named Freddie Sutton.

The film also stars Price Carson, Mike Howard, Sarah Shoshana David, Bruce Goodchild, Matt Hering, Dan Anderson, Andrew Koponen. Paul Thomas Anderson also works to pen the screenplay.

A red-band clip has been released for writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson's drama The Master, arriving in theaters next weekend. Joaquin Phoenix stars as Freddie Quell, the right-hand man of the title character (Philip Seymour Hoffman), who was a drifter before he was drawn into The Master's mysterious religious organization. Take a look at this R-rated scene where Freddie takes an ink blot test, and describes, in graphic detail, what exactly he sees. I'll give you a hint, he sees a certain part of a woman's anatomy... over and over again.
