Or maybe dating someone you’d never expect?

Between red carpet moments that feel a little too cozy, behind-the-scenes selfies that practically scream “couple energy,” and the occasional flirty social media interaction, the Buccaneers cast has us playing detective. And honestly, we’re not complaining,...

Image
Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “Yellowjackets,” titled “Full Circle,” streaming now on Paramount+ with Showtime.

After more than 25 years of stewing, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) snaps — again — in the “Yellowjackets” Season 3 finale.

Following a chaotic reunion with her presumed-dead ex, Melissa (Hilary Swank), that ends with Van (Lauren Ambrose) being fatally stabbed, Shauna parts ways with Taissa (Tawny Cypress) and heads home.

But when Shauna arrives at Chez Sadecki, the house is eerily quiet. Sure enough, she discovers that her husband Jeff (Warren Kole) and daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) have packed their things and bolted. Shauna immediately confronts Misty (Christina Ricci), suspecting she may have helped them change their phone numbers, but the bespectacled Yellowjacket denies the accusation.

That’s when the ugly truth sets in: this isn’t Misty’s latest chaotic scheme — Callie and Jeff left all on their own. Though Misty (and...

Shauna had her baby

In the 1996 timeline, Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) went into labor but the baby, a boy, was stillborn. She hallucinated that he was born alive and then eaten by her teammates, but, as Christina Ricci promised viewers, no one actually ate Shauna’s baby.

Eric McCormack Battles Unseen Killer in ‘Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue’ Trailer
Image
Eric McCormack must find an unseen killer from among nine plane crash survivors in the Mexican jungle as, one by one, they face getting killed off in the official trailer for MGM+’s Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue.

“Let’s all assume the worst of each other, because that’s helpful,” McCormack’s character, Kevin, says sarcastically at one point in the trailer as he and his fellow passengers realize someone wants them all dead.

The MGM+ mystery series, to debut March 2, uses Agatha Christie’s Ten Little Indians trope where 10 strangers gather and start getting killed one by one by a killer who is assumed to be among them.

As the storyline for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue unfolds in flashbacks, the plane crash survivors race to solve the deadly mystery before they, too, fall victim to the unseen killer. And Mexican soldiers who discovered the plane...

You Should Be Suspicious Of Shanks In One Piece Season 2 After Shocking New Reveal
Image
A new manga reveal concerning Red-Haired Shanks will have major ramifications for One Piece season 2 after casting suspicion over Luffy's pirate mentor. Played by Peter Gadiot, Shanks debuted in One Piece's live-action adaptation in much the same way as Eiichiro Oda's original manga series. Shanks' ship temporarily docked at Windmill Village, Shanks befriended the local pirate wannabe known as Monkey D. Luffy, then Shanks follows Luffy's piracy career with great interest after the youngster sets off on his own voyage some years later.

At this early juncture, Shanks' portrayal is nothing but positive - a powerful but kind, somewhat careless, pirate with a strong moral compass, and a great role model for Luffy as a captain. Nevertheless, Shanks has a lot to answer for. It was because of the Red Hair Pirates that Luffy accidentally ate the Gum Gum devil fruit left lying around by the crew.

‘Yellowjackets’ Cast Hosts “Funeral Parties” for Character Deaths: “It’s Often Really Heartbreaking”
Image
Yellowjackets writer Ashley Lyle revealed Sunday that the cast of the Showtime series often host “funeral parties” for each other when characters die.

“Killing off a character means nothing but good story,” Lyle said during an appearance at this weekend’s Vulture Fest. “It’s often really heartbreaking.”

Yellowjackets, which first premiered in 2021 and follows two parallel storylines of teenagers and their adult counterparts, has harbored its fair share of gruesome and emotional character deaths. Two seasons in, Travis (Andres Soto), Adam Martin (Peter Gadiot), Laura Lee (Jane Widdop), Jessica Roberts (Rekha Sharma), Jackie (Ella Purnell), Crystal (Nuha Jes Izman), Javi (Luciano Leroux), Kevyn Tan (Charlie Wright) and Natalie (Juliette Lewis) have all bid their final adieu.

“I think it’s really lovely that the actors have started having funeral parties for each other,” Lyle continued. “I’ve attended several. It’s very sweet. They’re very closely knit, particularly our younger cast.

Queen of the South Producer Explains Teresa's Fate in the Finale
Image
This article contains spoilers for the USA Network show Queen of the South.

Queen of the South ended back in June 2021, but the beloved series had critical questions surrounding its finale, and we finally have some key insights into the why and how of it all courtesy of producer Dailyn Rodriguez (who is currently a producer and co-showrunner of Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer). Unlike many other crime shows, the antihero does not die at the end of Queen of the South, with Teresa (played by Alice Braga) getting a different fate. The ending was not easy, according to Rodriguez: "We really had to figure out a way to make that work." In the end (literally) it would take an in-depth understanding of audiences, the character, the relationship between both, and the history of similar characters across movies and television. Rodriguez said:

I felt very strongly, and so did the writers on the show,...

Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue | BBC acquires Anthony Horowitz drama
Anthony Horowitz
Prolific author Anthony Horowitz has scripted mystery drama Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue, here are the details.

Anthony Horowitz is perhaps best known for creating the Alex Rider franchise, which so far comprises fourteen novels, seven short stories, a critically maligned 2006 film and a popular television drama on Amazon Prime, the third and final series of which aired last month. He has also written many standalone novels and the terrific Horowitz Horror books of horror stories for older children.

However, he is just as prolific writing for the screen, creating the brilliant time travel drama Crime Traveller, which starred Michael French and Red Dwarf star Chloe Annett, ITV drama Foyle’s War and the television adaptation of his novel Magpie Murders.

His latest series is Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue, which has been acquired by the BBC. The synopsis reads as follows:

A plane carrying a small group of passengers,...

Quantum Leap: Why the Cancelled Sci-Fi Series Isn't Moving to Peacock Like Law & Order: Organized Crime
Last month, NBC cancelled Quantum Leap after two seasons, and many are wondering why the series was not moved over to Peacock, like Law & Order: Organized Crime. The procedural drama is moving to the streaming service for its fifth season instead of remaining on NBC.

Raymond Lee, Caitlin Bassett, Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, Eliza Taylor, and Peter Gadiot starred in the Quantum Leap series, which follows Ben Song (Lee) as he relaunches the Quantum Leap project and finds himself traveling through time much like his predecessor Sam Beckett did in the original series.

NBC Exec Explains Why Quantum Leap Didn't Move to Peacock
Image
Quantum Leap, a revival of the original sci-fi series of the same name, was axed at NBC after two seasons. While other NBC shows may find new life by switching to streaming, that wasn't an option for the new Quantum Leap.

Per TVLine, the cancelation of Quantum Leap was discussed by Jeff Bader, the President of Program Planning Strategy at NBCUniversal Entertainment. It was mentioned how Law & Order: Organized Crime is moving to Peacock for its upcoming fifth season while Quantum Leap will conversely stay canceled. Bader said that this comes down to the numbers, as Organized Crime had been performing much better than Quantum Leap, justifying the streaming switch with the former.

Image
During the Paris Fan Festival, Taz Skylar, the actor cast to portray Sanji in Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action series, opened up about the initial wave of negative comments he faced on social media following the casting announcement.

During the festival’s Q/A session, Taz recounted his very first exposure to criticism and it was around the time when the One Piece casting news came out. He revealed that his friends informed him that his name was trending on Twitter alongside references to his resemblance to rapper Eminem.

“The best way to get me to do something is tell me I can’t do it,” Skylar stated, revealing that rather than being deterred by the negative feedback, he found motivation in the challenge. “I remember I laughed because I was like, you know what, they have a point. I do kind of look a little bit like Em,” he added.

‘Quantum Leap’ Stars on [Spoiler]’s Resignation & That Breakup

Gideon is none too pleased with Ian (Mason Alexander Park) for using the quantum chip he made for them that helped them find Ben (Raymond Lee)—he was missing for three years, though no time passed for the leaper—without his knowledge and refusing to give it back. Someone has to go, and since Ian is the best shot at finding Ben, it can’t be them. Tom (Peter Gadiot), as the Department of Defense representative, tells Magic (Ernie Hudson) he has to fire Jenn (Nanrisa Lee). Quantum Leap: When Can a Leaper Change Fate?
Image
This article contains spoilers for Quantum Leap season 2 episode 11 “The Outsider.”

Fate. The main narrative thrust of the original and new Quantum Leap is changing fate. To put right what once went wrong. That doesn’t mean that Leapers like Sam (Scott Bakula) and Ben (Raymond Lee) can just change anything they want however. When Leapers are given their missions they’re often small, helping individual lives instead of making changes on a global scale. Why? Why can’t a Leaper, who’s supposed to make the world better, change bigger parts of the fate of history?

Season 2 episode 11 of the new Quantum Leap, “The Outsider” brings this question to the forefront. In the two previous episodes, Ben had learned current love interest Hannah’s husband was going to die of heart disease. In a full Back to the Future moment, Ben writes a letter to Hannah before that happens so she can prevent it.
