June 28th Blu-ray & DVD Releases Include Return Of The Killer Tomatoes
June is ending on a quiet note for horror and sci-fi home entertainment releases, as we only have six titles coming our way on June 28th.

Blue Underground has shown some love to two cult classics with their Blu-ray double feature of Circus of Fear and Five Golden Dragons, and Arrow Video is resurrecting another cult classic (albeit one that is a bit more recent) with their Return of the Killer Tomatoes Special Edition Blu-ray.

Other notable titles being released this Tuesday include Alien Strain, Shark Exorcist, Forgotten Tales, and Hotel Inferno.

Alien Strain (Mti Home Video, DVD)

After his girlfriend vanishes without a trace on a camping trip, he quickly goes from witness to suspect. Now, a year later, she returns to the very spot from which she was taken, but not like she was before.

Circus of Fear/Five Golden Dragons Double Feature (Blue Underground, Blu-ray)

Interview with Filmmaker Reyna Young
By Jonathan Weichsel

MoreHorror.com

I recently got to ask Filmmaker Reyna Young a few questions about her new film Forgotten Tales. You can read our conversation below.

Jw- What made you decide to make a horror anthology film as opposed to a narrative feature?

Ry- I've always had an anthology film in the back of my mind and wanted to make it a reality. I wrote my first comic issue of Forgotten Tales, Audition, years ago for Scattered Comics in Sacramento, and I will have a comic coming out based on the film and cannot wait for that. But I've always loved Creepshow and wanted to do my own anthology.

Jw- In Forgotten Tales there is a ghost story, a home invasion story, and a stalker story. Do you like to watch all different kinds of horror? What are some of your favorite kinds of horror to watch? What...

'Bloody Breasts' - Maude Michaud's horror documentary web series arrives!
What began as a feature-length documentary two years ago has now evolved into a webseries about women and horror films directed by Montreal filmmaker Maude Michaud, debuting April 3rd, 2011.

When we first reported on the making of Bloody Breasts, interviews were still being conducted. Now, Michaud has changed the way we'll experience her exploration of the intersection of gender and horror films.

The first episode is titled “Women love horror?” and features interviews with directors and festival owners such as , Devi Snively, Reyna Young, Shannon Lark, Katt Shea, Kier-La Janisse, Denise Gossett, Heidi Martinuzzi and Elisabeth Fies.

A new webisode will be released each month on the official website for free starting tomorrow. We can't wait! Bloody Breasts is bound to be a scholarly, well-made take on a fascinating subject.

Gorezone's Women in Horror Tribute: Just a spoonful of sugar helps the feminism go down
Women in Horror Month creator Hannah Nuerotica and Fgt editor Heidi get down and dirty about the new GoreZone Women in Horror Month Tribute Video in a no-holds-barred bikini-wrestling match of emotions.

Hannah: On January 8, 2011 Uk MagazineGoreZonelaunched a video called “Women in Horror” (in honor of February being Women in Horror Month). Despite my legitimate skepticism regarding how a magazine indistinguishable from Maxim on the rack would portray a movement rooted in the feminist ideal of equality, yet I remained open-minded. Maybe we would all be surprised and elated to see some true progress taking place.

Heidi: If you’re an artist, a filmmaker, a director, an editor, an actress who doesn’t happen to look like a model, or basically any woman who doesn’t cater to the sexuality of male horror fans, you may find yourself having a harder time getting your projects seen and heard, or getting jobs doing what you love.
