Mad Max-Esque Post-Apocalyptic Western 'The Last Ronin' Full Trailer
Image
"All I've seen on my journey is a river of blood." Central Partnership has revealed an official trailer for a big post-apocalyptic western thriller called The Last Ronin, a Russian project by filmmaker Maksim Shishkin making his feature directorial debut. The film is premiering soon and will be released in Russia at the end of December. The craziest thing about this is that it's a blatant rip-off of both The Last of Us and Mad Max, combined into one gnarly VFX-heavy action movie that looks pretty terrible. Haunted by the ghosts of the past, lone traveler Ronin wanders the postapocalyptic wastelands in search of his father's killer. Everywhere he goes, he encounters blood-thirsty head hunters and rogue gangs. One day the Ronin meets a wayward teenage girl named Maria (or Mariya) who offers him a precious bounty for escorting her to her birthplace. Starring Yuri Kolokolnikov and Diana Enakaeva,...

Image
Here's another unwanted sequel to a movie no one saw that doesn't look very good... An official trailer has debuted for Major Grom: The Game, a Russian comic book movie from director Oleg Trofim. This is a sequel to the 2021 comic book movie Major Grom: Plague Doctor, a big budget production in Russia about a famous superhero. In this sequel, a year has passed since the defeat of the Plague Doctor, and Igor Grom has become a hero for the whole city. But now he is waiting for a fight with a new supervillain. His perfect police life in St. Petersburg is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious villain calling himself Ghost (or "The Phantom"). He asks him to play a dangerous game, the stakes being the lives of ordinary people. Well, that doesn't sound very fun! This stars Tikhon Zhiznevskiy as Grom, plus Alexander Seteykin, Lyubov Aksyonova, Aleksey Maklakov,...

Major Grom: The Game trailer pits the heroic Igor Grom against a new supervillain – Exclusive
Image
For 50 issues, lasting from 2012 to 2016, the Bubble Comics comic book series Major Grom, which was created by Artyom Gabrelyanov and Evgeny Fedotov, told readers stories about Igor Grom, a police major in the city of Saint Petersburg, who is – according to Wikipedia – “known for his uncompromising attitude to crime, his honesty and integrity, as well as his detective abilities and hand-to-hand combat skills.” Soon after the comic book finished its 50 issue run, a 29 minute Major Grom short was released into the world, and that paved the way for the production of a Major Grom feature film, Major Grom: Plague Doctor, which was released in 2021 and was “a loose adaptation of the first story arc of the comic series, telling the story of the confrontation between police major Igor Grom and the vigilante murderer known as Plague Doctor.” The sequel Major Grom: The Game is set to be released on May 23rd,...

Epic Trailer for Russian Comic Book Movie 'Major Grom: Plague Doctor'
Lyubov Aksyonova in Russkiy Bes (2018)
"I've never seen anything like that." Whoaaa! A trailer has debuted for a badass action movie from Russia titled Major Grom: Plague Doctor, which is based on a bestselling comic book series from Russia. This is another one of these movies that very coincidentally is now even more relevant with the Plague Mask, which the main anti-hero antagonist character wears, because it has been referenced often during this year's coronavirus pandemic. Police Major Igor Grom is known throughout St. Petersburg for his "penetrative character and irreconcilable attitude" towards criminals of all stripes. But everything changes dramatically with the sudden appearance of a person with the Plague Doctor mask, who violently takes out high society people who have escaped justice because of their wealth and status. This guy exclaims that the city is "sick with the plague of lawlessness." (I kind of like this character...!) The cast includes Tikhon Zhiznevskiy as Grom,...
