Shin Yamaguchi
Shin Yamaguchi began his career in Japan's visual media industry as a production manager before moving to Los Angeles in 1999 to pursue his passion for filmmaking at the heart of the global industry. Over the next three years, he immersed himself in a wide range of productions, gaining hands-on experience and cultivating a strong international perspective.

After returning to Japan in 2002, he began working in earnest as a Unit Production Manager, participating in numerous international film projects including Gaspar Noé's provocative "Enter the Void". Through these experiences, he refined his skills in global production and creative leadership. In 2005, he founded his own production company, Knockonwood Inc., in Tokyo. For the past two decades, he has remained committed to creating films rooted in original screenplays and driven by cross-border collaboration. His notable producing credits include "Ramen The" directed by Eric Khoo, "Spirit World" starring Catherine Deneuve, and "37 Seconds" directed by Hikari, which won both the Panorama Audience Award and the Cicae Art Cinema Award at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.

His current slate includes "Rental Family", the second feature from director Hikari starring Brendan Fraser (produced by Searchlight Pictures); "Mabui", a feature in development with director Takeshi Fukunaga-who directed episodes of Shogun and Tokyo Vice-selected as an In-Development project at HAF (Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum) in this year; and "Love on Trial", the latest film by Koji Fukada, officially invited to the Cannes Première section of the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

With a deep respect for storytelling and a drive to transcend genre and borders, Shin Yamaguchi continues to create films that resonate with emotional truth and cultural integrity.
