Behind the scenes sneak-peek at ‘Zombie Women of Satan 2′
A sequel to 2009′s original (which it seems I was the only fan of), Zombie Women of Satan 2 sees Pervo the Clown back another adventure with more blood, more guns and more zombie women! Writer, director and star of Zombie Women of Satan, Warren Speed, is back once again – this time teaming with Chris Greenwood who directs this boob-filled horror extravaganza and also shares the writing and producing duties.

We brought you the teaser poster for Zombie Women of Satan 2, which Speed and co. say is much grander in scope than the first film but with a tenth of the budget, way back in June of last year; however now we have a quick behind the scenes sneak-peek video from the set of Zombie Women of Satan 2 to share with you:...

Hilary Swank's "Resident" Evil, the Second Flight of "Black Swan," and More New DVDs
"The Resident" (2011)

Directed by Antti Jokinen

Released by Image Entertainment

This actually isn't the first time Hilary Swank has seen one of her films go direct to DVD after the films "Red Dust" and "Birds of America" suffered the same fate, but surely there was more riding on this horror film from the resurgent Hammer Films about a recently separated doctor who learns her Brooklyn loft isn't quite as wonderful as she thought it would be. "Secretary" screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson co-wrote this film, which co-stars Christopher Lee, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Lee Pace.

"The Mikado" (1939)

Directed by Victor Schertzinger

Released by Criterion Collection

"Topsy-Turvy" (1999)

Directed by Mike Leigh

Released by Criterion Collection

Sold separately, Criterion is making no secret of trying to appeal to Gilbert and Sullivan fanatics with special editions of "The Mikado," a straight-up adaptation of the musical duo's most famous opera, and Mike Leigh's "Topsy-Turvy,...

Miss Zombie Queen UK 2010 crowned!
Miss Zombie Queen UK 2010 was announced this past Wednesday evening as Von, a self-described “metal-loving, living dead girl” from East London. Dancing her way to victory with stage blood during the speciality round of the event sent both judges and the crowd wild to walk away with the inaugural Miss Zombie Queen UK beauty pageant title as well as cash and voucher prizes and the chance to appear in Warren Speed’s sequel to Zombie Women of Satan, released on DVD June 21st by Revolver Entertainment.

Winner Von, in the speciality round, performed a Zombie school girl strip with a bottle of fake blood to the sound of Rob Zombies ‘Living Dead Girl’ . The two runners-up were Misty Moores (an “undercover agent and all round swell gal” who likes “likes swinging, jiving, ducking and diving,”) and Collette Von Tora who described herself as a “Zombie freak extraordinaire who has been...

Zombie Women of Satan Killing It in Pre-Sales
Zombie Women of Satan made a splash at Cannes this year, and is killing it on Amazon in pre-sales. In the UK, anyway.

Zombie Women of Satan made a splash at Cannes this year, and is killing it on Amazon in pre-sales. In the UK, anyway.

According to British trash rag newspaper The Sun, Zombie Women of Satan is about "a group of nightclub performers – including Pervo the clown, a flatulent dwarf and a feisty rock chick – who have to fend off a marauding gang of zombie women at a remote farm." Fair enough.

Newcomer director Warren Speed sunk his life savings into the movie (74,000 pounds which is like, what? 30 million U.S. dollars?), which is starting to pay off now that the movie is number 1 in pre-sales orders. The DVD comes out on June 21 (in the UK).

Speed credits the casts' tour of Cannes for the movie's sales success.

DVD News: Zombie Women of Satan (UK/R2)
Fresh from invading Cannes, Revolver Entertainment have announced the UK DVD release of Zombie Women of Satan on June 21st 2010. Check out the cover art (oh and yes, that is our quote – Epic!):

Brought to you by the twisted mind of Warren Speed (aka Pervo the Clown), the film combines everything you would want in a classic B Movie picture with plenty of semi-clad zombie girls, belly laughs galore and bucket loads of blood and guts.

When a group of nightclub performers – including Pervo the Clown (Warren Speed), Zeus (Peter Bonner), a flatulent dwarf, and Skye (Victoria Hopkins), a feisty rock chick – arrive on a remote farm for a cable TV interview, they soon discover the dark secret of the sinister family who live there – they have been kidnapping and torturing gorgeous young women as part of a perverted cult. Zombies Take Over Cannes
Ever since Colin made a splash at last year's Cannes Film Festival, zombie movies are a legitimate part of the yearly festival, though none are "in competition."

Mark McQueen's upcoming infected zombie film Devil's Playground enjoyed two Market screenings at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Fellow British zombie entry Zombie Women of Satan was also there, searching for international distribution. The zombie comedy will hit UK DVD in June. For evidence, see a brief French interview with the Zombie Women below, whose assets were well-documented by the cameraman.

The Guardian also spoke with a Zombie Women representative, which can be seen here. And, not to be outdone by The Guardian, British birdcage liner The Sun also interviewed actress Loula Cherry and writer/director/star Warren Speed.

The La Times reported that Zombies of Mass Destruction was also at the Cannes Marketplace, likely also trying to find distribution. The...

Event Report: Film4 Frightfest 2009
So, the August bank holiday has passed for another year and that means one thing – The Film4 Frightfest in London has just finished. This year held a special meaning to the festival though, with it greeting its 10th year in existence having moved, during that time, from humble beginnings in the Prince Charles Cinema, to the grander Odeon Leicester Square and finally, for the first time this year, to the Empire Cinema (also in Leicester Square). The Empire houses the largest cinema screen in the UK, which was used to display the main catalogue of films this year round. Trust me, this thing is absolutely massive.

Second to this, also for the first time ever, Frightfest organisers Alan, Ian, Paul and Greg decided to commandeer a smaller screen to show those movies they felt should be in the Fest, but couldn’t be worked into the main programme. This screen...
