Jase Robertson

10 Times the ‘Duck Dynasty’ Drama Got Real
Image
Unlike stars of other reality shows, the Robertson clan of A&e’s Duck Dynasty — and now Duck Dynasty: The Revival — have owned up to their show being scripted. As The New York Times reported in 2012, Duck Dynasty producers would set up situations for the Robertsons to navigate in their own style. “I think Willie [Robertson] coined it: guided reality,” Jase Robertson told the newspaper at the time. “But all the stuff we say is — I don’t know if I can speak for everybody, but all the stuff I say, I just say what I normally say.” But Duck Dynasty producers could have created a hit reality TV show based on the Robertsons’ real-life drama. Here are 10 headline-making moments from the family’s time as reality stars. 2013: Kay opens up about Phil’s infidelity In a 2013 testimonial video for the religious group I Am Second, Kay Robertson divulged that husband...

Who Is ‘Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson’s Daughter Phyllis? Their Relationship Before His Death & More
Image
Five years before Phil Robertson died, an unexpected addition came into his life. In early 2020, the Duck Dynasty patriarch found out that he had an adult daughter named Phyllis, whom he fathered after an affair in the 1970s. “On November 30, 2019, I learned through DNA testing that the man who raised me was not my biological father,” Phyllis wrote on her blog in 2020. “This set off a chain of events that led me to a new and wonderful family and the most positive outcome one could imagine.” Phyllis first connected with the Robertson family by reaching out to Phil’s sons Jase Robertson and Alan Robertson. A DNA test eventually confirmed that she was a member of the famous family (although she’d never seen their show before). She met Phil for the first time in February 2020, and he publicly introduced her on his podcast three months later. Scroll down to learn more about Phyllis,...

Is Jase Robertson Part of ‘Duck Dynasty: The Revival?’ His Absence Explained
Image
Duck Dynasty: The Revival premiered on Sunday, June 1, and fans were quick to notice that Willie Robertson‘s brothers Jase Robertson and Jep Robertson, who starred on the original show when it ran from 2012 to 2017, were not featured in the episode. In a recent interview with Taste of Country, Sadie Robertson explained the reason behind her uncles’ absence. It simply came down to the family dynamics and who’s currently working at Duck Commander. “My mom [Korie Robertson] actually runs a lot of things up here at Duck Commander,” Sadie said. “I have my all of my podcast and Live Original team work out of Duck Commander. My brother, John Luke, works for my mom’s production company at Duck Commander. My sister [Bella] manages the whole Duck Commander store, so the next generation works here.” A&e That’s why Willie and Korie’s family is at the center of the revival,...

'Duck Dynasty' Isn't in Production, and a Vicious Legal Battle Might Be to Blame
With all the reboots and revivals hitting the airwaves, reality fans are likely wondering, is Duck Dynasty still in production? Might we see the Robertson family on TV anytime soon? The short answer: It doesn't seem so. The long answer: A legal battle might be the reason the A&E show hasn't returned. British media company ITV bought a majority stake of Duck Dynasty production company Gurney Productions for $40 million in 2012, The Telegraph reports, and then fired founders and Duck Dynasty creators Scott and Deirdre Gurney in 2016. In the ensuing court battle, ITV alleged Scott and Deirdre acted with "stunning greed" to fraudulently inflate the profits at their company; and ITV also alleged the couple tried to expense $1.2 million of guns, jewelry, massages, vacations, and parties. Meanwhile, the Gurneys claim ITV wrongfully fired them and tried to bilk them out of a fortune, and they've claimed damages of more than $150 million.

The Duck Dynasty star still supports the Second Amendment; however, he does understand and feel for those in favor of more gun control.

'Duck Dynasty' Stars Phil Robertson And Al Robertson Releasing A Bible
Duck Dynasty stars Phil Robertson and his preacher son Al Robertson are releasing a special bible, The Duck Commander Faith And Family Bible.

Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson Releasing A Bible

The Duck Dynasty patriarch and his family is known for their Christian beliefs, and often preach during speaking engagements when not filming their reality show or running the family business. Last year, Phil Robertson got into trouble for revealing his anti-gay views in GQ, describing it as sinful, and the family supported his comments even after public outcry.

“Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers – they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right,” Phil told the magazine.

The many members of the Robertson family are often seen praying on the show, and many of the cast members have published books that detail their faith.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Recap: Willie & Jase Robertson Throw Down
One thing you never do is criticize another man’s burger. The ‘Duck Dynasty’ bros had mad beef on Feb. 5 and had to settle it the old fashioned way — with a Deep South cook-off!

Because the guys of Duck Dynasty have conquered the world, they only have themselves to turn on now. It started on Feb. 5, when Willie and Jase Robertson took their sibling rivalry up a notch by going all Top Chef and challenging each other to a cook-off. And with the boys doing their best Emeril impressions and Uncle Si becoming Padma Lakshmi, this episode was full of memorable quotes. Here are my favorite ones.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 5 Episode 5: The 5 Best Quotes

“If I had this thing in high school — you talk about doin’ some math!” – Si Robertson

Uncle Si was talking about the benefits of his digital wristwatch of course but Wait – Si went to high school!

‘Duck Dynasty’ Recap: The Robertsons Versus A Smoke Detector
A few things were revealed during the Jan. 29 episode of ‘Duck Dynasty’ that weren’t particularly surprising: that technology and the Robertsons aren’t best friends, and that Phil Robertson tells the scariest ghost stories.

I live in a three-bedroom apartment and I am in a constant battle with my smoke detector, so I could sympathize with the hell Willie and Jase Robertson and the rest of the Duck Commander office were going through in the Jan. 29 episode of Duck Dynasty when a detector derailed their last-minute order. And I wasn’t surprised at all that the man vs. technology showdown yielded some of the best quotes of the season. Let’s relive them below.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 5 Episode 4: The 5 Best Quotes

“What are y’all doing? Why ain’t y’all working?” – Willie Robertson

I imagine Willie says this to his employees every day. But this time he...

‘Duck Dynasty’ Recap: Learn What It’s Like To Be Uncle Si
Uncle Si’s ultimate takeover of ‘Duck Dynasty’ continued on Jan. 22, with the old geezer strapping a camera to his head to give the audience a little point-of-view action. And yes, it was just as ridiculous as it sounds.

Technology has turned on us — no one should ever have to know what it’s like to be in the mind of Duck Dynasty‘s Uncle Si. But the Jan. 22 episode went there when the bespectacled one learned what a GoPro camera was. Elsewhere, Willie Robertson and the kids had a roadside picnic (natch). As we do, let’s count down the best things we heard during all this West Monroe mayhem.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 5 Episode 3: The 5 Best Quotes

“Even if you need to record something on your Vcr, hey, Jep’s the man to call.” – Uncle Si

I’m pretty sure Si was talking about using a DVR — I...
