The creature can only be observed when it possesses the bodies of the people around the Doctor, and it's defeated not by the Doctor's usual genius but by the surprise sacrifice of an unappreciated flight attendant.

Doctor Who stars Ncuti Gatwa and Varada Sethu have addressed the show tackling themes of racism in its latest episode, "Lux." The second episode of season 2 featured The Doctor (Gatwa) and companion Belinda Chandra ( Sethu) traveling to 1950s Miami.

While "Lux" is a largely light-hearted episode pitting The Doctor and his companion against evil cartoon character Mr. Ring-a-Ding, there are moments that address the genuine history of the era that The Doctor and Gatwa found themselves in. In one scene, The Doctor revealed to Belinda that they were breaking the law simply by sitting in a segregated diner because both are people of color.

In the first trailer for the sophomore season of the BBC and Disney+’s latest reboot of the sci-fi franchise, Ncuti Gatwa’s The Doctor is joined by Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), who aptly notes that she’ll go by ‘The Nurse’ in response to her new pal’s introduction.

“There is something already connecting us,” he tells her as we get a glimpse of Belinda in another time and place, where she’s an intergalactic soldier.

This season follows the pair on an epic quest to get Belinda back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling Tardis team must face great dangers, ferocious enemies and wilder terrors than ever before.

The latest trailer for Hulu’s A Thousand Blows boxing drama has The Crown star Erin Doherty as Mary Carr trading barbs outside the ring with feared bare knuckle pugilist Sugar Goodson, played by Peaky Blinders star Stephen Graham, to grow her criminal empire.

“Watch me kill him,” a menacing Goodson, the self-declared emperor of London’s East End boxing world, tells Carr, who introduces herself as Queen of an all-female criminal gang known as the Forty Elephants. “Can’t happen,” she defiantly replies, as Carr looks to exploit the talents of Kirby, a Jamaican boxer played by Hezekiah Moscow, who challenges Goodson for survival, and dominance, in the illegal boxing ring.

Erin Doherty, who broke out playing Princess Anne in the third and fourth seasons of The Crown, has joined the cast of Disney+ series A Thousand Blows.

First announced by The Hollywood Reporter last year, the 12-part series is set in the perilous world of illegal boxing in 1880s Victorian London, and was created and written by Stephen Knight and exec produced by Stephen Graham, who also stars.

HBO has officially renewed the workplace drama Industry just one month after the season two finale aired. Season two of the popular series debuted in August 2022 and sits at 96 fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Mickey Down and Konrad Kay created the series and serve as writers and executive producers. Writer Jami O’Brien, Jane Tranter, David P. Davis, Ryan Rasmussen, and Ben Irving also executive produce.
