Rose Hunt-Person is a classically trained actor in the Stanislavski method of acting, who performed as Ruth Younger in Macon Little Theatre's Production of A Raisin in the Sun and has performed in a number of other theatrical productions and short films. In 2010 she wrote, produced, directed and performed in her own feature length film, Broken, which premiered at the historical Douglas Theatre in downtown Macon Georgia in 2017.
Rose began her acting career at the age of 15 performing original one-act plays for Teen Neighborhood Theatre in Boston Massachusetts that were written and directed by Ted Thomas Jr, an award winning poet, playwright and editor whose work has appeared in numerous literary journals and periodicals.
She also received training as a Theatre Major at Walnut Hill Performing Arts School in Natick Massachusetts under the direction of Bruce Miller (author of such titles as The Scene Study Book, Acting Solo and Actor's Alchemy whose more than 100 articles on acting appear regularly in Dramatics Magazine and Teaching Theatre) as well as with multi-award winning director,Tony Mata (who has directed, choreographed, and performed in over 300 plays, musicals, operas and cabarets in New York, Off-Broadway, and in regional theatre.)
In 2010 Rose made the decision to step away from acting in order to prioritize her family. After being on hiatus for nearly 12 years, it was a random casting call for a feature film in her resident town of Macon Ga regarding an awe-inspiring true story of a small community of church folk who adopted 77 of the hardest to place foster kids, that arrested her heart and catapulted her back into performing.
Rose enjoys being active, out in nature and gardening. She has a special affinity for women's ministry and being of service to others. She treasures her faith and family and looks forward to more acting opportunities in film where her acting can offer inspirational encouragement and foster an awareness for social consciousness issues that affect us all as human beings.
