As you've probably guessed from our recent coverage, we're big fans of Wicked here at Digital Spy.

So when the inevitable plans for a movie adaptation of the hit musical were all-but confirmed earlier this year, we got very, very excited.

But what about the people who live, breathe and work Wicked every day? We caught up with the leading members of the current touring cast to find out their thoughts.

"Originally that was the plan for it before the musical," said Nikki Davis-Jones, who is playing Elphaba around the country.

"It was Stephen Schwartz whose friend read the book and told him about it and said, 'Oh, they're going to make a film of it'.

"He wrote to them and said, 'Hang on, hang on, what about this musical? You can't have inner-monologue, voiceover type things in, so it's better that we have songs'.
