A day after the news broke that he had been tapped by Amazon to write the next James Bond film, “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight has told fans that he can’t wait to get started on the British spy franchise’s latest installment saying it will hopefully be a bolder take on 007.
Knight opened up about his new, high-profile gig in a Friday interview with the BBC’s Radio 5 Live Breakfast. “It has always been on my bucket list and it’s fantastic to be invited to do it,” Knight said. “I can’t wait to get started.” The screenwriter, whose past credits outside of “Peaky Blinders” include 2021’s “Spencer,” 2013’s “Locke” and 2007’s “Eastern Promises,” went on to confirm that he is, indeed, a fan of the Bond franchise.

Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner portrayed a struggling single mother who becomes an expert jewel thief in the critically acclaimed Joan, from Anna Symon. The series premiered on September 29, 2024, with the finale airing on October 14 of that year and was an instant hit, partly thanks to Turner’s beautiful performance. Given the reception, many may have expected an immediate renewal for the show, but that’s unfortunately not the case, as we’ve finally learned the fate of Joan ahead of the lead star's next project.
As confirmed by an ITV spokesperson via Radio Times, Joan won’t be returning for another run, even though "ITV and Snowed-In Productions would love to produce" a second installment. This is due to scheduling issues among the cast, as the rep added, "However, as a consequence of cast availability and following co-production discussions, it has meant a second series wasn't possible." What a bummer indeed,...

Over ten years ago, writers Harry and Jack Williams, famed for their work on the likes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's critically acclaimed Fleabag and later the Jamie Dornan-led The Tourist, brought to the BBC one of the most underrated British crime dramas of the 21st century. Before it turned into the Tchéky Karyo-led spin-off, Baptiste, The Missing was one of the most chilling productions on the Beeb, and even earned itself an enormous 93% from critics and 90% from audiences on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Such was the show's incredible success, many have since called for a return, although the brothers Williams have been keeping themselves far too preoccupied... until, perhaps, now. In an interview with Radio Times, the brothers gave fans their most promising tease yet that a return to the cold world of The Missing could soon be on its way. From the genius of the greatest crime series of all time, The Sopranos, to the epic, swirling tale of Game of Thrones, HBO's catalog of shows boasts some of the best work in television history. However, due to such high standards having been set on the network for over 25 years, many great shows can often fall under the radar. That was the fate met by Run, the 2020 comedy thriller created by Vicky Jones that sadly lasted for just one season, despite an 81% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Well, if you were one of the many who Run simply passed by, perhaps due to a particularly life-altering global event that was happening at the same time it debuted, fear not, as Prime Video now has you covered. "BoJack Horseman," created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, may have talking animals and copious puns, but it's also a dark reflection of addiction and the pursuit of fame. The best "BoJack Horseman" episodes know how to masterfully maneuver between comedy and drama, and the show refuses to give its audience any easy answers. BoJack (Will Arnett) is not a good individual, as his self-destructive tendencies often cause him to push any friends he has away. This often gets juxtaposed with whatever silly adventure his roommate Todd (Aaron Paul) gets into, like joining an improv-based cult.
Fans likely tuned into "BoJack Horseman" expecting some silly cartoons revolving around a satirical Hollywood, but it was so much more than that, becoming one of the most profound shows of the 21st century. The show got six seasons to wrap up its story, but you may still feel a horse-shaped void in your heart. Fortunately, there...

Ante up. Colin Farrell stars in Netflix’s Ballad of a Small Player and we are now given a new look at it. The project was announced last year with its production starting later on. The film comes from Edward Berger, the director of the Academy Award-winning All Quiet on the Western Front. While Berger directs, Rowan Joffe has adapted a script that is based on the novel of the same name by Lawrence Osborne. Mike Goodridge is on board to produce through his Good Chaos banner, as well as Berger through his Nine Hours banner, along with Matthew James Wilkinson. Berger currently has a first-look deal with Netflix, which this movie will be the start of.
The official plot description from Netflix reads,
“Farrell leads Ballad of a Small Player as Lord Doyle, a high-stakes gambler lying low in Macau, China. When his past and his debts start to catch up with him,...

Former President Barack Obama won the presidency twice, but the 22nd Amendment prevented him from going for the hat trick. The same rules don't apply to the Emmy race, where the 42nd commander in chief is closing in on his third individual Primetime Emmy. Obama's name was included among the Best Narrator nominees when nominations were announced on Tuesday for lending his voice to the Netflix docuseries Our Oceans, made in collaboration with Higher Ground, the production company run by the former Potus and his Flotus, Michelle Obama.
Obama is no stranger to this particular category having been nominated — and won — twice before. He received his first Best Narrator statuette in 2022 for narrating the Netflix-Higher Ground collab Our Great National Parks, and repeated the following year for another joint effort, Working: What We Do All Day. He and Michelle also won two Daytime Emmys in 2022 for producing animated children's shows.

Hollywood adores a remake, whether it's a couple of decades old or merely about to scratch that magical 10-year mark, there's always the possibility of revisiting a property in the hopes of some new eyeballs. It rarely works out that way, or at least, as well as the people in charge would hope, but that doesn't stop every channel, studio, or streaming outfit from trying their luck. "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" is a film that's had two different reboot or remake attempts since hitting screens back in 2005, and one of those efforts didn't even make it to air. Jordana Brewster and Martin Henderson tried their best to elevate "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" nearly 20 years ago, but maybe the darker action comedy was still a bit ahead of its time for television. Now, that effort lives on a genuine curiosity that functions more as a Wikipedia-style footnote than anything immediately memorable.

Of all the billion-dollar franchises in cinema history, "James Bond" is second only to "Fast & Furious" in its offerings of vicarious pleasure to motorheads. From very early on in its six-decade run, the "Bond" series has continuously spotlighted dashing high-end cars as an integral part of its hero's gruff-yet-glamorous global spy adventures. And, if you've ever wondered what the most high-end rides in "Bond" history are, we've come to you with an answer.
This list ranks James Bond's 12 most expensive cars in the history of the official Eon franchise, which comprises 25 total films. A few ground rules and guidelines: Only cars driven by Bond himself are included. Only the value of the cars at the time of market introduction is considered, even if those cars were already vintage items by the time they showed up in the film in question — there's even a 1935 car in the mix. Gary Oldman Is Finally Being Knighted Well it’s about time! There is only one question surrounding this honor. And it certainly has nothing to do with the validity of England’s decision. Rather, it is a question of “What Took So Long?!” Oldman has long stood as a symbol- if not, a standard- of artistic excellence, a master of the craft who consistently disappears into his roles. But for whatever reason, recognition always seems to arrive late. Take his Oscar, for example. He won his first- and still only- Academy Award in 2018 for playing Winston Churchill in 'The Darkest Hour.' But then I came across an interview Oldman did with Deadline’s Baz Bamigboye, where Bamigboye joked about Oldman’s longtime California residence, dubbing him “Sir Gary of Palm Springs.” Oldman once shared on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ that, although he was born and raised in southeast London,...

Harrison Ford isn’t going to play Indiana Jones again – but Disney likes the idea of a new reboot, it seems.
Although Harrison Ford might well be done with playing Indiana Jones, that doesn’t mean that we’ve seen the last of the fedora-donning adventurer. According to a new report at DisInsider, Disney is ‘quietly’ developing a reboot of the character which could be announced as early as next year.
Shia Labeouf’s agent must be reading all of this with interest.
Harrison Ford made what he has claimed would be his last appearance as Jones in 2023’s Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny, the fifth film in the series and the first not to be directed by Steven Spielberg. Instead, James Mangold took the reins but couldn’t steer the project towards the kind of box office success that the previous films enjoyed.

Agnes’ (Eva Victor) life is defined by a sense of stagnancy. Four years after completing grad school in rural New England, she’s living in the same house and going to the same building, only now as a professor. Whatever true joy she seems to experience is infrequent visits from her best friend and former roommate Lydie (Naomi Ackie), who has moved on, starting a family in New York City. As Victor assiduously peels back the layers of her sharp, unnerving, witty feature debut Sorry, Baby, the reason for being stuck in time becomes clear: in her final days of grad school she was raped by her advisor, who quickly deserted the town, leaving no culpability and even less sense of justice or closure.

Acclaimed director Danny Boyle has downplayed the likelihood of returning to the James Bond franchise after dropping out of a previous sequel. Boyle was originally supposed to direct Daniel Craig's final outing as 007.
Boyle was Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli's firstt choice to direct the film that became No Time to Die, likely because of the propulsive action in his classic film 28 Days Later and his direction of the the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony (which featured Craig as Bond). Boyle was once again teaming up with screenwriter John Hodge, a frequent collaborator who he'd worked with on his 1994 breakthrough Shallow Grave and legendary dark comedy Trainspotting.
Danny Boyle Addresses His Regret Over His James Bond Departure
The Bond team clearly had high-hopes for the then-untitled movie because they fast-tracked production, but creative differences emerged between Boyle, Hodge and producers before anything was shot.

Amazon looked to have pulled the plug on a Tomb Raider TV series – but the adventures of Lara Croft may now be back on.
It seems that the rumours regarding the demise of Amazon’s Tomb Raider series may have been premature. Back in April, the British tabloids put out a story suggesting that the project was dead – and there was some degree of supporting evidence to lend credence to that story.
Jennifer Salke – the head of Amazon Studios – had been shepherding the project through production and was now out of a job. Puck's Matthew Belloni – a regular Hollywood source – claimed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series’ showrunner, still hadn’t delivered any scripts. There was also plenty of speculation that Amazon was looking to end its pricey production deal with Waller-Bridge, given that up until this point, none of her projects have come to fruition in the way the studio had hoped for.

For more than four decades, the five movies making up the Indiana Jonesfilm franchise have grossed more than $2.3 billion worldwide. The film series started with 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark,which was directed by Steven Spielberg from a script by George Lucas, Philip Kaufman, and Lawrence Kasdan. Harrison Ford has portrayed archaeology professor Indiana Jones in all five of the movies, with the latest one being 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The Indiana Jones franchise is now in a tricky predicament as two different movie studios have ties to the films. The first four Indiana Jones movies, which include Raiders, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Krystal Skull (2008), were all released by Lucasfilm under Paramount. But that was before Lucasfilm was bought by The Walt Disney Company.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, has been a mysterious project. Until now. Here’s the trailer.
Originally due in May, we’re now patiently waiting until September to see what Kogonada, the director of After Yang, has cooked up along with the rather formidable leading duo of Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. The script for this mysterious project has been penned by Seth Reiss, the writer of 2022’s The Menu, itself a delicious 2022 satirical drama.
For ages, we only had this rather vague logline that promises a focus ‘on two strangers and the unlikely way that their paths align.’ Intriguing? Yes. Vague? Very much so.
All that has now changed though with the release of the film’s first trailer which promises a journey into the each character’s memories, seemingly powered by some kind of benevolent and all-powerful sat nav.

Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie are joining forces in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, the latest feature-length offering from After Yang director Kogonada. Farrell reunites with the filmmaker in a new, mind-bending journey that sees a pair of characters visit their past by walking through mysterious doors.
Two strangers, played by Farrell and Robbie, have a chance meeting and go on a mystical adventure that involves them opening doors and visiting memories in the trippy official trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. In addition to Farrell and Robbie, the cast features Jodie Turner-Smith, Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Hamish Linklater. However, as the footage suggests, audiences will mostly be acquainted with Carrell and Robbie's characters, David and Sarah, respectively, both of whom reckon with the key parts of their unique pasts. If After Yang was any indication, expect an ambitious yet emotional journey. You can check out the trailer below.

Sony Pictures has released the trailer for “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” a romance film starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell.
The romance-fantasy film, directed by Kogonada, is “an imaginative tale of two strangers,” per the official logline. The cast also includes Jodie Turner-Smith, Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Hamish Linklater.
Kogonada previously directed the sci-fi family drama “After Yang,” which starred Farrell and Turner-Smith, as well as 2017’s “Columbus.” He also directed the Apple TV+ series “Pachinko.” Seth Reiss, known for “The Menu,” wrote the script.
Farrell told Collider that the film is “kind of a love story, but it’s not a very typical one. It’s definitely magical realism. It’s grounded in a world that we recognize, but it also is removed enough into the world of fantastical that it goes into these kinds of whimsical places.”

Turner stars as a Hollywood starlet who, after an unnamed scandal, “retreats to a remote cabin — but she’s not alone. Betrayed by the man she trusted most, she’s trapped in a brutal game of survival,” the official logline reads. “She can hide, but she can’t run.”
The project co-stars Rhys Coiro, Billy Campbell, Peter Mensah, Forrest Goodluck, Gianni Paolo, Renata Vaca and Katey Sagal.

If someone’s buying into the idea that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are Hollywood’s power couple, it’s not Netflix. According to a well-placed source in the giant streaming platform, Prince Harry is getting booted.
But Meghan can keep her pie, even if it’s a much smaller piece than the first time round.
Meghan Markle Offered “Face-saving” Deal With Netflix
It only took Archetypes for Spotify to cut their loses and run, but Netflix seems to be ready to stick it out for the long run.
And it’s not hard to see why they would do this. After all, the couple’s docuseries ‘Harry and Meghan’ did perform fantastically.
But when there’s no royal gossips to share, it would seem that the masses aren’t that particularly motivated to tune in.
Still, despite the bad reviews and not-so-brilliant ratings that plagued ‘With Love, Meghan,’ Netflix...

Elsbeth season 3 is officially confirmed, and the show's casting director is excited about potential celebrity cameos, with a few already in mind. While many are excited for season 3, Elsbeth season 2 was quite memorable, especially the finale. The season's final episode included Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) being arrested for harassment and going to prison, the same one housing several of the murder suspects she helped put away. The Elsbeth season 2 finale ended with Elsbeth having a dream sequence of a musical number from the Broadway play Chicago, specifically “Cell Block Tango,”saying that theater director Alex Modarian, who was murdered, "had it coming."
During an interview with Variety, the casting director for Elsbeth, Findley Davidson, opened up about cameos for Elsbeth season 3, and one of the celebrities she would like to make an appearance is Phoebe Waller-Bridge from Fleabag and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Throughout its two seasons, Elsbeth has had a plethora of well-known celebrities,...

Young people are an endangered species on TV these days. Broadcast TV has given up on them entirely, and even cable and streaming shows rarely focus on people in their 20s unless it’s through a sci-fi or supernatural lens. It’s as if TV has thrown up the white flag and surrendered an entire generation to YouTube and TikTok. That’s why it’s a relief to see a show like FX’s Adults hit our screens. (It debuts tonight at 9/8c on FX and streams in full on Hulu starting tomorrow; I’ve seen the first three episodes.

If Sansa Stark had to fight the Night King one-on-one she could have. How do we know? Because Sophie Turner, who played Sansa for all eight seasons of Game of Thrones, recently showed off a poolside picture of herself flexing her guns and showing off her six-pack, looking ready to bench press the army of the dead:

When it comes to live-action, Tomb Raider has always struggled to find its footing. None of the adaptations of the character have managed to capture the essence of the video games, and the source material outshines its live-action offspring by a long shot. From Angelina Jolie to Alicia Vikander, the torch carried by Lara Croft has now been passed on to Sophie Turner.
A new live-action Tomb Raider series from Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been in development for Prime Video since 2023, but it was officially greenlit in 2024, and Turner was in talks to star in the titular role. Even though reports earlier stated that the series was no longer moving forward due to issues in development, a now-deleted post from Sophie herself has seemingly confirmed otherwise.
