Emmy winner Tina Fey has addressed the possibility of Steve Carell’s return in the upcoming second season of The Four Seasons. In addition to playing one of the Netflix show’s lead characters, Fey also took on multiple roles behind-the-scenes, including serving as its co-creator, co-writer, and co-showrunner.

During the penultimate episode of The Four Seasons Season 1, Carell’s character Nick surprisingly died in a car accident while he was on a New Year’s Eve ski vacation with his girlfriend and her friends, whom he had trouble connecting with due to their age gap. “Wicked” star Marissa Bode and Tony nominee Julia Lester are among the actors lending their talents to the short films by Inevitable Foundation’s Visionary Fellowship filmmakers.

The year-long program provides disabled filmmakers with the funding, community and guidance to create a short film that could eventually be made into their debut feature. The inaugural cohort of fellows — Zayre Ferrer, Monica Lucas, Filipe Coutinho, Alys Murray and Katherine Craft — each received $55,000 in funding for their short film, as well as a production grant, access to an experienced crew, health insurance, marketing support and financial aid for access and travel.

Production on the shorts is underway in neighborhoods across Los Angeles and will continue through the end of June. Casting is by Danielle Pretsfelder Demchick, CSA, and Elizabeth Hay, CSA.

Audra McDonald, Jasmine Amy Rogers, and Sarah Snook all accepted the top acting prizes at the awards show on Sunday (June 1) at the NYU Skirball Center in New York City.

The event featured gender-free performance categories with each category featuring twice as many nominees as the former gendered ones. Each acting category also had two winners, with one category getting three winners because of a tie!

Audra and Jasmine won the awards for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical for their work in Gypsy and Boop! The Musical, respectively. On Wednesday, Netflix announced that The Four Seasons has officially been renewed for Season 2. The first season, which consisted of eight episodes, was an instant streaming hit, leading to the speedy renewal decision. Following its premiere, the show has held onto the No. 1 spot on Netflix's English TV Shows list, bringing in a total of 24.4 million views. While "potential new cast members" were teased to join the show in Season 2, no additional names were announced, and it's unclear when the series will return.

Following his acclaimed run as this year’s Oscars host, Conan O’Brien is back for the second season of “Conan O’Brien Must Go,” featuring Oscar winners Taika Waititi (“Jojo Rabbit”) and Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”).

In this new season, O’Brien continues his trek around the world by visiting New Zealand, Austria and Spain. The official synopsis reads: “In this riotously funny travel series, Conan O’Brien experiences local cultures and connects with fans he previously met on his podcast.”

Season 2 drops after Season 3 officially was officially greenlit, meaning that more adventures around the world are in store for O’Brien. The series, starring and co-created by Tina Fey, is set to premiere May 1. The series was originally picked up for eight episodes in January 2024 and completed filming in New York in November. It is based on the 1981 film of the same name that was directed by and starred Alan Alda.

In the film, three married couples take vacations together each season, but things are thrown for a loop when one of the husbands leaves his wife and begins bringing a younger woman with him. Lester will appear as Lila, the daughter of Anne (Kenney-Silver) and Nick (Carell).

Lester is perhaps best known for her role in the Disney+ series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” appearing as Ashlyn across the show’s four seasons.

Hulu has revealed the trailer for a high school coming-of-age comedy called Prom Dates, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Kim Nguyen - who has mostly been making TV before this. This hasn't premiered at any festivals, like many Hulu features do (like The Greatest Hits or Suncoast also this year), but it does look just as worthy. Here’s a synopsis: Despite the impending changes that college will bring over the next four years, the two are committed to honoring their prom pact. But with only 24 hours left before the big event, everything falls apart when they break up with each of their dates. Jess and Hannah are left with one night to find new dates and live out their middle-school fantasies.

The Disney+ extension of the popular movie musical trilogy concluded this week with an eight-episode fourth season that found its cast performing a stage — or rather, basketball court — production of 2008’s “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” Members of that film’s original cast returned to East High to shoot the fictional “High School Musical 4: The Reunion.”
