James Gunn could be taking us to Themyscira sooner than expected. The Dcu-head told Entertainment Weekly that a Wonder Woman movie is "being written right now." He clarifies this is different from the Paradise Lost prequel series at HBO that will be about the Amazons of Themyscira. That project, Gunn says, is "slow moving, but it's moving." Gunn also tells Entertainment Weekly that Wonder Woman has not yet been cast. All this ahead of the release of the highly anticipated Superman movie from Gunn's Dcu, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. Gunn notes that in terms of looking to four of the bigger players in the Dcu: Batman, Superman, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman, "I wouldn't say only those four characters, but I would say that those four characters are incredibly important to us. Right now, I feel great about where two of those characters are, and then we're dealing with the other two.

James Gunn's newly rebooted superhero universe, nicknamed the Dcu (for DC Universe), is set to launch on July 11, 2025, with the release of "Superman," yet another live-action feature film to star the Man of Steel. The people looking forward to "Superman" are likely uninterested in recalling the decade-long debacle that was the Dceu (that is: the DC Extended Universe), the 16-film cycle spearheaded by director Zack Snyder. The Dceu began with the release of the not-at-all-good "Man of Steel" in 2013 and chugged along until the release of the even-worse "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" in 2023. In between, there was at least one great film ("Shazam!"), one good film ("Wonder Woman"), and a lot of tiresome trash. 

The Dceu had a lot of defenders, but not enough to make it equal the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney's superhero film...

Ben Affleck was on set filming his upcoming movie Animals doing what appeared to be a dramatic scene…but it was the hint of skin on his back that caught some attention!

The 52-year-old actor filmed at the river in Los Angeles on Monday (April 14), where he appeared to be angry and throw a bag to the ground. In addition, there appeared to he bullet-like holes in the back of his shirt.

When Ben bent over to pick up the bag, his shirt lifted and some of the bare skin on his back was exposed. What looked to be a black-and-white tattoo peeked through.

Filming began in early March of this year, but new on-set photos taken in the LA River reveal the gritty action side of this political thriller, as reported by What's On Netflix.

Damon is starring as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's next film, which is an adaptation of the epic Greek poem The Odyssey. There have been a lot of rough DC Comics movies but which ones are truly the worst of the worst?

DC started early on the superhero movie trend with 1978’s Superman and later 1989’s Batman. However, despite successes like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the Dceu faltered compared to the MCU. Somehow, Warner Bros and DC couldn’t make it all work right and it all came to a lame ending.

There have been some pretty poor to outright bad movies based on DC Comics such as Batman v Superman or The Flash. However, there are several films that stand out for how truly awful they are and leave us thinking they shouldn't have happened. They waste great casts and story potential while also being just flat-out terrible movies.

Here are how the ten worst DC Comics movies rank and marvel (no pun intended) on how badly they botched these characters.

The African American Film Critics Association Awards returned to Beverly Wilshire on Wednesday to celebrate Black stories and diversity across cinema and the entertainment industry, honoring this year’s winners announced in December including its Best Picture winner Nickel Boys.

Founded in 2003, the Aafca is a Black critics organization that dedicates itself to covering film at large, emphasizing movies and TV showcasing the Black experience and/or written, directed, produced, or starring people from across the African diaspora.

“This has been a defining year for cinema, with an impressive array of stories that capture the complexity, resilience and beauty of the human experience,” president and co-founder Gil Robertson said about the 16th annual celebration. “We are proud to honor this year’s filmmakers and talent whose work continues to expand the scope of humanity on screen. Sometimes, in the grand shuffle of Hollywood casting decisions, it feels like a game of musical chairs—when the music stops, you’re left holding a character you’ve barely had a chance to make your own. Jason Momoa’s recent announcement that he’s officially joining James Gunn’s DC Universe as the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo is a perfect example.

It’s like watching a quarterback swap jerseys mid-game—unexpected, but full of possibility. And it’s got us wondering: if Momoa can bounce from Aquaman to Lobo, why can’t Henry Cavill play the role of his dreams? After all, he earlier expressed his favorite villain as Brainiac, the ultimate foe of Superman.

Cavill made his Superman debut in Man of Steel back in 2013, and it was clear from the get-go that this was a man who gets the character.

The Dceu was dark, but the introductory scene for Cyborg was absolutely wild, with a brief but traumatic cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Dceu had more than its fair share of issues. Despite a promising start in 2013 with Man of Steel, it wasn't long until the entire universe began to fall to pieces. And one of the core issues was how abruptly and rapidly the universe tried to introduce a team of heroes without any real context.

In fact, in the second movie of the entire Dceu, the film featured a gratuitous cameo sequence that left all the action of the film behind to essentially set up trailers for upcoming hero movies. Bruce Wayne makes contact with Wonder Woman, and sends over files that he procured from Lex Luthor which reveal a first glimpse of the Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, and presumably Wonder Woman herself, though her clip is not shown.

Jason Momoa joins James Gunn's Dcu as Lobo, and it gives me hope that Henry Cavill could also get recast and find redemption after his time as Superman abruptly ended. The Dceu had a promising start with Man of Steel, but the universe cratered after several flops left viewers disinterested in the universe. While Gunn's Dcu could be the fresh start DC needs, it's unfortunate that so many cast members had their time in certain roles cut short. One of the biggest disappointments with the Dceu is what happened to Cavill's Superman.
