Marcy Hardart is a former MTV News (1989) and Saturday Night Live (1975) employee. Hardart is the great-granddaughter of Frank Hardart, founder of Horn & Hardart, which was the largest restaurant chain in America for decades, and the daughter of Horn & Hardart President Thomas Roche Hardart, who in the 1960s helped to convert the restaurants into 250 Burger King, Arby's, and Bojangles franchises that the company owns. Hardart's cousin Evie Murray was Lorne Michaels's assistant on Saturday Night Live and brought in Hardart to succeed her when she transitioned to a new role as Creative Consultant on the show. Hardart served as Michaels's assistant for three-and-a-half seasons, from July 1987 to November 1990. After leaving Saturday Night Live, she joined the crew of MTV News, working as a unit production unit manager there from 1991 to 1996 and coordinating the MTV Movie Awards. Hardart is married to Emmy-winning Late Night with David Letterman (1982) and In Living Color (1990) writer Matt Wickline, and they have three children together, including Saturday Night Live cast member Jane Wickline.
