Company to distribute roster of completed titles in US.

Vertical Entertainment continues to grow its international business and is in talks on a virtual Cannes market slate led by thriller Last Survivors starring Alicia Silverstone and civil rights drama Son Of The South executive produced by Spike Lee.

Head of international sales and distribution Ryan Keller and his team have been taking meetings this week on the international sales roster, which includes sci-fi thriller Risen, horror Shook, thriller Stalker, and The Resort. All titles are completed and Vertical will distribute in the US.

Tyler Savage’s ‘Blinders’ to debut at this years Frightfest digital event!

Genre veteran Tyler Savage (Inheritance) has announced the world premiere of his latest feature, Blinders, at Arrow Video FrightFest Digital Edition 2020. The increasingly creepy film follows a lonely transplant to the City of Angels who forms a dangerous friendship with a rideshare driver. Savage directed from a script he co-wrote with Dash Hawkins, and they produced alongside J.P. Castel, Chadd Harbold and Daniel Pisano.

Vincent Van Horn and Michael Lee Joplin headline the cast as Andy and Roger, two lonely souls whose paths cross during one fateful drive. When Andy forms a blossoming connection with the beautiful Sam (Christine Ko), Roger quickly turns obsessive with disastrous consequences.

Saban Acquires North American Rights to Horror Thriller ‘Initiation’

Saban Films has acquired North American rights to horror crime-thriller “Initiation,” directed by John Berardo (“The Labyrinth”). Xyz Films is introducing the film to international distributors during the Cannes virtual market.

The movie, selected for a world premiere in the Midnighters section at SXSW under its original title “Dembanger,” stars Lochlyn Munro, Isabella Gomez (“One Day at a Time”), Jon Huertas (“This Is Us”), Froy Gutierrez (“Teen Wolf”), Bart Johnson (“High School Musical”), and Yancy Butler.

Inspired by his short film “Dembanger,” about the perils of posting on social media, Berardo penned the script alongside Brian Frager and Lindsay Lavanchy. Shatterproof Films’ Berardo and Frager produced along with Lavanchy, J.P. Castel, Jon Huertas, Stephanie Stanziano, Artisan Post Group and Malsons Media.
