While the film is still in pre-production, the casting buzz is already in full swing. Reports from OTTplay suggest that the team has almost locked Janhvi Kapoor in as the female lead.

The film Sikandar, featuring Salman Khan, has been making headlines at the box office since its release on March 30, which coincided with Eid. Although it didn’t achieve the same opening day figures as Tiger 3, it has been gradually rising in popularity.

A Strong Opening

On its first day, Sikandar earned Rs 26 crore, a commendable amount given the competition. The film experienced a slight boost on Eid, with earnings increasing to Rs 29 crore on the second day. However, the numbers have been slowly declining since then.

Reaching the Rs 100 Crore Milestone

Despite the decrease in daily earnings, Sikandar successfully surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone on its eighth day, accumulating a total of Rs 103.64 crore. While the film’s performance has been consistent, it hasn’t been extraordinary, with some experts likening its trend to that of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Kapkapiii, an upcoming horror-comedy, starring Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, is all set to release in theatres this year! The movie marks the final film of late director Sangeeth Sivan, known for cult comedies like Kya Kool Hain Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money.

The film promises to deliver spine-chilling moments wrapped in rib-tickling humor. It will be released in cinemas on May 23, 2025. In addition to Tusshar and Shreyas, Kapkapiii also stars Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pandey, Dherendra Tiwari, Dinkar Sharma, and Abishek Kumar.

Maddock’s last horror-comedy Munjya garnered a viewership of 34.6 million with its world premiere. Now Stree 2 has surpassed this number with 6.8 million higher views, setting a massive record, to enhance the viewer experience, Star Gold supplemented the premiere with a Roundtable discussion featuring the film’s cast and director, Amar Kaushik, along with a showcase of unseen deleted scenes.

Dinesh Vijan, CEO of Maddock Films, acknowledged the film’s continued success, highlighting that Stree 2 has resonated deeply with audiences, both in cinemas and on television.
