Highland Film Group has released the first look image and announced territory sales on the action thriller Gunner starring Morgan Freeman and Luke Hemsworth, which recently wrapped production in Alabama.

Dimitri Logothetis directed the film from a script by The Fast And The Furious franchise creator Gary Scott Thompson.

Hemsworth plays the title role of Special Ops veteran Lee Gunner, who takes his sons on a family fishing trip and must rescue them after they stumble upon a drug running operation and get kidnapped by the son of a jailed kingpin (Freeman).

Exclusive: Mvd Entertainment Group has claimed North American rights to the darkly comedic thriller Wrong Reasons, marking the feature debut of writer-director Josh Roush. The film, executive produced by and featuring Kevin Smith, is slated for release on digital, VOD, Blu-ray and DVD on August 15.

Hailing from AntiCurrent Productions, Wrong Reasons watches as an ambiguously intentioned masked man (James Parks) kidnaps a drug addicted punk rock singer (Liv Roush) and triggers a police investigation headed by Detective Charles Dobson (Ralph Garman) as well as a media circus. “Alone,” the latest film from prolific horror director James Cullen Bressack, comes with one of the year’s creepiest premises: Alys, a sex trafficking victim who escaped from captivity ten years earlier, is lured into a terrifying survive-or-die scenario by someone from her past.

It’s a good fit for Spain’s annual Sitges film festival, which highlights fantasy and horror from around the world. “Alone” will have its world premiere in October as part of Sitges’ Midnight X-Treme lineup, and ahead of its public debut comes the extremely unsettling official trailer.
