Actors Shouldn’t be put on Unhealthy Regimens for Roles when they’re Entertainers, not Athletes
Chris Hemsworth
While we may seem to live in an era that’s big on body positivity, many of the unrealistic physical expectations that actors face still go unquestioned. Right now, it’s considered normal to put action stars through rigorous regimens in order to make their bodies look ideal for their films. While it is understandable, it is only to an extent. We must ask where we draw the line between acceptable and inhumane when it comes to physical transformation. While some athletes become actors, actors did not go into their profession to become athletes. Yes, they do sign up for this and get paid, but that does not justify the intensity they go through. Actors are people who deserve to be treated fairly and allowed to play the parts that they desire, without being pressured into unhealthy behaviors and physical strain. This is an issue that has always affected action stars.

One Family Takes An Unforgettable Trip In NatGeo Documentary Film Blink
Image
National Geographic Documentary Films is bringing Blink to theaters on October 4 in the U.S. and Canada, but Screen Rant first has an exclusive clip to share with the world. The project is co-directed by Edmund Stenson and Daniel Roher, who won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature with 2022's Navalny, on which Stenson served as associate editor. The duo follows the Pelletier family, who take their four children on a global adventure after three of them are diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa.

The rare, incurable disorder leads to permanent vision loss, which is why parents Edith Lemay and Sbastien Pelletier sought to share the wonders of the world with their young children before it was too late. As chronicled in Blink, the family soaks in the breathtaking sights before them while also grappling with the reality of the challenges that lie ahead. It is a touching tale that perfectly...
